Lost World is definitely the best of the three films, and not just because Jeff Goldblum plays the main character. i really love that freakin' movie.

I remember being a little kid and re-enacting the ENTIRE movie with one of my childhood friends in his basement with all the figures. He even had the toy trailer. Shit got real. Definitely a favorite, but I'm not sure if I prefer it over the first movie or not.

Moved on to Boss, with Kelsey Grammer. Again, didn't expect much, but so far it's good.

Just wrapped up Unbreakable. Damn, that was good. Really good. It's a shame M. Night Bambalam can't get back to that level.
Considering starting an episode of The Wire or Twin Peaks. Both have been on my watch list for too long...

If you haven't watched The Wire before, I feel obligated to warn you that it takes some time to get into. The only thing that kept me going through the first 5 or 6 episodes was all the praise I've heard for it from other people. Not that it's bad at first or anything, it's awesome, but there are a lot of characters to remember and keep track of, kind of like Game of Thrones-ish. After I finished the first season and totally knew who everyone was and what their plans were, I re-watched the first few episodes and was way more into it that time.

Ibanez is correct. The Wire has a lot going on but once you get into the rhythm of what makes The Towers, The Corners, The Cops and all that drive them you can sit back and watch it artfully unfold. It's truly amazing in my opinion and I only just finished Season 3.

I'm definitely prepared to do that, haha. But from what I've heard about the Twin Peaks, it sounds like something I'd really like! I don't mind if The Wire starts as a slow burner at first, either. I've seen David Simon around a few times and I really like what the guy has to say, so I have no doubt I'd like his show eventually, if not right away.
Besides, generally speaking, ETS is a pretty good gauge for finding stuff I like!

When I first watched Twin Peaks, I didn't get it. I thought it was dumb and goofy. After a little while, I went back to it and it completely ran through the series. By the second episode, and when you see the red room, things start to make sense (kinda). The second season struggled a little bit though, but I still enjoyed it.

scream 4 was surprisingly good. i think it's actually my favourite. i was really hesitant to watch it because i've always loved those movies, and i was afraid they were going to ruin the series...but they did it perfect justice and i loved it.

That's Lynch for you. Go watch Blue Velvet and be completely creeped out. His take on the American society is pretty freaking sad.

It's amazing how great she looked then and how great she looks now. I too love Ladies & Gentlemen: We are the Fabulous Stains. She was really smokin' in Rumble Fish.
I just saw Noah Baumbach's Highball. No wonder it's so obscure. It was terrible. It's a bad mess of a film. I like Baumbach but I didn't like this one.

Same here, currently up to Katherine Howard. The show practically invites you to generate prejudice, what with all the bodice ripping in the intro, Jonathan Rhys Meyers looking nothing like Henry (and also not playing the part terribly well in the first season - total about-face on that later on though) and some anachronistic costume and hairstyle choices. I'd dismissed the show years ago as using history for a thin excuse to show pretty people bonking in period gear.
But it's turned out to be a pleasant surprise - though some of the story elements are inaccurate or coloured with opinions I can't agree with (they really want me to feel sorry for Thomas More?), the focus is firmly on the history, and it provides a highly immersive experience of the events. I've been enjoying it enormously.
