Bronson. Tom hardy is fucking menacing in this movie (and naked a lot.)
Catching up with Nicolas Winding Refn flicks. Watched Pusher II yesterday, today Pusher 3, while I try to get my hands on Fear X.
Is Valhalla Rising any good? It looks so different from the other moies he has done.
Watching a bunch of "classics" I've never seen. I made a list as a bit of a guide. As of now I've watched To Kill A Mocking Bird, North By Northwest, and Cool Hand Luke. Feel free to make suggestions. Here's the rest of my list (bold denotes those I'm in possession of and will be watching next, italics are those I plan on getting next):
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
12 Angry Men
Schindler's List
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Apocalypse Now
On The Waterfront
Citizen Kane
Annie Hall
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull
Lawrence Of Arabia
The Maltese Falcon
Vertigo
The Deer Hunter
Gone With The Wind
The Graduate
8 1/2
A Streetcar Named Desire
The Heart Of Darkness
The Sound Of Music
Singin' In The Rain
Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre
Jaws
Sullivan's Travels
Cabaret
Network
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?
All The President's Men
The Apartment
The French Connection
Doctor Zhivago
Rebel Without A Cause
Valhalla Rising I think is one of Refn's best films. There's not a lot of dialogue but rather slow yet crushing action. It's a very brutal but dream-like film. In fact, I wrote a piece on Refn this past June that you can read here.
Just watched 'Stupid Crazy Love' last night and was surprised by how good this movie was. Very well made. Nice pacing. Great acting. Great story.
And there was also this moment that reminded me of something that could happen at the end of Act 1 in a Shakespeare play. It was pretty entertaining, to say the least.
Batman: The animated series volume 1. Nostalgia ftw. I hope these come out on blu-ray one day.

Apocalypse Now, Lawrence Of Arabia, Network, The French Connection, Vertigo Bolded could be in my top 5 if I did that sort of thing.

I do love how because The Critics say it's the best, it's the best.
if we're making a list of great hollywood classics... recommendations you might be missing:
Sunset Blvd
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane
All About Eve
Suddenly Last Summer
The Haunting
The Manchurian Candidate
Then there's practically everything by Kurosawa, Kubrick, and Hitchcock... Hitchcock especially has a lot of movies that people generally overlook that are fantastic. Strangers on a Train, Rebecca, Notorious, The Man Who Knew Too Much (his remake of his own movie)... practically everything he did before Frenzy is amazing.
Also, while everyone loves Kubrick, not enough people have seen The Killing, which is awesome.
IF anyone has any good noir recommendations from the 40s or 50s I'd like to hear them.

Goldfoot:
From your list, my top 3 recommendations are:
1. Lawrence Of Arabia
2. Lawrence Of Arabia
3. Lawrence Of Arabia
Ha! Sorry about that; I'm a bit biased because Lawrence Of Arabia is my all time favorite movie in the whole universe for like infinity +1. There are no words strong enough in any language to describe the perfection that is this movie.
Others from your list you absolutely need to watch: 12 Angry Men, Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind, Singin' In The Rain, Cabaret and All The President's Men. I love every single one of these.
Also: I strongly agree with Jinsai on Suddenly Last Summer and The Haunting.
Something that's not on your list: from the Marx Brothers Duck Soup and Monkey Business; The General (with Buster Keaton); Metropolis, King Kong (1933) and Nosferatu (1922).
And of course the funniest movie of all time: Some Like It Hot.
I just watched Fortress, one of my favorite movies from my childhood. It's still really good!
Limitless. Ugh.
I read the new one sucks. Not surprised.
Twixt, Francis Ford Coppola's latest film. What a massive turd. What an epic pile of cinematic filth. You don't deserve to watch this 80-minute disaster. It's easily one of the most horrendous things I've seen in years. It felt like a giant trollface staring at me. What a stupid, STUPID movie. Fuck, Francis.
Sherlock season 2. OH MY GOD. Is it possible to fall in love with a tv show, because I think I'm halfway there. Gorgeous tv!
Man, the premise is so contrived. I tried to suspend my disbelief, but the plot just kept getting worse and worse. Plus it was narrated, which is something I almost never like in a movie. It's completely and laughably not true that we only use 20% of our brains. Even if that were true, the way the drug works doesn't make sense. You can't learn a language that fast and have the accent down without actually talking to people from that country. A lot of the dialogue was just poorly written, and then near the end they manage to nuke the fridge, which is typically reserved for a later installment in a series, but they manage to do it in one movie. Basically it was a vehicle for some neat special effects.
I will be watching VHS soon. Has anyone seen this?
It looks like it could be good but the "You're all going to die up here" line and the switchblade shot look absolutely horrible. Plus Bloody Disgusting puts out some really terrible movies. That being said, found-footage movies tend to scare me even if they aren't the best so I may still have a good time.

I just started watching The Inbetweeners, a British show from a few years back. Really funny, and they definitely know how to beat a good joke to death. I finished Season 1 last night and will be starting season 2 tonight. Hilarious show
The Dictator. I expected to be mildly entertained. Instead, I was bursting with laughter every ten seconds or so. Loved it.
