Every element really just comes together so fucking perfectly, every looping guitar, every moody synth, Smith's tortured vocals, it all comes out so well. It's one of those albums where I can't help but feel something from it every time I've put it on. It's just so immediate, so sincere, so strong.
I feel that one could take that paragraph almost word for word and apply it to Pornography instead but with one exception; the word "Beautiful" would only apply to Disintegration. It's flawless. It was once of those albums I could not listen to more than once in a while when I first got it, because sweet Christ, the feelings it inspired in my teenage self. My chest felt heavy after the first listen. It was indeed raining, as I recall. And here I am, past thirty, and it still gets me every time.

Getting psyched up for the show on the 3rd in denver.

    Check these guys out.
the drummer is an old friend and they come from dallas, so I've seen them 50 plus times (permanent gust list does that ) They were a BIG part of the soundtrack to my life as a youngster.
    Now they are called legends.

They defy being pinned down to a genre. Just when i thought i had them figured out, they would put out an album that was more brit pop than country rock.

Their lyrics are SUPER witty and wry. They have a lot of great heartbreak songs.

I KNOW a lot of you would get a kick out of The Old 97's. I think that they are most DEFINITELY the best thing to ever come out of Dallas.

Holy shit. This new Jamie xx LP is a huuuuuuge contender for AOTY. Get it ASAP.[/QUOTE]

Pitchfork kicked me in the ass to finally getting around to listening to it and it really is great. it has an emotional feel to it that surprised me very much. Could this be a new XX album just under Jaime XX? or is that too far of a stretch?

Just found out about this guy. Mario Diaz De Leon.
    Noisy avant-garde sax and synth.

    SPC ECO - Dark Matter

    https://spceco.bandcamp.com/album/dark-matter

(I already mentioned SPC ECO here in the past, Dean Garcia from ex-Curve with his daughter, dense electronic/guitar sound, airy voice, beautiful.)

This album sounds like a combination of The XX, Burial and NIN to me. Beautiful musical landscapes and steady flow.

EDIT: I just read that Four Tet had a hand in producing this album. That would explain the Burial/Four Tet sound this album has. I love it.

I know everyone hates this album but it was the first I ever bought so maybe I'm biased? I dig this album a lot, still do. This remix of the title track is good too:

You ever heard the Meshuggah "remix" of Benzin? I love Meshuggah, so naturally love the remix, but think it's well worth checking out anyway

Combustion Mix is it not? I have every single, remix and EP from Rosenrot days on my iTunes. It's also good. Heavy shit.

Yea the Combustion mix. Basically a Meshuggah song set to Rammstein vocals. Story goes that Meshuggah have no ties at all to Rammstein, no contact, they just randomly received the track and were asked to produce a remix. I love the feel of that track. So much groove

finally listening to my (properly pressed) copy of "Your funeral...my trial" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. as with the other reissues, it sounds fantastic. but this one particularly so. i really wish more things were pressed on 180g vinyl and mastered at 45rpm because it makes a HUGE difference.

I tried to listen to the new Bjork album again last night, and it just isn't working for me. The first time I heard it, I thought it would grow on me, but the opposite is the case here. There's some brilliant and beautiful moments in there, some of the arrangements are great, but on a whole it just feels really boring.

Loved it, i actually liked it better than the original mix ...but it's funny that there's a KMFDM remix for a PIG song, it's like hearing a "Radiohead" remix to a Tom Yorke song, lol...
