Wait, we'll have new APC before Tool?
Wait, we'll have new APC before Tool?
When I saw that this thread was bumped, I again rolled my eyes... after reading the news... I still rolled my eyes. We'll see .
Little known fact: if you take the first three hours, the last three hours and the four in between and layer them all on top of one another with 15 seconds of crossfade and delay for the last three, the first three and then thirty seconds delay for the middle four, you unlock the secret song that tells you what the Golden Tickets from that Opiate reissue were good for
Well, it wasn't at the first storage unit, but I did remember some more info for that Live In Phoenix promo in the meantime:
• More than likely sourced from FM; the recording is "Presented by" Westwood One. Side A opens with a short spoken introduction over crowd noise.
• Side B opens with Breña (5-10 sec. fade-in during the guitar intro).
• Interview after the performance. I cannot remember the length, but I remember that it does not match the time listed on the cassette.
I assure you this exists, seasons.
I'd rather have new APC than new Tool. Just saying...
Honestly, I like Maynard's style and I enjoy his distinct styles with each band.
Thirteenth Step is obviously a deeply personal album and so is Moneyshot. But they have different flavors and I appreciate that style. I'm excited for the masculine openness of Tool eventually but no wine before its time, I guess.

New Sisters of Mercy before new Tool.
Think of it.
THIS IS AN ACTUAL POSSIBILITY
My IBS will go away before new Tool.
Okay, I'll stop now.
Funny you guys bring this up.
I have a "Live at West Arena, Phoenix" recording in 320k, acquired a little while ago, with custom artwork sourced from a place called 'vcdtree.com' - which apparently no longer exists.
It's 12 tracks and the last one's the interview, 4:35 long. Might this be it?
Edit: No fade-in during Brena, prolly not from the tape anyway

I have it in MP3 with no "Breña" fade in like Shadaloo, but without the interview (I probably just deleted it). The mastering is super digital, though – no tape hiss, brickwalled-without-distortion like MDN is, no analog telltales at the very beginning or the end. It could be cleaned up, of course, but it also lacks the distinct FM compression and MS encoding, so it had to be preFM if it's indeed a Westwood One thing.
The fuck would they only print it on cassette? In 2000? And where's this other source from? Somebody call this goddamn company.
Some of the Life in Phoenix was rereleased on an iTunes exclusive. It's actually remastered.

Also, is that the copy where Maynard introduces the songs? Like before Breña he dedicates it to his fiancé? And 3 Libras has an intro about how he's bitter.

It's the source for all the live tracks on MDN singles, so yes. And those would likely be the source for the iTunes thing.
Discogs live recording info (liner notes of MDN 2CD box): "recorded live at America West Arena, Phoenix, AZ, June 4, 2000. Recorded and mixed for the SFX Radio Network, assisted at Mix This!"
Can't wait, it's been too long.
Did they make an official announcement yesterday? Billy said on FB it was coming today.

Ah. I was hoping they'd announce some new music or something.

It'll be Friedl behind the kit and not Freese.
Isn't Freese officially retired?

Sifting through all of Billy's replies, here's everything so far:
- States confirmed: North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, California.
- There's a warm up show in Vegas (around spring break time).
- Only one show in L.A.
No Freese?!?! Anticipation has dropped slightly. Love Freese.
