It's really good. It amuses me that my initials are on the album cover.

This was and remains such a landmark album for me. It really blew the doors of my brain when it came to music and what a rock opera or concept album could be. Lynch's Eraserhead did that for me with film, completely altered forever the way I approached the medium, and this really does that for music with me. It's sprawling, it's insane, it's poetic, it's nonsense, it's catchy, it's completely structureless, it's loud and blasting and clattering and so full of noise you have no idea what is going on in the mix and it's like being trapped in some insane sinking machine, it's quiet and sparse and gentle and simple and comforting. It's absolutely powerful and completely cutting. It's gorgeous and heartbreaking. It's the most incredible love letter to a dead friend, an attempt to understand someone you loved and cared for rather than condemn them for who they were, it's such a sincere and incredible piece of art. It's practically impossible to not listen to it as a full album and it's one that exploded like a grenade in my head and the shrapnel is still lodged in deep someplace in there, stuck between lobes and coiled around the stem.
Really feelin' Beach Slang these days...Pixies meets Ryan Adams' "Rock 'n' Roll" album meets surfer rock. Crank it.
Modern Life is War. just found out about this band from what i have heard i like it so far.
Limitless Potential.
I kept only about 1/3 of the songs back then (if I knew back then, what I know right now), but they're quite good, I almost forgot. Actually so good that I sometimes say something random to coworkers like "I'm afraid I'm gonna ask you to leave" which may sound a bit strange... but they're used to me already. ;-)
Update: Actually, I kept 11 songs, more than a half - proof that I like them, when they pass so quickly I thought it is 1/3...
