    I don’t get this.

The last we heard the dark album was “finished and ready to go” with 10 tracks, cover art etc.

Now this? Now it’s 12 tracks? And more vocals to do? What?

    https://floodmagazine.com/109237/the...-october-2022/

“Reeves [Gabrels] our guitar player has come over from America for the day just to finish a couple of solos, I’ve got to finish a couple of vocals,” he added. “Essentially it’s a 12 track album. It’s there, it’s kind of half-mixed and half-finished. It’s a weird thing. It’s kind of evolved over the last two years. It hasn’t always been a good thing to have been left alone with it. You pick at it, like picking at seams, and everything falls apart."

Unrelated to anything recent, I finally heard that "Purple Haze" cover up close in good headphones.... pretty good.

I like how he says “it’s a weird thing”.

If that’s a weird thing I don’t even want to talk about the second album and the solo “album of noise”. It sounds like he’s one of those people that go back and repaints things over and over and someone needs to pull him away from it finally.

Billy Howerdel recently saying La Ment is one of his favourite songs (https://www.echoingthesound.org/comm...Howerdel/page4) has made me raise the question again… is it La Ment or Lament? So many Cure songs are printed differently.

    Love Song / Lovesong

The Love Cats / The Lovecats

In Between Days / Inbetween Days

    Hey You! / Hey You!!!!

How Beautiful You Are / How Beautiful You Are…

    To me it's always:

    Lovesong
    The Lovecats
    In Between Days
    Hey You!!!
    How Beautiful You Are...

It’s weird how it’s printed as Love Song on the Disintegration album sleeve but the single has it as Lovesong.

But then why isn’t Plainsong … Plain Song?

Or Siren Song for that matter.

Lament is a word right? And it’s something that fits right in with the mood of the song. So I’m sure La Ment is just some stupid mistake. But I’m no authority.

Yeah, but then it makes me think it could be a play on words and that the lake or whatever the person in the song fell into is called “La Ment”:

    Today there was a tragedy
    Underneath the bridge
    A man walked
    Cold and blue
    Into La Ment

I think I have everything on the 3 cd version. I'm more excited for the Pink Floyd "Animals" remaster & surround sound.

Rick Beato could probably explain this. Something to do with chord progression, or added notes with chords.

So it's coming October 7th! Cool!

Glad to see this coming out. Can't believe it's been 12 years since the Disintegration reissue, holy shit. And not to be negative, but does this dropping in October basically mean that we won't get the new album this fall? I mean I'm not surprised, but I doubt they'd put this AND the new record out before Halloween. Hoping I'm wrong.

So Heart Attack is there. I wonder if Old England and Slvvy are on there under different names? I believe Slvvy was an instrumental demo of Doing The Unstuck.

Not sure, but I wonder what is meant by a glitch?

    https://ultimateclassicrock.com/the-...eluxe-edition/

Listening back to the album in 2022, Smith has said, “There’s a side to the album which I had kind of forgotten, a very gentle, yearning thing which is quite beautiful. ‘Trust’ is one of the best things we’ve ever done, I think, it’s played with great feeling, and ‘To Wish Impossible Things’ is another gorgeous, melancholic piece… in fact it could well be my favorite song on the record.”

When Wish was completed, Smith felt that they had achieved everything they had set out to do, but there was a glitch. “In the studio control room, it all sounded excellent, but I got too busy sorting out our upcoming concerts to properly oversee the mastering. It was too late to do anything about it; the album was out, and we were off around the world again. It has really bugged for me for a very long time.” Remastering the album earlier this year has finally given Smith the chance to address this “It has taken 30 years, but finally, finally, my Wish has come true.”

Interesting. I've always loved the sound of Wish, it was the second Cure record I ever heard, but I've also always thought it was a bit thin or slight. Maybe that's what he's getting at. I'll be interested to hear the new master.

Also I like he singles out "To Wish Impossible Things", it's one of my favorite tracks on the record.

fuck I was on a plane when the news dropped and the record is already sold out. Any known re-sellers/pre-order stockists who aren't on the cure linktree thing?

Edit: pre-ordered thru Picadilly Records. fingers crossed

Frankly to me this sounds like hype. I seem to remember him writing similar things about other releases, perhaps I'm thinking of Entreat. And thinking of Entreat Plus and some of the reaction it got, as well as how hot some of the last live album release was on the CD (versus the BD audio), and some of the the sound of Torn Down, I'd be a little worried about Smith at the mastering desk.

I would dream of an official CD release of the Town and Country Club II (at least the pre version live track). The Big Hand as first song is just... perfect !! and the other pre version of the Wish on are also so great

Frogfish is an interesting title… lol.

So Cut was originally called Away, and A Letter To Elise was originally called Cut. Interesting.
