really like the live album but i confess it gets tiring, for me, to listen to so much stuff in the new 'dream alt' style they're doing — it sounds great, but i'm also starting to fall asleep in the washes of delay.

every track. even the old ones have now been Telefon Tel Aviv'd — again, this isn't a bad thing. i'm super into TTA, it just makes me sleepy.
also there's usually some kind of break — "Toma," for example, gets all visceral and bombastic, so the only part that keeps the 'dream alt' thing going is the harmonized choruses. there's a bit of a 'wakeup' built in those.
the style has been there from the start, too. lots of songs on VIFV have the same approach but with more rhythmic involvement that kinda saves them from droning or floating in the same way as on COMP.
ultimately i find it easier to pay attention to EP-length Puscifer releases, i guess. C is for... is still my favourite release i think.
lol when I spoke to Josh in Vegas, I made a point to mention how prominent his style is on the new Puscifer (and how much I love that.) His response was "yeah any time it gets faggy and emo and electronic, that's usually me." Not sure why I'm bringing this up, but I thought it was funny (and also I was a bit offended that he called the music I like faggy and emo but I suppose it wouldn't make much sense to argue with the person who actually made it.)
^made me laugh
Also, Carina's version of REV22:20 is hot shit. Wow.
I initially skipped Momma Sed but went back and fell in love with it.
Any word about the Black Friday release? I'd be ever-so-indebted to anyone who passed on a link.
There's the version on V is, which is...different.
There's the version on C is, which is my favorite.
And there's the version on What Is, which is very similar to the one on "C".
I feel like I vaguely remember there being a version on the site at one point, and I think it was just a low bitrate version of the Club Nokia recording - which is what appears on C is For...
That's from one of the first shows when they debuted live in vegas back at the end of 2008. I have a rip of that and Trekka they did. The Trekka version on the streamed player is their Spaghetti Western version that's on the vinyl edition of "C" is For...
They never officially released that Momma Sed recording though.
The alternate live 'Momma Sed' is a shorter stripped down version. Lacking both percussion & climax it is far more ethereal than its counterpart. Harrowing and essential.
Video is live, in HD, expensive, and downloading now.
About 1/3 of the way through and loving it. Cheesy and then inspirational, then the music starts and it's really beautiful in its own right. I'm really hoping that somebody obtains a copy of the 8 Ball album. Some of the "documentary" footage is a teaser for that and I'd LOVE to hear it.
Has anyone who obtained "Puscifer's 8-Ball Bail Bonds - The Berger Barns Live In Phoenix" vinyl able to rip it so the rest of us can partake in it? It would be greatly appreciated if someone can point the direction to this elusive material. Mahalo!
Can I get a link?? (Both What is the...video and the 8 ball shitz!)
I am confused. If I order the DVD from Amazon, does it come with the live cd? Is that sold seperately?
The amazon listing seems to show it seperately but says it is out of stock.
Thank you
The DVD/CD I would agree to buying. the VINYL ONLY release presents a problem. Mjk, in his infinite wisdom, released a limited edition on a day where most of had to work. So if you missed out...you already have to buy it at scalpers prices for an item that was already been bought by someone. No reason in buying it now because its sold out. Mjk isn't making any more money off of it at this point. He got his $. And what about those without turntables?
Alas, I missed out on this item cuz I live on an island in the pacific ocean. I'm SOL until mjk wants to release this in a more traditional manner. Until then, we say, 'gimme, gimme, gimme'. but srsly folks don't ask for unobtainable copyrighted material. /frustrated rant
