Horrible idea that would be a guaranteed critical and commercial flop.

I have a sequel idea... a sequel and a sorta meta remake/reboot in a way that all takes place in the one minute between Einstein first goes one minute into the future and catches back up with Marty and Doc. It's a pre/sequel story who's whole story is about having to erase itself due to its existence being what could destroy everything that happened in the other movies. P.S. Not joking, sometimes I seriously thought about. I am a huge fan of these and was trying to come up with something that wouldn't piss a fan like me off. I think it could work. But I know some folk would hate it.

Same here. Especially with all of the flaws of the 2nd film. I don't think a sequel or a reboot is necessary. Stop with all of that shit and give us something original.

    Question about BTTF 2:

Old Biff from 2015 goes back to 1955 and gives his younger self the sports almanac and creates and alternative 1985 where Biff is a millionaire, kills George, etc. But in this alt. 1985, old Biff from 2015 will never find the alamanac and go back in time to create the alt. 1985.

He never becomes Old Biff. The scene where he comes back with the DeLorean in 2015 was meant to go on for a little longer and we see him fade away. Bob Gale theorized that Lorraine probably killed him.

Then there would be no old Biff to give young Biff the almanac in the first place and the alt. 1985 would never have happened.

    Another thing I don't understand:

In BTTF 2 Marty is stranded back in 1955 while Doc travels to 1885. Doc leaves the DeLorean in a cave for Marty to find. Marty finds the DeLorean and travels back to 1885 but the car is punctured and loses its gasoline, so Doc and Marty need to have the train push the car to 88 mph.

Question--wouldn't there be TWO DeLoreans in 1885? There would be the DeLorean that Marty brings (that Doc left in the cave) plus the one that Doc used to get to 1885 in the first place (which would now be in the cave). Why not just remove the gasoline from that car?

Wasn’t the car that Doc was in the 2015 upgraded future hover one? He was struck by lightning while hovering in the air and sent to back in time to 1885. My guess is that it didn't take your normal gas being the future converted one. Remember him throwing a beer and banana and other garbage into it for fuel at end of BTTF1/beginning of BTTF2? So I imagine the 2015 future upgraded car that Doc was sent back in time to 1885 with after being struck by lighting didn't have your normal gas thus no gas to swap out into the 1955 rebuilt Delorean Marty uses to travel to 1885. When they dug up the no longer working, future adapted DeLorean left in the cave since 1885, didn't 1955 Doc and Marty have to convert it and fix it with 1955 parts to get it to run properly? I imagine they needed it to be your normal gas running car since they wouldn't have the parts to fix the future 2015 technology then that converted garbage into some type of fuel. We don't know if that converted fuel was your standard gas. Plus they can't really mess with the Delorean waiting in the cave from 1885 until 1955 because it needs to be there in the shape fMarty and Doc find it in and go on to fix it in 1955. Messing with the buried Delorean after Marty arrives in 1885 could cause a paradox.

You're not thinking fourth dimensionally, @RhettButler

I made some edits to my answer. Gonna read this link now though. Looks awesome. I see it touches upon my paradox, screwing things up theory if they go and mess with the Delorean after Marty arrives in 1885.

they say in the movie that Mr. Fusion only powers the time circuits, the car itself runs on ordinary gasoline.

the problem with doing anything with the version of the delorean that brings doc back to 1885 is that it would interfere with marty being able to use it later to bring himself to 1885.

Funny how things stick with you. My earliest memory of the thrill movies can bring is seeing the trilogy over and over again on VHS, I fully rediscovered them from a relatively more mature perspective when the DVD's came out and now any of the three are an immediate go-to if they are on streaming services like they are now. For me there's no better franchise to come out of it's decade and is Zemeckis' peak, and arguably Spielberg's too.

Streaming is still king but the studios are still making an effort, whether through on their own or through boutique labels (Criterion, Kino Lorber, Scream/Shout Factory, etc.), to put out older movies on Blu-ray or 4K UHD.

4K Blu-rays have amazing quality, the bitrate is so much higher than streaming.

Meh. The only thing I'd be interested in would be a rough cut of the Stoltz version.

Another set?? I already have 2 lol. I'll be passing up on this one, but Back to the Future is probably my all time favorite film; it really is perfect (Of course there are minor flaws, but I can look past them) I have seen each film countless times and I'm still discovering things to this day. But I am DYING to see that Stoltz cut and whatever else they had for that version.

Sad to find out that the set for the third film burned down awhile back, I always wanted to visit it. Also sad, the drama behind the scenes for this movie, including Crispin Glover's beef. Crazy how so many people don't know that isn't him in the second film.

I think he was very game to do it, but this was around the time his Alzheimer's was starting to get bad so it was likely nixed for that reason.

One of my favorite moments ever and quite possibly the best trade-off of lines we get between Doc and Marty was in Part III where Doc and Marty trade their iconic lines "This is heavy" and "Great Scott".

I like it in part 3 when Marty comes to the saloon in those goofy clothes, straight from a b-Western and the real cowboys are bemused.

I feel like most people think Part III sucks, but I've always liked that movie. It just has the misfortune of being undeniably inferior to the first two classic and iconic films, but it's still a fun movie. The original Star Wars trilogy and The Dark Knight trilogy suffer from the same issue – the first two are SO great and raised the bar SO high that the third one was inevitably a bit of a disappointment to most people. I'd also lump the first three Alien movies into this category, as well, though I realize I'm even more in the minority on that one.

I love all 3, but, yes, 1 and 2 are amazing.

Actually, I find Batman Begins the weaker of the three. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I love Dark Knight and Rises.

Alien 3: Assembly Cut is my favorite Alien film (yup I said it), followed by Aliens: Director's Cut, and Alien: Theatrical Cut. The rest can burn in a fire :P

See, at first I thought this when I was younger since we were so used to the modern feel of the first two, but after watching all three again back to back, the third film fits right in there with them. Yes, it may be slightly inferior but the way the movie starts is probably my favorite opening of the three, with many clever moments that the first two hold as well.

It was actually Michael. J. Fox's idea for the film to the take the western approach for the third film. I found it so hilarious when he first enters Hill Valley and the Clock Tower isn't even finished being build yet lol.

The third film had one of those "oh, huh" moments where real life was shown in a way that you'd never really seen before: when he's at dinner with his grandparents (forget how many removed) and he takes a bite and there's shot still in the bird. for some reason that's one of the scenes that stuck with me the most from the film.

odds that they digitally edit this scene?

I thought 3 was a better film than 2. While I liked 2, it's too jarring, 1985 to 2015 to an alt. 1985 to 1955. I liked how 3 was just a straight-forward film about getting back to the future, but in the old West. Thomas Wilson was great as Mad Dog Tannen, it was almost hard to believe he's the same actor who played Biff. I also really liked Mary Stein as Doc's love interest. It's usually hard to put a new major character in the third act, but she pulled it off.

Thomas Wilson is severely under appreciated when it comes to the publicity and roles from this trilogy. I love his story with all the drama that surrounded the production and filming, he was called into the office and thought he was getting fired.

I remember when I was a kid, watching the third film, I thought they were going to kill Marty since that scene gets a little dark pretty fast. Crazy to find out that the noose actually malfunctioned during that hanging scene!
