There's no way I could justify a flight in June to see them since I'm already going to NYC for NIN in July, but damn -- isn't this the first non-festival date announced in the US this year? I'm hoping we get more.

This is basically where I live! Looks like possibly a warm-up for the first festival show. Hopefully we'll get a new song! zomg
Someone on Reddit who attended the Sweethead show last weekend asked someone in that camp about the new Queens album. Apparently it has 9 songs and will be out on August 25.
Believe what you will.
New single coming in two weeks. Album still on for August

This is on Matador records. The wait has been so long, so I'm hoping it leaks as early as ...Like Clockwork did! That guy who listened to the new QOTSA seems to really enjoy it, which is good to hear.
Hmmm.Payne also revealed that he knows which act will be joining the band on their next tour, saying it’s “going to be awesome”.
I don't know that but I do know who they're touring with and that's going to be awesome. I'm not at liberty to say who but I can say…
Looking forward to the album!

It's beginning...
I love "HWY 1"! Maybe they've done a Queens version? With Alain or JPJ doing the heavy riffing mandolin part, perhaps?
Dammit, I only just found that song on a Them Crooked Vultures EP and now you're saying it might be a Queens song? I'd rather more TCV, especially considering all of the interviews at the time saying, "Oh sure, we got a second album basically done".
I hate interviews like that.
Right. Especially when the albums by QOTSA and the Foos since TCV have been relatively mediocre in comparison. Four years between albums and we're getting eight or nine songs? The self-titled TCV album was the best thing Dave and Josh had done since Songs For The Deaf, by far. Neither has come anywhere close since..
I know, that's the general consensus. Here on ETS and everywhere else. I remarked about how disappointing I found it compared to past Queens albums back when it was released and took considerable heat for it.
My opinion has changed little since. It's enjoyable enough while it's playing but doesn't leave much of an impression once it's over. It feels forced and unnatural to me.
But then, I also enjoyed Era Vulgaris way more than anyone else I know, and find Rated R to be bland af most days, too..
For me...
1. Rated R
2. Songs for the Deaf
3. Like Clockwork
4. Era Vulgaris
5. Lullabies to Paralyze
6. S/T
ITT: people vastly under appreciating Lullabies to Paralyze
1. Era Vulgaris
2. Rated R
3. Lullabies to Paralyze
4. ...Like Clockwork
5. Queens of the Stone Age
6. Songs for the Deaf
That new website's awesome! Nice to see that Boneface is back on board with the band, his work is brilliant.
I can't rank them. It's like ranking puppies. 13/10 would pet like heck
1. Like Clockwork
2. Songs for the Deaf
3. Era Vulgaris
4. Self-Titled
5. Rated R
6. Lullabies to Paralyze
They are all fantastic and I love them all heavily. Clockwork is simply a conceptual masterpiece to me, though, and the feel of Songs for the Deaf as if you're driving along and down the coastline and into the desert is exquisite. There's a time and a place for all of these.
give us the damn song already!!!!
I'm so fucking hyped.
Mark Ronson? Interesting.
