agree completely. I would much prefer to see Trent stay in the creative/artistic realm. Yes I know he's a good businessman, but this is just a big eyeroll to me.

based on this article (http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/8993-the-cloud/) does this Daisy thing imply that the guy who bashed the music industry for treating music as just another product is going into a business that'll treat music as just another form of information and will mostly exist to attract speculative capital?

That's not the only error in that article...

"There's evidence of Tapeworm material, however. You can find video of Keenan introducing the song Passive as "a song from the Tapeworm project" during a live Tool performance"

The show was actually an APC show. I think I might even still have the recording laying around when he announces it before kicking into the song. But It wasn't TOOL at all.

Not too surprising, after all, his brother was in the band at that time!

also, this is definitely making me laugh more than almost any episode this season. at one point, they were just firing off the riffs one after another and i had to pause it because i couldn't breathe.

Just discovered this site, alas there doesn't seem to be a way to download the recording. Anyhow, I could be mistaken but this appears to be the first soundboard recording of the NIN/Bowie portion from this date (based on Gladcarrot's list).

Replay media catcher seems to grab this with only minor trouble. I won't have a chance to listen to this for a bit though. Hopefully someone can chime in as to whether this is a unique recording.

The video for Closer appears very briefly in Side By Side (a documentary about the film vs. digital debate).

    Offbeat Bride

    some highlights:
“Each table name was the name of a Nine Inch Nails song”

“When we exchanged rings, Matt said "You're the queen and I'm the king," and I replied with "Nothing else means anything."

For instance, we played Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative, and H.I.M. songs to highlight strategic moments of the ceremony (entrance and exit) and reception (entrance, first dance, cake cutting, etc.).

I'm sorry. I just can't get over the bat necklace...
I would love a video of this though. Curious how well they made the music fit or if it was extremely clashing. One of the best weddings I went to had extremely non-traditional music but the environment was much less traditional/formal than how this wedding was depicted.

It's mislabeled. It is the same recording as Children of the Night, i.e. 1995-10-11 Riverport Amphitheater - St. Louis, MO, which has been circulated as many other (incorrect) dates.

The Day The World Went Away (predictably) ends up on this list of the best "end of the world" songs.

Apparently, hardcore conservative judicial scholar Robert Bork thought that Nine Inch Nails was a white hiphop band:

    http://www.waggish.org/2012/robert-bork-in-memoriam/

"A lot of people comfort themselves with the thought that this is confined to the black community, but that’s not true — some of the worst rappers are white, like Nine Inch Nails."

In Bork's defence, Trent really is one of the worst rappers (cf. early versions of Down In It).

I'm sure this has been spotted before, but Gary Numan's 90s/2000s versions of his song "Voix" all use several samples from "Closer (Precursor)".

From a few inconsistencies in the iTunes data, I feel this might be a remix. But I can dream.
