Matt Johnson was seriously overlooked, and The The should have sold just as many records as Depeche Mode. They were very close those Some Bizarre bands, Matt, He was a real proto British Trent Reznor character in the 1980's, elusive genius in the press with much respect and sold loads of records, extremely talented, one man band, multi instrumentalist, with a real songwriting gift, a dark reputation, who made synth/aggressive pop music. He was a much better lyricist however, he had a real gift with lyrics Matt did.*

Soul Mining was the best, he was 20, insane, Burning Blue Soul has an incredible atmosphere to it, *but loved Infected and Pornography of Despair and some of Johnny Marr's work on Dusk, After Dusk he sort of just gave up, and vanished and Depeche Mode sold out stadiums, its odd how they broke huge in the U.S and The The didnt. I dont think Matt gave a shit to be honest.
But respect to Depeche Mode they always supported people they idolized. They also brought Wire, Fad Gadget and Primal Scream out with them too.

EDIT -.... Oh well, i can dream .......who the fucK is that GUY????? please come back other Matt anyway.
