How many disks are you in?

I managed to go through them once last year and I've heard "I Promise" enough times to never want to hear this song ever again in my life.

Psych rock from Italy. I've been raving about this band for a while and their newest record "vyvyd" will tie me over perfectly until BRMC drop their newest record:

Most WTF collab of all time? Kool Keith, Scorn and Submerged. And, somehow, it works. @bobbie solo

Thanks for posting this. I’m listening to their new album right now, and I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

Flea and John recorded a cover version of Gang of Four's Not Great Men. Great guitar tone. It would be cool if the new RHCP went back to this sound on whatever it is they are recording now.

Picked this up because of the R. Crumb album cover.
    Definitely an era.

You know what is difficult? Making a playlist for an 8th grade parade/party that is comprised entirely of their suggestions. I'll have to get a screenshot of the full list for upload but for reference: Eazy-E and Nate Dogg were on the list as well as BTS and One Direction. I have to screen each song for lyrics, so yay for the databases for that! But I still have to listen to everything to make sure it's not too slow - looking at you Mac Miller - and also to make sure the songs flow at least a little.

It's not well done but it is 2.5 hrs of music for a two-hour event (need some overlap).

    You poor thing.
I was educated last week at work. My colleagues (with kids) looked at me in disbelief when I said I have no clue whatsoever what the fuck a "BTS" is.
For a split second there I thought I was lacking some important piece of general knowledge and was like "dang that could get embarassing, girl.." to myself until they enlightened me. Then I was like "ah, whatever, who gives a shit.."

I've now spent another hour on this because "the speaker has a USB port?" was the response from the school. Last year they used the CD player at the stadium but apparently it's under construction so we're left with this...choice.

    The actual playlist, 2:23:
John Williams - The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)
Lana Del Ray - Diet Mountain Dew
Ethan Fields - Cooler Than Me
Bruno Mars - Count on Me
Miley Cyrus - Party In The U.S.A.
    AJR - BANG!
All Time Low - Monsters (feat. Demi Lovato and blackbear)
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
American Authors - Best Day Of My Life
    Billie Eilish - bad guy
    Taylor Swift - Fearless
I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - Do It All The Time
Capital Cities - Safe And Sound
Tour the States - Official Music Video
    Led Zeppelin - Black Dog
Queen - We Are The Champions
The Script - Hall of Fame ft. will.i.am
    Cupid - Cupid Shuffle
Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)
    Maroon 5 - Memories
Post Malone - Sunflower ft. Swae Lee
Kendrick Lamar (Feat. SZA) - All The Stars
Los Ángeles Azules - Nunca Es Suficiente (feat. Natalia Lafourcade)
One Direction - Live While We're Young
Linked Horizon - Shinzo wo Sasageyo!
    Michael Jackson - Thriller
    BTS - Dynamite
    The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
    Outkast - Hey Ya!
Panic! At the Disco - High Hopes
    Katy Perry - Firework
Save Ferris - Come On Eileen
    PUBLIC - Make You Mine
    The Killers - Mr Brightside
Panic! At the Disco - The Greatest Show
    SCREEN mode - Reason Living
System of a Down - Question!
Tokyo Machine & Weird Genius - Last Summer feat. Lights
    Imagine Dragons - It's Time
Gym Class Heroes - Cupid's Chokehold / Breakfast In America (Radio Mix)
    Vance Joy - Riptide
Yes, someone wanted an actual educational song on this. And Cupid Shuffle? oh my lords, I didn't know there was a more annoying song in the world. Apparently it's hugely popular with the kids though?

The only song that I had to substitute was for Come on Eileen. The original version is from the 80s and I don't know if you know this but music was mixed a lot lower back then. I didn't want to crank the volume on the file so I just used the Save Ferris version instead. Also there's a sizeable Hispanic population at the school hence those choices. BTS I get, they're huge, but the other songs? I mean sure Attack on Titan is (was?) a popular show but the other one I don't have a clue, maybe a youtube algorithm suggestion or something.

This is the no-go list. Most were because you can't have that many Taylor Swift songs, anonymous 8th grader! but others were due to being depressing (again, looking at you Mac Miller) or not appropriate (who hurt you, anonymous 8th grader who wanted a Requiem* played?) or just unable to find a censored version because the whole damn song would be an instrumental or just too Christian for an ostensibly state-sponsored event (it's being held at the school).

Also I'm pretty sure at least one of those songs was AI-generated because it was so terribly cliched for a dubstep song.

    Ariana Grande - sweetener
Billie Eilish - everything i wanted
Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am
Bossfight & Philip Strand - Voices
    Bruno Mars - Young Girls
    BTS - Butter
    BTS - Home
Cage The Elephant - Cigarette Daydreams
    Chase Atlantic - Friends
    Cody Fry - I Hear a Symphony
    COIN - Talk Too Much
    Eazy E - No More Question's
    Increibles
    J. Cole - No Role Modelz
    J.I. - Love Won’t Change
John Williams - Duel of the Fates
John Williams - Star Wars Main Title
    Jon Kuwada - Cherry Cola
    Jordan St. Cyr - Fires
Lecrae Ft Andy Mineo - Coming In Hot
    Lil Tecca - DUI
    Lil Tecca - Never Left
    Lorde - Team
Los Retros - Someone To Spend Time With
Luis Fonsi - Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee
Mac Miller - Come Back To Earth
Maddie & Tae - Shut Up And Fish
Meghan Trainor - Like I'm Gonna Lose You ft. John Legend
    Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal
Mozart - Requiem Mass in D Minor, K. 626: III. Lacrimosa
My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade
    Niall Horan - This Town
    Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u
One Direction - Best Song Ever
    One Direction - Clouds
    One Direction - Midnight Memories
    P!NK - All I Know So Far
Panic! At The Disco - Hey Look Ma, I Made It
Panic! At the Disco - Victorious
Panic! At The Disco: Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time
Phil Wickham - It's Always Been You
    Phoebe Bridgers - Motion Sickness
Post Malone - Congratulations ft Quavo
Stars Go Dim - You Know Me Better
Stephen Sharer - When I See You Again
    T & Sugah x NCT - Stardust (feat. Miyoki)
Taylor Swift - Better Than Revenge
Taylor Swift - King of My Heart
    Taylor Swift - Mean
    Taylor Swift - Mine
    Taylor Swift - Style
    Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams
Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
The Beatles Run For Your Life
    The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather
    Tom Petty - American Girl
Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance
Warren G - Regulate ft. Nate Dogg
Willow Smith - Wait a Minute!
    ZAYN - There You Are
*Don't get me wrong, that 8th grader is probably pretty cool but also no way that's being played.
