I'm listening to Pokey LaFarge, anyone know this cat?

I swear this guy fell straight out of a Coen Bros. movie like "O' Brother Where Art Thou?" or something.

    I love these tunes!

Shirley just sounds really passionate especially in the outro chorus thingy that goes on for a while and the loud guitars feel like they're hitting you with a wall when they come in.

Poison the Well's discography, assuming you start with The Opposite of December, is flawless.

what the fuck...i've had this song stuck in my head all week and i pulled out this album to put in my "records to play" queue on tuesday. o.O

PS have i ever told you/shown you that i have one of the very rare test pressings of "the tropic rot" on vinyl? a (former) friend gave it to me for x-mas one year...pretty sure she bought it directly off chris hornbrook. still so mad it never got a proper vinyl release because it's so good.

Been listening to You Come Before You all week.

You have mentioned it, yes, and I knew it was coming up again when I saw you quoted me.

I really want to get a good-sounding remaster of the first few albums but without the stupid Sharon bullshit, I want the original performers. does this exist?

The 30th Anniversary Editions restored the original instrumentation, but the general consensus is that the remasters are average at best (compression). There is a digital 40th Anniversary Edition of Blizzard of Ozz on the way.

The 1995 remasters are still considered the best ones, as far as I know.
