An incredible weekend with the girlfriend. Introduced her to Duff's wings on Friday night, ate at Pearl Street Brewery on Saturday night and saw Holy Fuck (who are AMAZING live, btw!) while dancing our behinds off and had a great lunch with my family and the lady friend yesterday! Oh, and my parents got me an iPad for my 30th birthday.

    Awesome, awesome weekend!!

A photo I took of one of the trucks at my work (for their website) is going to be the cover of some machinery/tool company's next magazine. Pretty cool!

Writing. Even though what I may write may not be great, it feels good at least to get things off my chest. Now, if only I could gain the courage I need to share things.

That's great! I only recently collected a few poems together and shared it with a few friends, who gave me enough courage to start posting stuff on a tumblr. I don't write nearly often enough, but once in a blue moon I'll have another thing to post online- always with hesitation though. (Though I've been writing in journals since 2nd grade...)

Waking up in the middle of the night, looking over at the clock with dread, and realizing I still have three hours before I have to get up. Best feeling ever.

Did it taste as you expected? Did you shoot it straight into your mouth?

I agree. Eating pineapple is suppose to help with that.

    Dying at the above stuff.

I'm having a Sunday where the most taxing thing I've done is laundry. Hurrah for lazy days!

I was put to tears today because of this. It made me so happy and so thankful to be able to write and to be read by people. The past week has just been really good for me after a few months of a rough patch. I rediscovered writing again and I realized I can lose myself in it for a period of time, and then there's the getting published part, and the getting read part. It's all so exciting and exhilarating, and it makes everything worth it. Especially when one of your heroes gets to read it, and compliment you on it. You feel so alive when that happens. It's really beautiful.

I reviewed her Toronto show for Antiquiet (this is the review if you guys are interested), and this was her response to that. It really made me happy. Beyond happy, and I just wanted to share that happiness with you guys.

So what's the little thing that cheers me up? Empathy, maybe? Appreciation? Or maybe just a sudden boost of much-needed confidence by people who care.

I'm just really excited about the Black Ops 2 release tomorrow at midnight. The fucking theme is awesome and I've gotten so much better at COD in general since MW3 came out.

Not only do I have three jobs now (all of which will total maybe 35 hours a week, at very manageable intervals), but one of these jobs is at my apartment complex, doing maintenance. Since I'm working here now, my hours cover my monthly rent, with anything above that going to either cash payment or time off, AND they're returning my full rent payment for November, putting $350 back in my pocket. I can use that to finally get a new hard drive for my laptop, which hasn't been usable for a couple months, AND I can fix my driver's side window on my car, which only works when it's been sitting in direct sunlight and gets really warm and dry.

Anything left over, I'm gonna use to fill my tank, buy one huge load of groceries, and start my Netflix account back up again

Now all I have to worry about is passing the semester. Just four weeks of dedicated focus, and I'll be home free!

    My sister and my niece:
My 9mnth old just used her toy drum as a stepping stool so that she could get the height she needed to reach the remote she wasn't supposed to have off of the coffee table... This concerns me...
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Apparently she likes it when the buttons light up. Simple tastes...

    .
Kudos to you Morad. I follow AFP on Twitter and she sounds like an enormously grateful person. I remember seeing her perform a couple of years ago at a tiny rep theater. Before the show started, some friend of hers was up in the rafters and threw something down at her. As she was walking by my cafe table she tried to throw it back up to him. He yelled down: "you throw like a girl". She paused, looked up at him and yelled "I AM A GIRL!" Loved it.

Goin out to Cici's with my roommates and stuffing our faces, having a blast. Good-ass time. Now we're all passed out in different parts of the living room, watching Southpark. It's a good night.
