Robert spoke to a fan and said they're planning on their next Trilogy tour which will be The Top / The Head on the Door / Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me.

Don't hold your breath. The stuff that comes out of his mouth has made for some great disappointments over all these years...

I hope they record it and release it like they did the first Trilogy. Also I hope we see a Reflections release surface one day.

No offense, but why would anyone want to hear Wild Mood Swings from start to finish live? Easily The Cure's worst album by a landslide. I'd rather hear Wish/Bloodflowers/ST if that were ever to be a thing.

Which is sad because I actually think self-titled is just as good as WMS.
Ugh, I quoted the wrong post. Yay me.

I meant about the information given to the fan. That sort of off the cuff talk has led to many excited moments that never materialized.

I'd go to all of them. I'm not that picky. I'd see them all live. Even though I may not like a good deal of WMS, and actually like more of Eponymous...

I'd be all over the self-titled set. That album is so neglected.

I would go if they played the self titled. It's different, but not in a bad way. It's got a more modern vibe about it and a total departure from anything else they've done. I like it.

There's no way I'd pay, or even sit through a WMS set. I wouldn't even go if it was free. They already play the songs I like from the album, so I say stick with that.

And, it'd be kinda cool if they played some Bloodflowers. That stuff never gets played.

I like The 13th. The other songs you mentioned, not so much. Club America isn't awful, but it's nothing I'd consider memorable either. The bsides, ironically enough, are amazing. One of these days I'll make a playlist mixing the bsides in, and taking out the baddies.

And imo, I think alot of Bloodflowers would mix in well with the other stuff (The Loudest Sound, The Last Day of Summer, etc). At the very least, Maybe Someday. Think it's kinda weird that's the only album they play nothing from anymore, at all.

the problem with every album since wish is that there are a handful of brilliant songs from each era, overshadowed by the terrible ones. the exception to the rule is bloodflowers, which is pretty solid all the way through, with the weakest link being 'there is no if' (or 'coming up' if you count UK bonus). on the last tour in the states (4:13 not reflections)- i saw a set that started like the dream tour did--- with 'out of this world' playing into 'want', with the main set closing with 'bloodflowers'- so it's still on the table sometimes...

wild mood swings boasts some really terrible songs ('round and round and round' and 'return' for example) but 'want,' 'jupiter crash,' 'treasure,' 'this is a lie,' etc. are great. 'want' is especially amazing live, and i feel like i've seen it about 2/3rds of the time i've seen them, so they seem to be very fond of it too. wild mood swings is best with this formula, cutting all the crap and adding in the superior b-sides:

    want
    this is a lie
    the 13th (i like it)
    adonais
    waiting
    jupiter crash
    a pink dream
    treasure
    it used to be me
    bare

    i could get behind that...

the self-titled could be better but really the production is bullshit... really too sterile and loud, one of the few times that 'brickwalling' really bugs me... and of course, it suffers from the above... a few great songs ('anniversary' being the standout) and a lot of crap, but some solid b-sides. i prefer 'this morning' and 'going nowhere' more than almost anything else on that album. 4:13 dream is pretty awful to my ears though, outside of 'underneath the stars'... it's really frustrating because the band is clearly capable of playing some stunners and tapping into what made them great, but the obsession with being a pop act is really kind of throttling the quality of the material.

so, long story short, i would NOT like to see a tour of just the recent stuff, nor do i think the band would actually do that. as for the next three album tours--- i've been hearing that rumor for a few years now... i'll believe it when i see it...

Yeah, I'm on standby, holding my previous post, ready to eat the words anytime. Well, I'd like them to put it off just a little, so I can rebuild my account from the damage my job did to my paychecks a few months ago. I am one of the few that puts The Top in my list of favorite albums of all time. And Kiss Me would be magnificent. It looks like "Torture" was also debuted. I'm not going to miss this, if given a clear chance. I missed the other Trilogies, damn it.

The show they did back in April 21st in Mexico City was awesome, i was there and they played for 4 hours and 16 minutes (making it the longest The Cure show ever!)

    They LOVE mexico!

This is so bizarre, I was just thinking the other day why they don't play this song live ever, and...

    Fuse TV @fusetv
The Cure are playing "Burn" right now at @VoodooNola. Anybody else love 'The Crow' soundtrack? So good.

Epic! So after nearly 20 years of never playing this song live, it finally gets played live. Probably one of my favourite Cure songs. And you know what this means? There is STILL Hope that "The Perfect Drug" can get played live!

I'm so excited this was played live. Burn was the song that made me fall in love with The Cure and it was my favorite song for the longest time. Even if they don't play it again, at least someone recorded it.

Can't believe they finally played "Burn"!

This track was also the one that got me into The Cure.

Man, The Crow soundtrack introduced me to all kinds of goodness back then.

yeah, the soundtrack has long transcended the movie it's attached to. i have many more memories to the soundtrack than i do the film.

i didn't want to spoil it, but i had heard they were playing 'burn' a few weeks beforehand, and almost made the trip down just for that one song. i'm not sure why it's taken them so long to get around to it, but better late than never. i love that anything is fair game at cure shows (the first time i saw them, i was 17, had no idea about the 3 hour setlists, and was so psyched to hear 'like cockatoos' and 'siamese twins'). 'stop dead,' 'give me it,' and 'birdmad girl' have been making regular appearances in recent setlists, now if they'd only do a proper tour...

The Cure is definitely on my bucket list. Them and Duran Duran are the only bands that I really, really want to see that I haven't yet.

I'm looking to hear more The Cure. I've only ever had Boys Don't Cry, Seventeen Seconds, Pornography, The Head on the Door, and Disintegration. Rather than asking what other albums I should get, are there any albums by them to just completely avoid or does every album have something to it?

Every album has something to it.

People would tell you to avoid Wild Mood Swings, but it has amazing songs like "Want," "Jupiter Crash" and "Treasure," as well as all of the b-sides being of epic quality, so don't avoid anything.

Get the Join The Dots box set for (most) of their b-sides, most of which would have made better album tracks.

Why does Join The Dots have 10:15 Saturday Night? That's on both Boys Don't Cry and Three Imaginary Boys

It was also the b-side to "Killing An Arab", so I guess they stuck it on there for the sake of completeness.
