Finally checking out Ilan's solo project:
Fucking fantastic.
Have had to do a lot of driving over the past couple of days and have had this stuck on the whole time. Excellent album - going to have to slot it in my year end list somewhere.

Love this remix album.
System of a Down are one of the first bands I remember really getting into on my own, and I still feel like Serj Tankian's solo output is better than anything they did after Toxicity. I hardly listen to any of it anymore, but every now and then I go back to this stuff, and Elect the Dead always surprises me. For whatever reason I forget about it often, and whenever I give it another spin, it's so much better than I remember it being. From Honking Antelope to the end of the album, it's damn near flawless, and as a whole it sounds far more refined and developed than the last two SOAD albums. Just a great example of a musician going from a collaborative group to a solo project and doing it right.
UNKLE
Some unreleased Prince stuff
The Style Council
P.i.L
Johnny Cash, the American Recordings
Another track from my favorite Swedish band:
I know they kind of get shit on around here from time to time but hey, Trent likes them and so do I. This song got me so hooked on them, first thing I remember hearing. Addictively dreamy synth and Cure-style guitar, smooth vocals, female harmony, moody and borderline whiney lyrics, it's just got pretty much everything I get unreasonably happy over.
