Will this album include the last collaborations with Charlie Watts? or this one was done entirely without him? Just curious...
New album 'Hackney Diamonds' drops Oct 20 and is officially up for preorder at all the usual spots. Watts does indeed appear on two tracks that were recorded in 2019, with the rest of the drumming performed by Steve Jordan.
This is astonishing.
This is shaping up to be a good album. Not Exile good, but maybe Steel Wheels good.
^ If Keith's song on the album is anything like as good as "Slipping Away" was, I'll be mighty pleased.
they played a secret, invite-only show at Racket, the former Highline Ballroom in NYC the other night:
- Shattered
- Angry (live debut)
- Whole Wide World (live debut)
- Tumbling Dice
- Bite My Head Off (live debut)
- Jumpin' Jack Flash
- Encore: Sweet Sounds of Heaven (with Lady Gaga; live debut)
Have to imagine it was pretty f'ing sweet catching that in a 500 cap room.
^ I actually caught Lou Reed in that room back in 2008.
Loving the album, sounds great on vinyl. Firing up the Blu-ray version tomorrow.
The new album is great, nothing new under the sun, but it doesn't have to, great production too!
I saw it on Apple Music with an Atmos mix as well as a handful of their other albums. I'm on a site visit but will have to check them out when I have the time after I get back.

Tattoo You and the new album are the only full albums on streaming with Atmos mixes, but they did remix a sizable number of individual tracks for Dolby Atmos when the Forty Licks compilation was reissued last year and Giles Martin also remixed Goats Head Soup in Atmos, not sure why it hasn't made the jump to streaming yet.
Gonna try for the New Jersey show next year, maybe see some of you there?
I'll be in New Jersey this week for both shows at MetLife! Tomorrow and Sunday. Let's spend the night together!
I saw the Seattle show a week ago. They were better than expected. I've seen them 20-30 times since 1978 & this wasn't the worst show. This show had a setlist that was on the ordinary side but well played. The elephant in the room is Keith. He's deteriorating but luckily this was a good night. Mick still has crazy amounts of energy but he hit the wall during Satisfaction. This was my first show without Charlie & while he was missed Steve Jordan did fine. If this was my last Stones show, I'm good with it.
Night one in Jersey was amazing, Mick was on fire and some of the hottest playing I've heard from Keith and Ronnie. Stoked for a second round on Sunday!
