So any thoughts on the remastered 3/VC/SA trilogy coming up? It's being released on November 11th supposedly.

Screenshots and a trailer are out now.

I think the main issues for me is that Rockstar Games are selling them full price and that on PC we're stuck using their crappy storefront and launcher.

I'm excited to play them again. It's been a long time. Especially San Andreas. I miss using that fighter jet as my primary mode of transportation.

They are going to re-release these games, along with Skyrim, until the end of time.

I mean…Sam Andreas is coming to game pass and I’m damn sure gonna play it, but still.

I have an XBOX and GTAV and I'd REALLY like to get into it, but i'm a retro gamer. I beat Chinatown Wars, and I had the first one, but that's about it.

So, in GTA V, I got stuck at a part where I had to chase this dude on a motorcycle and shoot him, I think. It was early in the game.

Somebody told me that mission isn't even necessary.

Basically, I'm wondering: can walkthroughs help you with a sprawling game like this?

Shouldn't be $60, but I would honestly play one in full, and play some of the rest and never return to them ever again. I payed through 1, 2, 3, Vice City, and San Andreas like 5 times each, 4 I never finished and 5 I never touched.

Absolutely dude, you should be able to find distinctions in the walkthrough footage between story missions and side missions which should help.

I can't remember the exact thing you're describing though, been a long time now since i first played the game.

I had the first one. And I HAVE San Andreas and Vice City laying around here, along with a PS3 (somewhere.)

My room is such a fucking mess, though: I think the PS3 is in the floor somewhere. I had to move it when my friends bought me that xbox.

Mostly what I play is a retro handheld. I'll turn on the hacked Wii for Wii and GameCube now and then.

I’m ok w/ them asking for 60 bucks for a remastered version of 3 revolutionary games… I still feel stupid for paying 70 dollars for the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima… but really that’s my own dumb fault. I still have about 20 hours of stuff to dig through before I am caught up and ready to play Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker when it launches nov 19

Oh shit! I haven't bought a video game in a LONG time, but I just found out about GTA Trilogy and I'm all over that one for my Xbox one.

I'd rather get that than find and set up my PlayStation shit, honestly. I don't have ROOM for another console on my TV stand.

This is only 1 video, but there are a lot out there showing how lazy they were with this remaster Trilogy... That $60 price tag looking even more like a joke.

Does it look worse than the originals, though? I want it for convenience.

Here are some thoughts from a few of the big name youtube personalities. Seems like a very mixed bag with strange visual choices, performance problems, glitches etc.

I love games with glitches and I loved the old trilogy...I had the trilogy in the PS2 days but never beat any of them. downloading it now, can't wait to laugh, some of the glitches I'm watching online has me legit laughing out loud!

It's fine, I'm not sure why people expect such a smooth and perfect transition. I'll take a sacrifice in some esoteric old school element for modern controls every day. Been playing them on switch and Xbox and it's totally fine

I'm being serious. This happens every time. Modern upgrade of super old game loses a bunch in translation, ends up with bugs.

In a perfect world, sure it would be aore thoughtful upgrade maybe one where they rendered these all to look like GTA V or better or something. But that's not the world we love in. Look at all the other reissues this year, they've all been loathed by fans.

I'm watching a guy Twitch streaming San Andreas on their Xbox Series X using Game Pass, he's at Burning Desire (which is like the 24th mission) and it is fuuuuuuucked. This door to the building that you blow up with molotovs won't open for the NPC that you have to escort out.

    Completely prevents you from continuing.

Also this has got to be the ultimate insult toward the game devs.

Modders are fixing GTA Trilogy's rain already

Leave it to the community to pick up the slack, although considering how often modders have been burned alive at the stake by Rockstar Games, i really don't know why they fucking bother anymore.

This does not happen every time at all. My job is literally editing videos for a content creator that reviews games... There is no explanation for such a shitty port. The fact that fans have to pick up the slack is absolutely unacceptable and MOST of the remastered games were delayed to prevent this. Not all run smoothly, but the community shouldn't have to constantly fix things.

Grove Street Games has worked on mobile ports almost exclusively and here you have Rockstar
... They knew what they were doing and It was simply left in the hands of the wrong studio... **Coughs** Cash grab.

    Spyro
    Crash
    Medievil
    Modern Warefare 2
    Shadow of Colossus
    Panzer Dragoon

All ran wonderful at launch. Prince of Persia was set to come out and it has been delayed for over a year now due to outrage for how it looked. Rockstar embargoes the gameplay and flashes in front of you all the pretty stuff, so fans had no idea what they were getting themselves into... And here we are. Sorry, but I'm done accepting the bare minimum.

Not to mention, the original GTA Trilogy being pulled off of steam so you are now forced to buy this version. It's a shitty tactic all around...

Here's the big kahuna of technical gaming breakdowns and comparisons. Starting with GTA 3.

Well...I guess I'm gonna wait till the fixed version is on game pass next year.

    Time goes really fast.

I'm WAY more concerned about getting the Anbernic 552 in a few weeks, with that sleek form factor and 100% PSP/DC/N64 perfection.

Don't there supposed to be GTA on PSP?

having a blast with it on the switch lite. So far, I've only played 3. crazy...been almost 20 years and yet the layout of the city came back to me very quickly. only a couple of glitches so far, nothing too bad. doesn't look too bad either. I was hoping for more glitches! I'm guessing there will be more in vice city and san andreas.

The other blatant issue here is that these games are from what is (last I checked) the most popular non-FPS game Series of all time? You’d think they could afford to make a better “definitive” offering. They should hire the guys who made Demons Souls HD and just do it over. They can afford it

Right? Like....they've sold 155 million copies of GTA V to date, i don't know what that equates to but combine that with all the GTA Online bullshit and I'm sure it's a big slice of cheese. If they actually put it to use and made the kind of product that they are usually known for they'd rake in a fortune. I guess they aren't that interested in quality standards anymore, typical corporate goon shenanigans.

GTA Online is one of the most boring, pointless and downright mediocre MP games out there.

While not officially saying it's going to be called 'VI', Rockstar has just confirmed that some of their team will continue working on GTA Online but that development of the next entry in the series is 'well underway'.

How could it not be GTA: VIce city. No way they are missing out on using that, right?
