I have zero desire to hear other bands cover cure songs.

unless said bands are like, Depeche Mode or NIN or something along those lines.

Me either. What’s I’m saying is it’s a strange/interesting choice to cover “Winter”, which didn’t ever make it past the demo stage.

i'm usually 100% for believing the victim, but there have been several articles/reddit posts debunking this. I believe one of them came from the same site. the evidence on this one is really suspect, stories keep changing and evolving over time, and none of them really add up correctly:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/TheCure/com...t=share_button

also note that this came up in the middle of their highly successful tour in which they were taking ticketmaster on. i'm not trying to get at some illuminati kinda bullshit here, but there could have been some sort of agenda there.

So we couldn’t go to the Chicago show this time.

Maybe they’ll be back for a second round of touring?

Is Robert so insecure about releasing new music? Not sure what the holdup is if band members are saying it is finished.

The fan livestreams from Riot Fest were awesome and a LOT of fun.

    Lots of singing.

Edit: and I’m happy they played Fascination Street.

It doesn’t make sense considering how much of it has been played live now.

It baffles me how an album that hasn’t been released has had more of its songs played live than many other album songs, especially Bloodflowers and self titled stuff.

So RS posted a playlist thingie for personas en Mexico:

    https://sptfy.com/P70t

The Twilight Sad just cancelled as support for all the Latin American shows, because someone is sick. The Replacements will be playing instead. Haha no wait.

There have been a few venue changes, and word on the Tweeter is that the tickets cost too much. Or something.

This is great, but when they were streaming NIN, they had their logos 3x as big as here... why?

Hmm… no A Fragile Thing or I Can Never Say Goodbye.

    I wish this album existed.

I didn't get A Fragile Thing at the Cleveland show. Of course there was a lightning delay so I'm sure they took it off the list for time restraints.

I'm with you. I'd wish Robert would stop mucking around and release the album. He's getting closer to Tool territory in the gap between albums.

He may just beat them at this rate! Then release it once he beats the record.

Looking at setlist.fm these EU dates have a tape song called “More Alone” being played before Alone. Is this new info for this tour leg?

Robert Smith hired Chicago IP attorneys to file a sizable trademark infringement suit against a list of e-commerce violators, including but not limited to eBay, AliExpress, Alibaba, Amazon, Wish.com, Walmart, Etsy, DHGate, and Temu (collectively “Third Party Providers”). He wants an injunction stopping Defendants from selling this stuff, an account of Defendants’ profits realized from the sales of said counterfeit items, with all profits paid to him or, in the alternative, pay him $2 million for each and every counterfeit use of The Cure trademark, plus attorneys fees.

    Copy here: https://ia601206.us.archive.org/2/it...449747.1.0.pdf

He pretty much HAS TO file this suit. Trademark holders not only have the right, but also the responsibility (OBLIGATION) to defend their trademark(s).

I got a A in my IP class.

Guess this is going to push back the release of Songs of A Lost World....if it even exists at this point.

    First, it’s a TRADEMARK case.

It isn’t about MUSIC (that's copyright). This is about t-shirts, posters, clothing, etc.

Second, an IP case like this doesn’t take off like a rocket ship. Those Defendants have 30 days to file an APPEARANCE. This stuff can move at a snail’s pace.

This kind of case can set a precedent (punitively enough for these e-commerce sites to not do it, anymore). It needs to happen. Read the complaint. It's shocking, actually. He's hired a pretty prominent IP law firm.

    Edit:

    For the record:

Copyright protection includes books, songs, poetry, sound, video recordings, etc.
Trademark protection includes logos and brand names (a phrase, a design, a word, etc.).
    Patents protect inventions.
