86-93 for me, it's absolutely staggering the quality they put out in those 4 albums. All that in 7+ years..

wait, it's 9am here, this was just a counter to another counter then???
Seems like it. They posted on twitter that Ghosts Again comes out February 9th. Also, there's 18s snippet of the song on the same tweet. https://twitter.com/depechemode/stat...56525788721153
oh...
Is this second timer going to take us to a Rick Astley video at the end?
I probably have this on one of the hard drives you gave me. I wish I could say I'll get around to sorting & sharing the stuff on those soon but life gets in the way...
I haven't been on this forum in a while. Here are some particularly high-quality and enjoyable live recordings I've shared upgrades of recently:
1981-06-27 Crocs, Rayleigh, Essex, England, UK/Source 1 - Depeche Mode Live Wiki (dmlive.wiki) - soundboard recording, Nakamichi Dragon transfer from first-generation cassette - big upgrade to the prior available transfers, shared in memoriam of Fletch
1982-05-07 The Ritz, New York City, NY, USA/Source 1 - Depeche Mode Live Wiki (dmlive.wiki) - very good audience recording, new Nakamichi transfer from a first-generation cassette tape
1986-06-24 St. Paul Civic Center, St. Paul, MN, USA/Source 1 - Depeche Mode Live Wiki (dmlive.wiki) - extremely good audience recording - new Nakamichi transfer from master tapes - unbelieveably good for being "just" an audience recording taped on a couple cassettes!
1990-07-05 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX, USA/Source 1 - Depeche Mode Live Wiki (dmlive.wiki) - excellent audience recording, new Nakamichi transfer from master tapes
1990-07-06 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX, USA/Source 1 - Depeche Mode Live Wiki (dmlive.wiki) - very good audience recording, new Nakamichi transfer from master tapes, with missing tape completed using a raw 1st gen transfer

Would love this to come back live… except without the country twist. The album version would be amazing live.

If someone could give this to me that'd be great.
Captioned: "weightless hours, all my flowers"

Stella Rose (Dave's daughter) is opening for the band, along with another artist.
Soon Gary Numan's daughter Raven will be opening for his gigs, too. This is becoming a trend!
Ghosts Again lyrics:
Spoiler: Wasted feelings, broken meaningsTime is fleeting, see what it brings
Hellos, goodbyes, a thousand midnights
Lost in sleepless lullabies
Heaven's dreaming thoughtless thoughts, my friends
We know we'll be ghosts again
Sunday's shining, silver linings
Weightless hours, all my flowers
A place to hide the tears that you cried
Everybody says goodbye
Faith is sleeping, lovers in the end
Whisper we'll be ghosts again

Very Ingmar Bergman-esque (The Seventh Seal; chess with death scene - Max Von Sydow):

I've been listening to Martin's instrumentals a lot during our waiting period the last few weeks. Anyone (like me) who wasn't into VCMG that much, but likes DM instrumentals should really check out MG & The Third Chimpanzee EP.
Songs like "Brink" were written during (and potentially for) Delta Machine but went unused, and I just learned "You Move" from Spirit actually came from an unused instrumental track that Dave liked and wrote lyrics. Honestly, adding them into rotation with DM songs is kinda like adding TR/AR score tracks into a NIN playlist – it just works.
@butters - yeah, "You Move" is credited as the first song written by both Dave and Martin. I keep seeing that, but wasn't "Oh Well" the first one written by them both?
The Seventh Seal is awesome, yeah. Moreso because of my lifelong connection with The Exorcist and Max von S being in it.
What about that instrumental from the leaked Delta Machine sessions? "Schism"?

Some refreshing colouring for the single.
Also, I only just noticed that D in Depeche stands for Dave and M in Mode stands for Martin.
aaaand it's leaked. MP3 here:

Yes, funny enough it's mixed into a playlist I'm listening to right now. The whole "bloops and blips" experimentation isn't always my thing, but it's a pretty decent album. I'm really glad they kept the song lengths down, unlike the 45min tracks they did in the 90s that Gareth put on soundcloud. Shorter makes it all a bit more accessible I guess. I probably like track 8 the best (the March 2nd recording.)
