hoping against hope but I'm hoping the announcement says "and it gives us time to finish our album. that we're writing from inside giant bubbles, like that movie bubble boy? yeah, imagine that but with a lot more shredding."

Man. Been bracing for it all week, but fuck it still burns. Really hope RTJ is able to still be attached to the makeup dates.
Just got word of RBC Bluesfest Ottawa being cancelled, that was one of RATM's stops in mid-July. Should've expected it would be canned but...still fucking sucks.
It’s frustrating that we have no end in sight to this and their tour is indefinitely postponed for now. I also have tickets to see faith no more in August but can’t imagine that things will be back to normal by then. Even if they are, I don’t know how large crowds will even still be a thing that soon after.

It's like this for every band on tour this summer/fall. I don't see how every show isn't cancelled.
It's almost like the virus was like, RATM are making a comeback? not on my watch! And will delay their reunion inevitably.
It's almost like it was never meant to happen. It was all a tease. We should have known better to get excited.
Rage getting back together. hah! That was a good one, eh guys?

Yeah I'm pretty much writing off any shows this year. I just hope between this, Tool, the Stones and Rammstein nothing overlaps.
Doubt it'll happen, but I'm low key hoping the band takes the next year to actually write an album that they can tour on rather than just get out there and play the greatest hits after postponing for over a year.
Watch the whole song, or skip to 5:17. One of my favorite speeches from Zack. Zack was off on the timing (and his understandable hope for Obama), but his prediction at the end looks like its finally coming true. 12 years late is better than never.
What you reap, is what you sow.
The musicality of the band as well as Zack's words and ability have stayed potent to this day, so much so that I feel the world is sorely missing new music from these guys especially in a time just like now, and I guarantee next year's shows will prove this in spades. I always hold out hope they can get it together and create something massive.
I see a lot of people saying his lyrics are timely, but isn't it more that nothing has changed in the intervening years so it's not so much timely as depressing?
This week's Two Minutes to Late Night bedroom cover is "Killing in the Name." It probably won't be for everyone, but I think it's fucking awesome.
Oh man, I knew they were going to do Rage eventually. Can't wait to listen to it.
Would be interesting to see if this pulls Morello or Tim or...not going to wikipedia...Brad? I think I'm right...in for one of the covers.
This is great.
Uuuummmmm......

Really liking that Tom Morello song. Good to hear him in these rough times. Hoping to hear more soon, and hoping he does another bluesy acoustic record
Postponed AGAIN
Good lord, I bought my ticket for this tour when I was 30 years old, and I'll be 33 by the time I actually get to see it.
Yeah. At this point, it'll be two full years from when the original date was supposed to be. I had a feeling this was likely to happen, but it's still a big bummer. I have floor tickets with 8 or 9 friends and I've never seen them (they're top of my bucket list), so I'm really excited for the day it finally happens. I also hope Zach joins Run the Jewels for JU$T and Close Your Eyes (and Count to Fuck) or A Report to the Shareholders/Kill Your Masters.

Just glad the tour is still (probably) happening.
Yeah it's good to know that both bands are seemingly serious about actually doing the tour still. I mean hell at this point with the long ass wait, they'd be dumb NOT to do the shows, because those crowds are going to go O F F when they finally happen. It's going to be such a good time.
I am glad that Run the Jewels is still opening. When I first saw that they'd postponed it again, I was a little worried that RTJ would be replaced.
I’m sort of glad it’s postponed again, it sucks it’s a long wait but I didn’t quite feel like hanging around so many people in just a couple months from now, we’re still not out of his mess.
I'm kinda with you, but I kinda want to see what happens with case numbers in Texas in a couple weeks.
They crammed almost 40k people into a baseball stadium for the rangers hope opening game a few days ago, and they're at about 30% of the population having their first dose of the vaccine.
I've got to imagine there's going to be a huge spike in cases because of that.
I wouldn't be caught dead paying to see these guys in the modern day. Sell-out hypocrite fucks touring on 20+ year old music and even willing to do festivals funded by right-wingers..
But 25 years ago next Friday, when Evil Empire came out? Those were insane times to be alive. I waited what felt like an eternity for that record to drop, after more than two years of playing the shit out of the S/T record. Saw them in Philadelphia on the Evil Empire tour and it was absolutely riotous. Even that tour they did a few years later with Wu-Tang, they still had that fire about them..
I watch clips of them over the past ten years or so and they look and sound like a bunch of tired old men going through the motions. It fails miserably in comparison to their 1992-1997 run. They had four years where the world needed their kind more than ever and they could have reignited the landscape, and instead we got some knock-off band with Chuck D and the guy from Cypress Hill. I will not put another dime in Tom Morello's pockets. Nothing was as funny as the time he mouthed off about that restaurant in Seattle that wouldn't give him special treatment and the owner exposed him mercilessly online, lmao..
