Am I the only person in 2018 that doesn't have a record player? I never pre-ordered this because... well... I have no use for a vinyl record. Do all of you that pre-ordered the LP actually have a record player, or do you just want the vinyl to sit on a shelf?

I am generally curious, because there can't be THAT many people on the planet that ran out and bought record players in 2018, can there?

Are record players really becoming a major household item again? I honestly don't know anyone that has one.

I actually have a record player and vinyl for the albums I really love and want to keep forever and/or for artists I want to support. Also, I love the process of listening to it, because it fits perfectly with my way of listening to music.

I never bought my music also, so that's kind of a way to have a collection, to not forget those albums that forged me, something in the.. physical world.

It does matter when all my life I've lived on the internet.

I just ordered it. I was holding out for a PC, but I buckled. I'll get the CD any way, but I need something to place with the PC's of the first 2. Maybe the vinyl IS the physical component; maybe the PC hasn't been made available yet. Maybe the pre-order vinyls have a secret PC and blueberries will rain down on me tomorrow. I don't fucking know. I had a code to use, and I didn't have the Gone Girl OST in my collection for some reason, so I vinyl'd that shit too (YAY discount!). Wish there was a digital DL for GG. That would've been awesome. Oh well, sorry about the rant.

Yeah, I'll be on the way to London starting on the 19th. I won't have access to internet or the ability to listen to or download the record at all on my travels, unless it leaks early. I plan on going to Reckless Records and Rough Trade on the 22nd, the day of the show to see if I can find the CD version for sale, but even if I do... I won't exactly have any means of playing the CD on the road. I doubt the hotels in London or Paris have CD players in the rooms, hahahaha.

I might not get to hear the record until I am back home on July 2nd.

Even if it does leak, I'll probably just download it and throw it on my ipod and not listen to it until after the shows. I kinda want to hear the new songs live for the first time.

This has me laughing. Exact same problem, LP arriving perhaps on the 22nd when I'll be in London. No streaming access (I don't do streaming). Was thinking exact same thoughts maybe buy the CD at the gig and having to take my 20 year old CD walkman {does it still work?} along to hear it!! Very unhip..
