The hotel lobby I'm in right now is playing a smooth jazz "Tequila" and boy I hate it.

I've been listening to this on repeat since a friend of mine turned me onto it. It's so good...It's like Jon Spencer blues explosion meets the Cramps.
A Kiss for the Whole World (by Enter Shikari)
Just came out today, trying to listen to it in-between meetings. which as it's only 33 minutes long should be fairly easy.
One of the most underrated covers to have come out of the 2000s.
Surprisingly good for working...
Been listening to Algiers' new album Shook all month. Their whole discography so far is terrific and Shook is no different - it may even be their best album yet. Saw them perform a couple weeks ago at Racket in NYC and was blown away. They've built up a following but too many people are sleeping on a band this great!

Fuck.
one of those albums that drops right when you need it. I've been going through a lot of stuff mentally and it's just nice to have fun uplifting music to listen to.
I won't be held captive
By my own idea of who I am
I won't be held captive
By my own opinion of myself
I won't be held captive
Even when my mind is a prison cellBut tell me
Does anybody even really have a clue
Who they really are?
Does anybody even really have a clue?
I don't know you anymore
I don't know you anymore
Or maybe I never did?
Yeah, maybe I nеver did
And maybe I nevеr will
Bit of a musical hole this one...I heard the original version of the song while out and about so Shazam'ed it because it was familiar but not immediately. Turns out it's a Siouxsie and the Banshees song. OK, but I've still never heard that particular version so it must have been a cover, so I go to youtube to see what covers I could find and this one popped up but it only came out 7 days ago.
Still trying to figure out what version I had heard previously. Maybe it was this one?Yup, can confirm.A cover by electronic artist Junkie XL was released as a single in 2008, and included on the Booming Back at You album; the soundtrack for the racing video game Burnout Paradise and the compilation album OMFGG – Original Music Featured on Gossip Girl No. 1.
Eisbrecher - Was ist hier los? (Offizielles Musikvideo)
Well that's depressing af
Also it's not kidding when that warning pops up BTW, hence why it won't play here.
I know what the thumbnail is - you have to pull people in somehow - but this is the warning that is on the YouTube page and prefaces the video:
If you know what German Schlager is you're probably wondering why death or any of the other scene warnings are in there. Just...yeah.WARNING:This video deals with sensitive issues, including German Schlager and death. It contains scenes that could be s*xual, graphic or taboo in nature.Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
They really should have gotten the nod for Germany's entry to Eurovision.
just gave the new Lead Into Gold a listen, The Eternal Present, I liked it. I dig it.
Kind of gave me Filth Pig vibes and yet still it's own thing.
Found this band through NIN's Recommended Listening Spotify Playlist.
The entire album is pretty excellent and you can feel some of its influence on Hesitation Marks which came out a few years after.
I've had this on repeat since it dropped. I think I'm starting to turn into a werewolf or a Dragon .Seriously I need to stop.
lol, that's actually why I was listening to the original. I remember playing it in Guitar Hero on repeat for about a whole hour, it's just such a fun song.
After seeing this posted to r/music constantly - like 2-3x a day at one point - I finally watched it after seeing three different people do reaction videos to it. It's pretty good, yeah. Especially with me being assaulted almost daily by an inner voice that likes to remind me of every time I've fucked up over the past 15 years and how those decisions have snow-balled to my current depressive episodes.
The guitar is like a mix of -M- (of French music fame) and Tim Reynolds (he of Dave Matthews solo tour fame) at parts. Very interesting sound.
Because I now have the song stuck in my head trying to figure out the guitar/vocal sound it was reminding me of...
