Took a trip to California last week to visit a friend of mine. I thought it was going to be a pretty relaxed trip, probably just hanging out around town, shooting the shitz but we ended up just driving three of the days I was there, just seeing where the road took us with no particular destination in mind.

Well, we ended up in Angeles National Forest one day and I hiked part (a very small part) of the Pacific Crest Trail. Which was pretty awesome. I thought I did pretty good (the hike was almost 3 hours which, for someone as out of shape as me, was pretty cool) but then I topped myself on Saturday when my friend and I went up to Red Rocks State Park and hiked to the top of a mountain! I guess that's probably amateur stuff to a lot of people but that was a first for me. It was a pretty incredible feeling when we got to the top. I took a bunch of pictures but they don't do the experience justice.

So yeah. It was a great trip. I am looking forward to going back at some point, though not any time soon (I am done with traveling for the year. Need to give my wallet a rest).

18 months ago. Well, technically, the procreation was initiated 9 months before that. You know how it works.

Coupla weeks early, so closer to 9 for us, actually.

Now I'm glad that we DIDN'T have a baby together, because we'd be squabbling.

Thanks. Certainly not me, right up until 3 years ago. But things change, the way you feel about things changes, and you realise while it's going to be tough having a toddler when you're in your late 40s, it's not going to get any easier if you do it later.

or that ghosts isn't a real album. or that HTDA is just trent. or that atticus doesn't do anything. he's always trying to make sure people are fully informed. and i love it.

p.s. @sheepdean not sheepdeen (like the head of the school, not the pornstar)

    Oh yeah.
I got all my issues squared away with my new jeep, and I've plasti dipped every bit of chrome on it black. I'm SO psyched with it, and I'm doing the gas cap door as we speak and I can't wait to see what that looks like when it's done.

Randomly ran into the girl I met the other night. We have plans for Saturday but I ended up song her tonight. Was nice (in general as well) to have an easy conversation with someone. But yeah, was a solid day off. Got a debit card coming, gonna finally get internets at home and a land line. Plus I'll be able to buy stuff online. Got a haircut today as well from a girl I work with who does that which turned out awesome.

    TLDR: Excellent day off.

Got a cheap'ish decent tripod, remote, and camera bag today. Sin I'll be taking pictures in all the trendy "dirty" alleys in town. Only if I do it'll be after dark. When the weirdos are out. I'm a newb so I'm sure it'll suck.

It's my daughter's first birthday today. My fiancé and I were just sitting outside and I saw a MASSIVE shooting star; so big I thought it was a firework let off by a neighbour.

Anyone know if seeing a shooting star on a birthday has any significance historically or superstitiously? @elevenism

I wanted to make a joke about how it presages devastation, plagues and the end of all mankind, but I couldn't find it in my heart to associate that with your child, even jokingly. Here's some superstition for you !
