Like, it's enjoyable enough to watch and I am intrigued enough to want to continue but it's not by any means blowing me away or anything. Maybe it will get better as it goes along, IDK.
This is exactly where I am with this.

watching this documentary about Jeffrey Epstein on Netflix... why do I watch things like this. It ultimately just is depressing and awful, and I don't "need to be convinced." This is so terrible.

The War With Grandpa - not as bad as it could have been, actually... it was nice, 6/10. :-)

just finished Midsommar and I'm blown away. I actually was really underwhelmed by Hereditary, so I put off seeing this. Now I guess I'm gonna buy the director's cut. Wow, that was crazy. Great movie.

Devil All The Time is pretty good. Southern Hillbilly Gothic starring 2 English Men and Swede.
    Out on Netflix.

Although she is isn't a big part of the story I was really into Kristin Griffith who played the character of Emma. I checked her body of work and it's almost all minor TV work. Someone should put her into more things. Jason Clark was born to play an intimidating creep. I have a secret crush on Riley Keough. I'm not huge on narration but the author whose book this is based on lent his voice... so that makes it a bit more ok.

Once again (as with Chernobyl, or 9/11...), they knew something terrible is likely to happen. :-(

(Edit: discussed also in the Netflix thread.)

Did you think this was bad immediately or does it get bad over time? I just watched the first episode and liked it a lot. I'm looking forward to watching more.

I gave up right after first episode, sometimes you have to make hard decisions :-), even though I like Ridley Scott.

Different strokes I guess. I've watched 2 episodes now and I'm really digging it. And I haven't liked much of Scott's work since the 80s.

I can't get enough of Raised By Wolves!

Weird as hell premise, 70's sci-fi aesthetics with religious horror vibes. False shepherds, wolves in sheep's clothing and opposing belief structures. Lovely cinematography and score. No idea how someone could give up on this show so easily besides it being a bit of a slow burn for things to move along. It's a very captivating show with a lot of cryptic shit going on.

    The Comey Rule

Reminded me of early House of Cards, or The Looming Tower, and it's good thing that all of this is fiction, because... wait...

(I'm sure this had to be mentioned somewhere around already but couldn't find)

    ---

Edit: Also, this one was pretty original. :-)

that still for the Comey movie is like a troll version of Trump. like all it needs is a damn wart on the nose and some slightly-more pointy ears and maybe a different shade of skin and it's a troll.

That is such a good exactly-what-it-is movie. Did you watch the trailer and laugh uproariously? Then you'll love the movie.

My wife, upon finishing the movie, said "yeah, that's exactly the type of movie you like" which I'm still not sure if it's a compliment or denigration, nor do I know if it's directed at me or the movie. Or both? But it's great.

Yeah, I'm now 5 or 6 episodes deep and I love it. I'll create a separate thread for it here once I'm caught up if someone doesn't beat me to it. This show is great.

Finally finished watching S1 of High Fidelity; in general I enjoyed it. I dig the vibe of it, I liked the performances and really liked the way it wrapped up.

Why is there so much smoking on this show? Jesus fucking christ how much did phillip morris pay this show for all that product placement?
