Promising new music from My Dying Bride, one of my favorite metal bands when I was active on the nin.com forums.

Been trying to catch up on my metal lately after having been largely slacking for a few years. There were periods of time in which I was listening to more POP than metal, not that I ever completely turned away from metal.

been listening to Botch again for the first time in forever bc of a recent article I read about their tour with DEP back in 1999. Man this band is so good.

The new Carcass album is probably the one thing I am most excited for in 2020 (excluding potential nin). As much as I think this is a great track, it does have that b-side vibe to it. I hope they do what they did last time and release an ep of the stuff that doesn't make the album.

By the way, Surgical Steel is possibly the best comeback album ever!

Big into this. Kristin (Lingua Ignota), Lee (The Body), and Dylan (Full of Hell) have formed a new industrial noise project Sightless Pit.

Bandcamp is sold out, so had to order it from Thrill Jockey, but vinyl of the new album Grave Of A Dog still up for now...

Surgical Steel is my favorite Carcass album aside from Necroticism. Pretty much every song on Surgical Steel rips.

Both albums are, of course, amazing... but Heartwork? That album is a complete masterpiece.

Heartwork is good but not my favorite. I kinda don't even try and rank Reek of Putrefaction and Symphonies of Sickness with the others since they're a different beast.

1000% does not disappoint. I'm so fucking ready for a new CODE ORANGE album. Is this going to be the album that rockets them into arenas?

That song covers all their tastes in one fell swoop. Impressive. As long as this is balanced with some material that is still heavy as fuck & makes me want to shoot puppies into the sun with a rocket launcher, I'm in!

Almost got that one, but went for the glow in the dark blue, black, and navy colorway. The variants for this release are on point.

Hard to want to support them since they're releasing the album with CJ's vocals.

CJ has better vocals than Tom in my opinion unless there's more to the story I don't know.

I still think Flesh Coffin is their best album, but I can't say I'm overly familiar with a lot of their stuff.

Holy shit this band is amazing! Would love to see them at Paradise Rock Club but an old geezer like me does not belong there.

Why not? Stand up on the balcony if you don't want to be in the pit. You're never too old.
