Well there have been extreme incidents on black fridays ; a mother pepper-spraying guys who wanted to grab an xbox off her kid's hands (the kid, mother and guys resumed their shopping afterwise), two alpha males taking over their girlfriends' argument and turning it into a shoot out (and eventually killed each other), mall personnel killed, etc...

Humans are more than often quite decent. But when you pack them and turn them into people, they're all impulses and no brains. Romero really hit the nail on the head with Dawn of the Dead.
