I'm not sure if bootlegs are ok, so let's just say I'm listening to Pretty Hate Machine.
Lady Gaga was self aware pop. Poppy was ULTRA self aware pop. SOPHIE was pop deconstructed.
100 gecs is pop with a fucking nuclear weapon exploded underneath it.
My latest rock mixtape.... loudly... in headphones... because I'm worth it.
Kawphy-tel presents: Mr. Lobster's Shiny Rock Pile (Vol. 11 - "It's one louder!")
The artist walks among the flowers
Appreciating the sun
He does this all his waking hours
But is it really so wrong
They sit in front of their TVs
Saying, "hey, this is fun"
And they laugh at the artist
Saying, "he doesn't know how to have fun"
The best things in life are truly free
Singing birds and laughing bees
You got me wrong says he
The sun don't shine in your TV

Say what you want about Taylor Swift but this even more stripped down version of her new album is genuinely great.
My apologies if this is a repeat:
I need a whole ass album from this supergroup like... yesterday.
Oh man, I used to have those tracks and I just checked but they don't appear to have made the trek to the new computer...dammit. guess I have to find them again, thanks for the reminder!

Even better!
This whole album was fucking fantastic!! Definitely in my top 10 of 2020. It was the best Smashing Pumpkins record of 2020!
And here are a couple recent releases that have been captivating me. This one gives me some pretty strong Marilyn Manson vibes, but its more mature and controlled, and therefore more sinister. The whole record is creepy, seductive, and interesting.. It's like if Swans did a Marilyn Manson record. It could use a few more really standout tracks to be a true breakthrough album, but it's close.
And this is from a side project of Dan Barrett's (most well known for his Have a Nice Life project). The album feels a little rough and uneven to me but there are some fantastic songs and genuinely shocking moments. The first track is a good taste of what is to offer:

wow Madlib & Four Ter collabo album coming. So excited to see what else we get.
All The Jesus Lizard albums. Love them.
emma ruth rundle & thou have created maybe the greatest album to ever exist. i feel like i need to quit making music because of how amazing this is.
Not entirely sure where this record sits with me, but it's truly outstanding. Not the biggest Thou fan tbh, but Emma slays on this one. Wish I had a ticket for Roadburn last year (the whole line-up was a dream to come true), hope to witness something alike when she is curating the festival with Perturbator in 2022 (argh!).
i'm a huge fan of both (been following emma since she joined red sparrowes and fell in love with thou a few years ago) and i even saw them when they were touring together (but sadly not on one of the collaborative nights of the tour). this album is definitely a perfect example of "greater than the sum of its parts", which is saying a lot.
