I remember reading somewhere that MJ was a big fan of The Downward Spiral.

Yeah, that would have been a badass collaboration.

    BEYOND THUNDERDOME

    drums - gavin harrison
    drums - joey baron
    bass - brian cook
    guitar - matt weed
    guitar - wes borland
    guitar - aaron turner
    keys/electronics - josh eustis
    electronics/projections - peter christopherson
    saxophone - colin stetson
    saxophone - john zorn
    vocals - mike patton
    vocals - chelsea wolfe

i was considering trevor dunn for bass as he's more of a virtuoso player, but brian's style is so undeniably great. also, i realize three guitar players and two saxophonists may be overkill, but, hey, it's a supergroup!

Very pigeon holed to a small set of musicians and mainly two bands but I think it’d be an awesome mix.

    Backing Vocals: Chino Moreno
Guitars: Martin L. Gore, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez
    Bass: Josh Homme
    Drums: Danny Carey
    Synths, Atmospherics, Programming: Trent Reznor
Lyrics: Maynard James Keenan & Martin L. Gore
Producers: Trent Reznor, Alan Moulder & Flood

The vision: To take the sound of 90's Depeche Mode (mainly Ultra) and add complexity, a layer of more darkness, and guitar experimentation and more overall grit and anger. Chino's side band Crosses or Deftones' song Passenger with more soulful blues-y guitar would be a good starting point. I think this lineup could pretty dynamic as far as having something melodic and full-on balls to the wall sounds and rhythms.
