Also, I've never been a big fan of HellYeah, but at least it's not something equivalent to what Corey as done, like Chad Mother Fucking Grey

Yikes, okay, i wasnt aware it got that bad too. Mayne i just didn't really notice. But yeah, at the very least, he still has a good voice as mentioned and isn't running out of breath every 5 seconds it seems. He can still say every word in Spit It Out, granted, it doesn't sound as good, but at least he isn't cutting out every 5 seconds and pulling a Vince Neal. I did take a look of the Hellyeah concerts in 2019 and his voice does sound the same but i honestly can't tell if it's still shot and shit because the hellyeah songs sound a bit easier for him to sing and they don't sing any of the mudvayne songs (probably cuz their bassist cant XD)

Recently they've been playing a lot of LD50 material which makes no sense at all.

The first two albums, especially TEOATTC, had an amazing conceptual complexity which part of me wishes they could re-connect with. Though I do enjoy their more straightforward, rock-y material.

    My fave Mudvayne song:
Mercy Severity is amazing! Probably my fav track too. Very hard to sing along to-- I have to time time my breath intakes

Not trying to derail the thread, but putting Corey and Chad anywhere near each other is absurd. Most people are going to have bad shows but Corey's seem few and far between.

I really wish the band Greg started with Skrape's vocalist was any good. Billy's got a great voice and was an underrated vocalist coming out of that era / genre.

No, you are right, it was just the first nu metal screamer i could think of at the moment.

(Pre)Version of truth is my personal fave from that album but Silenced and On The Move are not too far behind

The Patient Mental is pretty great too. But nothing ever tops LD50. I tend to look at that album as THE masterpiece of the genre.

Sucks to say but, Chads vocals still ass, even with the lowered tuning. I do like they got the makeup back, though. Everyone else is giving it their all though

Ooooof yeah he sounds terrible. Like literally right out of the gate, first line, immediately missing notes and out of breath. Shit's embarrassing.

Ouch. How the hell did they go through rehearsals for weeks/months and greenlight this?

The band sounds tight here and Ryan is crazy as ever. But oh boy... the vocals are beyond embarrassing.

People in the comments are saying the mics were having problems... Sorry, but mic issues doesn't equate to him sounding gassed after one scream that sounds like it has a reverb machine behind it. This is hard to hear man...

There are so many people just blaming it on the sound desk, or saying 'he'll get back in form over a few more gigs' but to me, that's the whole point of rehearsal. I know there was some hesitancy from fans when the gigs were announced that this kind of thing would rear it's head, and it has.

We're on some Vince Neil shit here. But again the band is tight as fuck and haven't missed a beat. There are some screams that are flashes of the good stuff, but missing half the words and falling a beat behind half of the time is just ruining it all.

Glad I caught them in 2001 when Chad's vocals were on point (granted those were the early days). I'd probably still go to a show and have a good time just for the hell of it.

Sounds really good on this recording. This guy has other videos where he sounds equally good.

Better than the other, but "really good" is a stretch.

Band is tight though, I'd go just to see Ryan in action again.

Certainly not the abomination some people are acting like, based off of shit recordings. I went back and watched some live footage from 2000 and there were times where he sounded just as bad then. Itís got to be difficult sustain those kinds of vocals for 20+ years. Iím excited they are at least trying.

Didn't know people here liked Mudvayne too! Pretty hyped for their comeback, we will see shortly if his vocal fuckups were mainly his own or more on the technical side. Personally, I'd be happy if they just recorded a new CD with all the vocal help as he can get. It may be the last of Mudvayne for all we know.

I tried to give a chance to Hellyeah after it seemed evident that Mudvayne will not be back for a long time (if ever), but that level of "lazy cowboy music" was just too much. They have 2-3 catchy songs with meaningless lyrics, but that's all. None of the instrumental fun of Mudvayne.

    hahahahaha

Have you read the story about how Chad overheard the opening sequence of Saw II being discussed at some diner and that’s how he got involved in the soundtrack? That’s pretty cool.

I thought they were goofy as hell. Then "not falling" came out and i thought, ok that was pretty good so i bought that album and dug it. I think i own the live dvd from that time as well. they had some really good songs, better than most of the genre. mercy, severity is really good and 90% of world so cold is awesome. a few cringey parts. the bass player and drummer are incredible. i would hope whatever happens beyond mudvayne, those dudes stick together.

Better, but it still sounds like Chad is pulling all of these vocals from one specific area in the back of his throat. Also, I can't believe they're still doing the 3 minute outro screaming "soiled" for "Nothing To Gein". This used to be extremely emotional, now it's someone grunting "soyold":

Is this a really bad Manson impersonation or is the dude just really out of breath?
