    Well… impressions?

I must admit I prefer the original! It's almost like they stuck the acapella on something they had lying around. One one listen I can't find anything else in common. Nearly a minute instrumental fade-out which I quite like (reminds me of bits of HTDA - A Drowning I think), might try excerpting that. Still, nice to do Sitek a favour, and I'm sure the electro-duo are ecstatic.

I liked it until they started in with the obligatory drone guitar sound that's been recycled for the last decade and a half.

    This.
Nice try though, as it's obviously better than what I can do.

It's vintage Reznor - quirky synths, climactic choruses, and walls of distortion. I would have expected something more abstract and/or creative considering Cortini and Atticus were with him, but it works in a kind of satisfyingly familiar way.

Also, why wasn't this released as a NIN remix instead of a "Trent Reznor Alessandro Cortini Atticus Ross Remix"? Seems strange that they wouldn't put the NIN label on something that sounds exactly like a NIN song, and features every main player from recent NIN studio sessions (especially considering the band name draws more publicity, which would have helped Telepathe)

Atticus was credited as a co-writer for every song on Ghosts, but that didn't stop them from making it a NIN album.

Authorship doesn't imply membership, otherwise Gary Numan and Freddy Mercury (posthumously) were in NIN.

Yeah, as much as I really like that sound, even as a signature it is getting to be overused.

you are correct, but this remix sounds like a nine inch nails remix. probably would have garnered more attention if it was tagged with a nin remix than tr/ac/ar.

that being said, the remix sounds good. i think presideo's description of the remix pretty much nails it.

Maybe they actually wanted their own credit? Hell, why not label it as a Sonoio remix, or an Error remix?

http://soundcloud.com/telepathe/destroyer-trent-reznor . The album art is on http://federalprism.com/ - and asking for a DOWNLOAD of copyrighted material on ETS is against the rules

I like (or liked) it too, but at this point it's low hanging Trent-fruit. Which is probably, like, a rotten apple or something goth.

I purchased the remix for .89 cents on Amazon. Don't really feel the need to own the original too.

The iTunes single has 2 different remixes. The other is by Dave Sitek.

Enjoyed the soundcloud and I went for the download on amazon for £1.38, I thought that $42 with international shipping was a bit much for a single

Just received the vinyl LP: Didn't realize that it was numbered (120/500) and would have a personal "Thank You" note from "DAS" on the inside of the shipping box. Very cool surprise!

    Cool! Thanks for sharing, Ruined.

Personally, I'm way into the remix. Yeah, the outro is old hat at this point, but Alessandro's trademark electronics and the huge piano chords are really satisfying.

Amazon MP3 purchase only available in the US. Guess I'll have to fire up my US proxy service just so I can pay for the product I'm trying to purchase instead of pirating it.

    Thanks, corporate fat cats!

Wow, this was a pleasant surprise. I had seen the link floating around while I was at work and wasn't really too interested in hearing a remix. However, I really, really liked it.

Apparently Amazon is smarter than that and I can't seem to purchase the MP3s with my Australian credit card.

Could someone kindly PM me and advise on alternative means?

    Thank-you

I like the remix, and the original. I am now intrigued about this new fangled pop band.

Not to insult the original track (which is a pretty cool track), but the Reznor/Ross/Cortini trifecta touch just takes the song to another level.
