    Exactly.

I don't think anyone wants completely open borders, but building a wall is a medieval approach to illegal immigration, and I think the majority of people are aware of that. The question is whether those people think that's a good thing or a bad thing.

No it's not, and no, you don't.

You are a Canadian citizen with a valid passport that grants you temporary entrance to the US via official, highly regulated channels. You're nothing but a tourist. Try strolling across the Peace Bridge with no ID and nothing but the clothes on your back. Tell me how far into the US you get.

The people "the wall" is intended to stop are those without passports who are trying to seek asylum in the United States. Come here permanently, find housing, find jobs, make a living. Wayyyyyy different. And the people for it are generally those who believe that literally ALL Mexicans are horrible rapey murderers who are coming to simultaneously live off of welfare AND steal our jobs. The people against it are that way for a large and varying number of reasons, from morality to common sense.

And if you don't follow politics because you "hate all of it," congratulations, you live a very privileged life. Clearly politics don't affect your ability to receive health care, your ability to live where you want to live, your ability to make choices about your own body....I could go on.

    1) There’s part of your answer.
    2) Do folks actually believe this?
    3) Dare you to try this as a brown person entering from the other border.

New book out today called “Deep State: Trump the FBI and the Rule of Law” by James B. Stewart. He interviews Steve Bannon to which Bannon states the Deep State is indeed a conspiracy theory. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...piracy-theory/

Bipartisan Senate report released today finds that the Kremlin directed social media meddling in an attempt to elect Trump

This is kind of a big fucking deal for no other reason than while this is kind of "duh" info to people who have been listening, this is the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee releasing this.

And now the White House has formally stated that it will not, in any way, shape, or form, cooperate with any aspect of the impeachment investigation - based largely on their interpretation of "since a formal vote regarding an inquiry has not been made, there is no inquiry to cooperate with". @Cat Mom , is that true? Article I read basically said "GOP claims no vote = no investigation" and "Pelosi says that's a load of cock". But the reporting doesn't really get into who's technically right.

Regardless of whether a formal vote is truly required, the Orange One's sure picking a great time to start caring at all about the Constitutional process.

We don’t have a lot of history in this area. Generally, anything done in Congress requires a resolution. The Nixon impeachment inquiry started with a resolution. There was no impeachment inquiry with Clinton because the House used the materials from the very extensive Starr investigation.

Edit: according to Lawfare, a resolution or vote is not required because the Constitution does not require either and there are no House rules that require either:

    And elaborate tunnels.

The wall project is now tearing through Organ Pipe National Monument in Arizona, and bulldozing 100-yr-old saguaro cacti. It’s devastating.

Live updates of Turkey's "military offensive" in Syria.

    https://www.cnn.com/middleeast/live-...ntl/index.html

While history will not remember this administration fondly on basically any front, this is a preventable atrocity, and the US is to blame.

We should've never been in Syria in the first place.

I'm sick of the United States going to the Middle East only to make things much worse. Of course this all started with Bush lying about Iraq and removing Saddam who kept Iran in check.

At this point i'm fully expecting him to tweet out he is bigger then Jesus...maybe he already tried to and someone stopped him, but it does sound like something he'd believe!

He doesn't need to; he's got other people for that.

Trump in danger of losing "the mandate of heaven" over Syria decision

You hear that? God himself has mandated that Trump must be our president.

    From today's WSJ article:

Messrs. Parnas and Fruman also worked to oust the ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, whom Mr. Trump had removed from her post this spring.
OH HOLY CRAP, this has been brewing for a while ... July 22, 2019.
