I'm starting to feel like RS has realized how crappy 4:13 Dream was and so has gone completely Stanley Kubrick with this album; fine-tuning everything so it's as perfect as possible.

...then the mastering will fuck up everything.

I'm thinking we won't hear it until he's dead when the estate cashes in like Prince, Bowie & Tom Petty. Now there's a holy trinity for you!

Probably. With 4:13, it opened up so promisingly with Underneath The Stars... then what happened? I guess The Hungry Ghost is OK. Without You and Down Under would've made better album tracks. Not too fussed about NY Trip and All Kinds Of Stuff. Sirensong is good but too short. lol at Switch.

I just hope the new one doesn't start out with something as good as It Can Never Be The Same, then we get a bunch of tracks like Step Into The Light.

I think he knows he can't have 2 shit albums in a row. WMS got decimated (and he was well aware of how bad it was received) and then he started a new album in 98 that was going to be electronic (then scrapped it) and started all over again, and then made a conscious effort to do Disintegration 2.0 with Bloodflowers. I think he is going through every note of this new album with a fine toothed comb. He doesn't do himself any favors by doing interviews claiming this new album is the darkest album since Pornography. Some lofty expectations ol Bob is giving to his fanbase

My dream for the next Cure album is a complete 1989 show from soundboard !!

I accept a complete 1981/1982 or 1983 soundboard. there is one 1982 but it sounds strangely

And made a real quality work with only 9 tracks! (Bloodflowers)

It was a dumb move to include Coming Up on some versions.

Bumping not because of a new album (surely you didn't think that would be the case)

Faith 2021 Calendar is live at the store, as well as tons of Bloodflowers, Seventeen Seconds, Kiss Me and 2020 merch, shirts, hoodies, beanies, masks, water bottles etc. Go knock yourselves out.

Japanese Whispers picture disc also: https://shop.thecure.com/product/X9L...nov-83?cp=null

I’ve always found the “The Cure” Bloodflowers era logo interesting. It looks kind of like a child wrote it, leading on to the full-on children artwork concept for the self-titled four years later.

The picture of Robert on the cover doesn’t really look like him either.

Funny enough, I checked all the tabs at the store for new stuff but I guess I didn't bother with the audio visual one lol. Usually those pic discs are for RSD, so I'm wondering if that'll sell out fast.

I've always really hated the cover and booklet of Bloodflowers in general. It looks like it was thrown together by a 12 year old in MS Paint. It rubs my design nerd sensibility like sandpaper.

Am I right in saying that the US version of the booklet was printed in black and white and my (Australian) version is in colour? I thought I remembered reading somewhere sometime ago that that was the case and it looked better.

    edit: yep, correct:

Just got another email about a Faith calendar. Why do we keep getting all these merch updates but still no new album news?

Also, I was listening to (I think?) the Bloodflowers title track the other day, and a part of it reminded me of that main, haunting bass part of It Can Never Be The Same. Can’t wait for a studio version of that monster. Let’s just hope it isn’t one of those “fuck, it sounded better live” situations.

I dunno, Radiohead have been churning out overpriced calendars with a similar art style for years now and no one's knocking them; at least the Cure's are album themed, cheaper, and have exclusive photos. I always have a calendar hanging up in my bar; I can't wait to hang some pornography up in 2022 ha.

I don't think a new album could ever live up to expectations. (see: tool)

I dunno, even though the 2004 self titled album was a bit weird I still have really strong feelings towards it and love Lost, Labyrinth, Before Three, Anniversary, The Promise, Going Nowhere, This Morning, Fake... so much better than the fluff on 4:13 Dream, IMO.

If we even get something along the lines of the self-titled I’d be content!

Remember back in 2003, on the special features for Trilogy, Roger said how much he’d like to play KMKMKM in its entirety in the future?

And how Robert did a tease encore with The Kiss and IOTWCS?

    And it still hasn’t happened?

    Big LOL.

I’d love to see Shiver And Shake live with a big image of Trump in the background.

Oh well, at least they did The Top live (but out of order). Does anyone know of a good live compilation of all the live Top tracks they did a few years back?

Remember back like 15 months ago when Bob said that new album they had finished just needed new vocals and would be “out by year’s end”? Maybe he meant 2020..

    Big LOL indeed..

And, even bigger LOL, remember how he also said there were actually like THREE new Cure albums about 14 months ago? I guess they put those on the back burner so they could get that 2021 calendar completed that the fans have just been dying for..

I was at all 3 Trilogy shows (even fourth shows with Hamburg in the middle.. the only time I listen to Forever live !).. fabulous time !
After Pornography and Disintegration, I didn't really listen to the Bloodflower part (already listen it during at least 20 shows !) but encore parts were great for sure ! The second Berlin night, I was really near to Mary Pool. I have the "Ten Imaginary Years" book in a bag and she signed it

I completely stopped bootlegging The Cure in 2005 (and stop gaining new live records) but I can say there are at least a fabulous soundboard 1984 bootleg called "Cold" (strange name for a 1984 boot !). Can't be sure there are all The Top track but they are played in the perfect mood !

I will listen to it tonight...

Edit : oops just check : The Top (the track) wasn"t played that night

Robert does In Your House, M, and Play for Today "solo" for charity. Don't mind his barefoot, swollen feet.

funny you mention his feet. I oddly couldn't stop looking at them. they didn't look good. I hope he's ok.
