There wasn't a thread for her yet. :3

I saw her on the Cosmic Love tour in June and I can't wait to see her December 4th! I really love her music and the new album is my favorite of 2011. Any thoughts about Ceremonials (http://www.amazon.com/Ceremonials-Florence-Machine/dp/B005QI4TP8), etc?

Ok so I've heard this name for a while and I think I saw them perform on The Late Late Show. They came up a few times on Last.fm radio when I was listening to female fronted groups, so I made note of them. I plan on taking a whole month to listen to only groups with female vocalists. Anyway, my friend texted me earlier today asking if I like them because he had an extra ticket for little to no charge because the dude who bought it bailed. So yeah, I listened to a couple albums earlier to prepare for what I might hear. They played here in Detroit at the Fox, which is a great venue. She even commented on how beautiful it is. So the show was pretty damn amazing. At the right times there was a lot of energy and I could just tell she was having a blast performing, which made it amazing to watch. Also, her accent is delightful. I'm not familiar with enough songs to post a playlist, but I know they played, and not necessarily in this order, these:

Edit: That was quick. Even though this thread is hardly active, I'll spoiler tag this:

Only If For a Night
What the Water Gave Me
Cosmic Love
Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)
Spectrum
Breaking Down
Heartlines
Leave My Body
Seven Devils
Shake It Out
Dog Days Are Over
Encore:

Never Let Me Go
No Light, No Light

I dig her. I did so before it was the popular thing to do and when she blew up after Dog Days Are over finding success.

Look at Mr. Hipster. :p Was it really necessary to state it in that way? I like them now and it's not because that song is popular.

Nah, just people give me flak for liking her now since she hit it big. In my area she's a very hated singer due to it. I don't get it.

Ah, they did give quite a performance during that song, though. The whole set was great. The second song gave me chills. This was a hell of an opener, too.

Going to see them on my college campus in September. It's gonna be great, I'm sure.

I can't even fathom Miss Welch's voice, she's so eargasmic and just..... goosebumps... everywhere. *shivers*

So I ended up seeing her six times since last June's Cosmic Love tour and lollapalooza was probably my last show for a while. I know friend's of Flo and Isa who have said that she's really looking forward to a break after the rest of these tour dates and then will go back in the studio, but who knows. I adore her, but her voice was so much more rested this half of the US tour than back in April and she seemed much happier. I had some great times with friends & the band this tour though, so much love to Tom and Isabella for keeping an eye out for me and my friend Rachael. Still didn't meet the redheaded goddess (been so close but never worked out), but it'll happen! Man I'm going to miss seeing her live for a little bit, it's been crazy.

Also did anyone catch the lollapalooza livestream? If you saw a girl with a greenish mohawk going crazy at the rail, that was me. :p

Tom used to be in a band called REVERE, a very long time ago, and did this remix: http://soundcloud.com/revere/02-the-escape-artist-lunamoth
true.

I really like the last Florence record. I do think she gets a lot of stick from 'indie' kids or whatever, kinda unfairly. She's doing something more interesting then she often gets credit for I think.
I mean, I know it's not avant garde or anything, but the tunes are cool.

So the new album is out, I'm digging it, but I only wish there weren't so much singles released prior to the album release. I heard half of the album before, I listened some of the songs pretty much to death and it kinda breaks up the listening experience of the album. And yes, I know this is my problem and I shouldn't have listen to it if I didn't want to get spoiled.. but who could resist.

Anyway - Mother, Queen Of Peace and Long and Lost are my favorites thus far
