Martin did it solo acoustic and said "we've never done this live before, probably with good reason." WTF? It's one of your best songs!
It's probably my second favorite dm song. I hope someone recorded it...
OMG, I love that song!!!! I hope they play that when they arrive in Atlanta. That's awesome.
They need to keep playing it.
I can't stop watching it. It's so amazing!
HD version with a better audio recording:
I can't believe there isn't a US date east of NY. Oh well.

i really wish the band would mix up the old classics a bit more... i was waiting to get a ticket until i saw the setlist, and aside from the new album (which i don't care for), i've seen all of these songs live except halo, black celebration, & barrel of a gun. hard to justify the ticket price for two songs, new ones, and a bunch of classic singles i've seen four times prior. last tour, i paid $100 to hear strangelove, fly on the windscreen, and master & servant.
Why they rely on just can't get enough is beyond me, but other than that I am more than pleased with the setlist as it is my first time seeing them and delta machine is already one of my top albums of 2013.
i think that's the trap they fall into--- all the first timers want to see the classics, so they rely heavily on the violator/songs of faith and devotion singles. they're usually huge crowd pleasers and great songs, but after a few times seeing them i get a little stir crazy when they make up the majority of the set. at least they've dropped 'home' this time around.
as for speak and spell, they did play the some bizarre version of 'photographic' once. it kicked ass, as one would expect. but would love to hear stuff like new life/tora tora tora/told you so/shout/lie to me but they generally, with a few obvious exceptions, ignore everything prior to black celebration. bums me out.
construction time again will always be my favourite album.
Well, that's a problem most major bands fall into. Even NIN.
As someone who sees a band maybe 2 or 3 times and rarely more I usually don't get tired of the classics, but I can see where you are coming from. Personally I could wish for a little bit of more obscure DM stuff aswell, but I'm fine with the hits. I would even wish for some exciter stuff (e.g. the dead of the night), but I guess I'm quite alone with that wish.
I'd love to hear When The Body Speaks and I Feel Loved live.
they did 'goodnight lovers' last tour, if i recall...
nin's production output is dwarfed by dm, dm has 13 full length albums out, spanning 32 years now, nin has 5 to 8 depending on how you want to count broken, ghosts & the slip (over the span of 19 years). so it isn't hard to keep stuff like head like a hole in the rotation. still the only time trent & co really played the more obscure stuff they did so on the stripped down "wave goodbye" tour, where all the elaborate set pieces and productions were replaced by basic lights and smoke.
if any band is going to do the full on arena spectacle performance - it has to be very carefully planned from the cinematics, programming etc. it's just too much work and not enough payout to do radically different setlists every stop on tour.
that being said - i'd love to see "dead of night" in concert (anything else off exciter - not so much)
if dm is gonna tour and with seats north of $100 a pop they should be playing the songs that really put them on the map - and that pretty much means music for the masses through songs of faith & devotion.
they have some great older songs, but the sounds and tech have changed so much in the meantime that i'm not sure they even really work that well together with their "peak" or current material to be completely honest.
or bands that have devoted fanbases like this could make their sets 20 minutes longer each night, just to throw in some songs that the super devoted would appreciate.
Is there anything on that setlist from SOTU?

Setlist from Tel Aviv, Israel
WHY ARE ALL THE MARTIN SONGS PERFECT SO FAR?! Fingers crossed for this and But Not Tonight for Dublin (I'd take Question of Lust for the encore too). Also, it's a bit weird that they played Soft Touch/Raw Nerve and Broken at the rehearsal shows but they haven't shown up yet. My initial though was that they'd rotate Should Be Higher and Secret To The End with them, but maybe they'll be played on the second leg of the tour?
EDIT: Saw some pro-shot footage from Tel Aviv and the crowd is woeful. Some of the crowd footage reveals some brief bursts of activity but it's bad when you have Dave singing the chorus of Enjoy The Silence. Also, the videos are flopping so far. None of the Martin stuff, just lots of different recordings of Enjoy The Silence and Just Can't Get Enough. GAH(an).

Does anybody have a copy of this? I am spinning my wheels trying to find a legit download of this live album. Preferably flac but I'd take mp3s at this point...
