I haven't bothered to listen to anything else by Enya but this because I'm pretty sure the only reason I like these songs is because during downtime/nap time in school my teacher would put this on. I don't know if she played this one since...doing the math, it wasn't released when I was in kindergarten, but if I had downtime in 2nd grade, it would have been this album...mm...anyways, I loved it so much I made my mom buy me the CD, I'm pretty sure it's my first CD. Anyways, I went several years without listening to it because it was cringe-worthy. Now, sometimes at night, I still like to listen to it- it's a big cheesy but it's instrumentally very interesting and hits a soft spot for me, haha.

Edit. So I've officially listened to songs from other albums and wow, doe they all sound the same, I mean, I'm not sure this is in a good or bad way but it's definitely a strikingly singular sound she has.

Currently listening to (and loving) this. I highly recommend it to indie folk fans. It's simply beautiful.

i haven't actually listened to any Oneohtrix Point Never but my friend (who also recently reviewed Grimes' new album) reviewed his newest release, and it's really making me want to check it out.

This beast would have easily made it to my fave records of 2014. I discovered it a few days ago. Mind-blowing.

Theres not an album out there that is more important to me than this one. I get burnt out on bands and albums all the time but after 10 years I still listen to this thing very very regularly. It's perfect, from sowing season to handcuffs...ugh

They're in a style and genre and grouped in with a lot of acts I just don't really click with but that record is absolutely incredible. The first time I heard it, by the time I hit Degausser I just couldn't believe how strong it was.

If this album clicked with you look up Mean Everything To Nothing by Manchester Orchestra. Love them so much too ❤️❤️

see, i just can't get into manchester orchestra at all.

also, "handcuffs" is the ONLY song on "the devil and god..." that i don't love. it feels like a weak ending note after such a powerful record. daisy, on the other hand, is fucking brilliant from start to finish, and i'm sad they're supposedly going back to their more pop-punk-y sound for the new album

Thats so weird, I like daisy a lot but It's far from my favorite. In order I'd put

    1. Devil and god
    2. Deja
    3. Daisy
    4. Favorite weapon
    5-98. Anything
    99. Taking back sunday

    Not Blood Paint

my band played a show with these guys last sunday and they were fucking incredible. i have never played with a band that affected me so deeply.
they're theatre kids, too, so they dress up and have a theme for each show (i think they do something different each tour, according to my bassist who has seen them twice before). for the show with us, they were wearing something like early 1900s dresses with very pale makeup and white hair (think members of parliament dressing in their wives' clothing but forgetting to take off their powdered wigs). but the theatrics don't detract from the music at all, and the music goes so perfectly with the theatrics. it was a really amazing performance and my wife and i can't stop listening to them.
