Before I would always get mad at the kid, (in my head of course). But after busing tables at a really popular restaurant, I realized it's all about shitty parenting. We would be packed full with huge groups all over the place. And EVERY weekend we would get the few large groups of parents with kids aged 3-7 and they would let their kids run around and be pains in the ass while they sat there and drank bottle after bottle of wine. Servers would practically be tripping over the kids trying to bring food. They would throw crayons and food on the floor: a nightmare. On the other hand, we would get the parents who told their kids no, don't run around the very busy restaurant. No, don't throw ice. No, don't smear ranch sauce on the window etc... Those tables were awesome.

I was mad about something and came here to post it. Forgot after typing this lol

You're right, it's not the kids' fault; it's stupid parenting. Kids don't know any better. THE PARENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO TELL THEM "NO."

I grew up in the 60s and 70s. If some neighbor or stranger mom/person bitched me out, it might as well be my own mom because if my own mom heard about it, my mom would have SUPPORTED the person who bitched at me / corrected me. That's how we all ended up with manners, learned respect, etc. ("It takes a village.")

Now, the parents are tired, aren't paying attention, but instead of "it takes a village," it's "don't tell MY kid what to do."

I saw a kid in Crate and Barrel nearly take out a giant display of wine glasses while his ignorant brain-dead mother was chatting with another equally brain-dead mother, and I warned the kid that he might break something and get hurt. The nearby Crate and Barrel employee whispered to me that this happened to her ALL THE TIME and when she tried to warn the parents, they threatened to SUE her for talking shit to their kid.

My mother raised 2 children, my stepdad raised 4. But kids are so out-of-control in restaurants, when they used to ask you "smoking or no smoking?" my stepdad would would say, "No kids."

I can't BELIEVE the way parents allow their children to behave in public places. Seriously, I believe these parents do not know any manners, themselves. The parents are oblivious. With ZERO class. Do not blame the kids; blame the no-class ignorant terrible lazy parents. It's the PARENTS' responsibility to teach their children. These parents are lazy failures.

Do you not think you're all being a little mean? Honestly, there's a couple of really simple solutions to this- either force feed the baby gin, or dangle it outside the plane by a noose.

I have to fly a lot for my job, and occasionally have to take the red eye. I've had my work performance suffer because of this hell, which isn't something I tolerate well.

That said, before takeoff for a recent trip, an air hostess told an offending mother that if she didn't control her hellspawn, they'd get thrown off the plane. Low and behold, she shut the fucking thing shut up, and we took off (I think she killed it).

If your baby wont zip it, no matter how many times I scowl at it, you shouldn't be allowed to have one.

Edit: I'm not a very nice person sometimes.

Someone should invent a sound-dampening mask/helmet thing for babies. Just have some air vents for oxygen flow. I picture it looking like those old deep-sea diving helmets like the big daddies had in Bioshock.

You guys sound like a bunch of conservatives, wanting to shut up whiny little children when they don't get their way on ever single issue. They cry, scream and throw tantrums when life doesn't give them everything they want, kinda like liberals. I'm proud of you guys.

Isn't that what the Republicans were doing in the States? Throwing a tantrum so Obama couldn't get shit done...

No, I believe they are trying to stop a Marxist, racist prick from destroying the country any more than he already has. You know, that whole 'we the people' thing he wipes his ass with, means a lot to some folks.

MARXIST HAAAAAHAHA!!!!! Obama gets millions of dollars from corporations, and he's totally beholden to capitalism. He's also more conservative than Nixon.

Pisses me off: when people read politics into fucking everything, including shitty parents and screaming babies on planes. It's one thing I fucking HATE about Americans.

Remember when @green left ETS? That was nice. Remember how all he does is craft his posts to make them about his shitty views? Another one for the Ignore list.

Nice suggestion for noise suppressing masks, @Millionaire . I picture Bane-like quiet kids. It's beautiful.

Remember when people didn't put one another on ignore lists because they have different political views? You don't, do you? Thank you for calling my views shitty though, I appreciate that lil buddy.

re: There's a Starbucks at the corner down by the movie theatre I go to, and it has a turn in right on the main road that blocks on coming traffic, when the line is too full and drivers are still trying to pull in. I could blame poor planning, but I rather blame those trendy fuckers who have absolutely no clue as to their surroundings, because clearly coffee is more important than the 15 people waiting behind their sorry ass.

Also, I just found out lumbersexual is a thing. Is there anything left for normal people to keep to themselves without the effeminate culture trying to church it up? Deep breath.

    my fan girl bullshit.

on nye, we went to the kk in twin falls (super dive-y, typically full of lesbians) and my cousin heather came out with her girlfriend alana.

alana had a mild hit in the lilith fair era of the 90's called "32 flavors." i remember seeing her on the rosie o'donnell show and such.

i kept asking her what she was doing there (um, because it's nye) and telling her how cool i thought she was in high school.

it wasn't endearing. it wasn't flattering. it was obnoxious and i was drunk.

There is no single definitive Marxist theory; Marxist analysis has been applied to diverse subjects and has been misconceived and modified during the course of its development, resulting in numerous and sometimes contradictory theories that fall under the rubric of Marxism or Marxian analysis

    Yeah, poor me.

There are many Marxist writers and thinkers, but the core values of Marxism are pretty well defined within Karl Marx's writing. Primarily in [I]Capital[I]. But yeah, this is way off topic.

Well, but I love studying Marxism (particularly applying Marxist literary criticism in English literature) and if someone's gonna call people Marxist, at least know a general idea of what the fuck Marxism is. Most Americans don't. The term is thrown around because it's used on television as a buzzword. For SURE, Obama ain't no fucking Marxist. He Capitalist to the fucking core.

When Kennedy was killed in Dallas, a lot of people wanted him dead because of this dumb ass "KennedyCare" idea he had, which eventually became "Medicare" under Johnson. The Affordable Care Act, however, is nothing like Medicare; the ACA makes the Big Insurance Companies rich (they mostly wrote the Act), and medical care not any more "affordable" than it was 8 years ago. That's about as "Marxist" as General Motors.

Not off topic at all. I posted something that pisses me off and you guy call me an idiot for it. Actually that is a bit off topic, huh? Later icecream.

I have had to study it extensively. Along with conservatism, liberalism etc so don't start with the, "all colleges are full of socialist professors" stuff green. But it is pretty amusing listening to conservative talk radio and counting how many times socialism, Marxism or communism are misused. Even here in Canada, I think the average person has a warped understanding of the terms. Partially because of how much American content is consumed here.
