I really like the Black Hearted Brother album. The title track and "Take Heart" are absolute stunners. "Time in the Machine" and "If I Was Here to Change Your Mind" are very strong too.

How on earth have i only just heard of Keith Canisius? His music is breathtaking, imagine a 'shoegaze' OneohTrix Point Never or kind of like a heavier way more immersive Ulrich Schnauss, meets The Bug's bass heavy sound meets/Curve/Cocteau Twins/ Panda Bear's messy beautiful psychadelica. At times the guitars sound louder than Kevin Shields late 90s experiments. He has about 5 albums been listening to them constantly for past few weeks and its all pretty overwhelming and extremely trippy at points when played loud.
He is a Texan dude been around for 5 years and is based in Copenhagen, im surprised he is not bigger, how has this mindblowing music not been heard by more people? His entire cataloge is on Spotify, Waves from 2009 is impressing me the most.

If they ever come to Australia (again, stranger things have happened) I will be able to die happy.

My main hope is for new material. There is a wealth of awesome unreleased demo stuff (as I posted a few pages ago) that could fill a couple of great albums- hopefully some of it gets a polish and formal release.

Failing all of that, I'm just glad my absolute favourite band exists again.

I will get tickets for the Slowdive London show on May 19th but its going to be a hard one to get into. shall sell out instantly, and the hipster mecca venue is tiny. and the band have grown in popularity considerably in the past 20 years.
Really glad they are making new music too and its not just a greatest hits thing. Prospect of hearing the tracks from Pygmalion really excites the most.

The only thing to make this feel complete is if Ride finally decide to reunite and tour by just playing the first 2 albums and their early EPs.

i love this clip. the guy who's talking about how the cops stopped him for his hairstyle (3:20) is a friend of mine, and was the drummer of a more obscure shoegaze band- majesty crush.

have been reading facing the other way- the 4AD book, and just discovered this lost dreampop classic that was re-released on the label in 1994. sounds like belly at first, kicks in hard. a win all around.
