Why does Join The Dots have 10:15 Saturday Night? That's on both Boys Don't Cry and Three Imaginary Boys

I think it had to do with being a b-side and other tracks also to compensate for not re-releasing or remastering Japanese Whispers, as all those tracks were remastered on Join The Dots:

Join the Dots: B-sides & Rarities is a box set of The Cure, released on January 27, 2004 by their former record label Fiction. (Elektra and Rhino co-released the compilation in North America). This box set is a four-disc compilation of B-sides and rarities, digitally remastered from their original tapes. The box set includes all B-sides by the band, apart from a number of remixes, as well a number of unreleased songs and songs that had been out of physical circulation for years. Many of the songs had not appeared on CD before. The set includes a booklet with track-by-track commentary and an extensive overview of the band's history up to 2004, followed by an extensive list of The Cure's discography.

The B-side "I'm Cold" features singer Siouxsie Sioux on backing vocals; the collaboration came at the time when The Cure were supporting Siouxsie and the Banshees on their 1979's British tour.

Some of the B-sides released between 1982 and 1983 were first compiled on the Japanese Whispers compilation album issued in late 1983.

It also has versions of "Just Like Heaven," "Hey You," and "Icing Sugar," which didn't differ from the originals nearly enough to need to include them. I would imagine they are in there for completion. At the time, there were an awful lot of terrible versions floating around on Napster, and I suppose it just felt right to make sure everything ever put out as a B-side was given a place.

Japanese Whispers is fucking great. Even for a mini-singles album, the songs are fantastic and beautifully weird. The four b-sides are just as good as the four singles. My only complaint is that it's only eight tracks long.

but it's 8 solid tracks that are all fantastic with no filler (although most cure albums don't have much in the way of filler, in my opinion).

Last month saw me drop a sizable cash pile into Amazon and eBay to round out my Cure LP collection. In one week, I purchased vinyl originals of Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, Japanese Whispers, The Top, The Head On The Door, KM KM KM, Entreat and Wild Mood Swings. I also threw down a wad for that super-rare Faith re-issue from 2008 with the bonus tracks. I think the only Cure LPs I need are Concert, Wish, Show, and self-titled.

I'm not the biggest fan of remixes done for their singles, but those remixes for all of the Wish singles were all amazing! Wish (har har) they could've kept the remixes good for WMS...

I loved the "Higher Mix" of High so much more than the album version. A friend had given me that version on a mix tape, and I hadn't heard the album version until I got the album. I was actually quite disappointed with the album version.

Is the Wish Deluxe Edition ever going to come out? I hope it does.

I guess it goes without saying that Disintegration is a masterpiece, I would easily place it as one of my top ten albums of all time. However there is more to the Cure than Disintegration, The Head On The Door, Faith, Seventeen Seconds, Pornography, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, and of coarse Wish (please release the Deluxe Edition). One of my favorite bands.

Why he still hasn't released a studio version of A Boy I Never Knew I don't understand. It's an incredible song.

Yeah, I'm on standby, holding my previous post, ready to eat the words anytime. Well, I'd like them to put it off just a little, so I can rebuild my account from the damage my job did to my paychecks a few months ago. I am one of the few that puts The Top in my list of favorite albums of all time. And Kiss Me would be magnificent. It looks like "Torture" was also debuted. I'm not going to miss this, if given a clear chance. I missed the other Trilogies, damn it.

What we might expect from '4:14 Scream'

Going back through some of the old 4:13 era articles and some more recent stuff, and thought it would be fun to put together a list of songs that might be included on 4:14 Scream.

Songs that could be on it:

(Both of these were from 'The Cure' sessions, but said to have been re-recorded during the '4:13' sessions)

Christmas Without You (from the '4:13' sessions)
An unknown number of instrumentals (from the '4:13' sessions)

In an NME interview (March 2012), Robert said he "has 12 tracks, including instrumentals, that he wants to release, but only as part of a double 4:13 album." In that same interview, he says 4 songs on '4:13' should be on '4:14', and 4 on '4:14' should be on '4:13'. Hoping Robert will tell us which ones should be switched, then we can all make proper versions of the albums, the way he originally envisioned them.

Robert told UOL (April 2013) the following: "my personal favorite is the album that we're about to launch. I think it's definitely my favorite kind of music. There's a song on the album called "Christmas Without You". It's the best song I've ever written."
The song (which was said to be about the death of a close friend) was recorded during the '4:13 Dream' sessions. In this Blender interview (March 2008), Robert called it “one of the most unhappy things we’ve ever recorded”

Overall, the tone of the album should be "dark", as it was always referred to as the darker side of the 2 albums. However, as Robert said, he had to switch a few songs up, to give '4:13' a bit more balance, so it's not out of the question that there could be some lighter moments on this one. Just hope and pray there's not another 'The Only One' on this!

I just hope the production for the new record is better than the last one as I had some issues with the production on 4:13 Dream. I'm looking forward to the dark sound and hear what Roger and Reeves will add to the songs if they're involved in the re-recordings.
