HOLY SHIT Saw these guys last night as the opener for Chevelle.

Chevelle was good but these guys stole the fucking show. It's just 2 guys...Black Keys mixed with Janes Addiction and a dose of Deftones.

Amazing band. Bought the album after the show. The record is amazing but live, these guys are unbelievable. Seeing their 7 song set ALMOST beat the Puscifer show for me...yeah.

They're playing half an hour ish from here next week. I really wish I could go! I'll probably see them if they come back around as a headliner.

Too JA for me: don't really like JA.

unless the rest of their material is more rock n roll, or bluesier, or more glam, i dont get the BK or JA at all. that was dark, moody radio rock...well done too. sure his voice is a bit like Perry's, but the sound of the band isn't similar. Def. in the same vein and angle of Chevelle. that has heavier than anything i've ever heard from BK or JA.

Wow Bobbie, you took my post literally to the max...

They sound like JA in the vocals. (Sorry I didnt clarify)
They sound like Black keys in other songs on the record and...oh wait...Its just a drummer and guitarist. But that has no comparison whatsoever. (Sorry I didnt clarify again)

Just check out the record. It may not be for some people so if you dont like it, go ahead and bitch like everyone does. And if you do like it congrats.

The music has something 90s/Helmet-esque about it...not bad; the vocals sound like a cross between Richard Patrick and Perry Farrell. Still way too much Farrell here for my tastes.

Definitely a fan. The Perryesque sound definitely pulls me out of it but the rest sounds different enough to keep me attracted. With enough time, my brain might get reconditioned not to hate the voice.

Believe it or not, I got into MCR through this song. It's kind of similar. I bet many of you will like it (i need to start a Nico Vega thread):

I remember hearing the New Low song a while back on the radio most likely, i can see the vocal comparison but overall the couple tracks i have heard seem kind of interesting. I've always been a fan of sort of a more basic straightforward approach to songs like this. Gonna check out the first album here later i think. Ill get back when i have a better idea of what they have going on.

Just an FYI. If you preorder the new album in any fashion on MCRUT.com. You will get a stream of the entire album within 24 hours of your purchase

Once your stream has started though, your preorder can't be cancelled.

Also each preorder bundle comes with a free MC Rut koozie

Wait, you can listen to it NOW via the streaming preorder?!
Also, is it a one time stream or can you listen to it a few times?

edit: just ordered. Hopefully I can stream it more than once.

just got my stream:

Thanks for pre-ordering PICK UP YOUR HEAD. If anyone deserves to exclusively hear this album first, it's YOU!
WARNING: This special AudioLock system is designed to prevent file sharing. Once it is opened on your computer, cell phone or tablet, it will ONLY stream on that device, and in the location or ISP where you first open it. For example: open it on your laptop at home and it will only stream there. In other words, it will not stream if you take your laptop outside of your home.
If you love what you hear (which is understandable) and you try to share it, AudioLock will trace it back to you and turn off the stream. So, please restrain yourself.
By the way, this is an experiment that we have had to jump through a few hoops to use. It's important to us that all of you who pre-ordered the record hear it first! AudioLock has never used their system for this purpose, so we're all breaking new ground together. Your stream will be live through our release date.
Check it out, tell your friends, and we hope to see you on the road real soon.
Zack & Sean

kind of sucks that they have to do that but it makes sense. I am curious how well it works for them

Dont fret buddy.

When you stream each track, right click and click "save link as" then burn the tracks to a cd!

Oh, I already have them. I am just curious about how it works. They actually uniquely watermark the audio. So, don't go sharing that CD!

Def not. For personal use.

On a side note, the album is fucking brilliant!!

Favorite tracks so far are Dead Eye (fucking amazing), Sing While You Slave, No More

Still have some more listening to do, ironically I am listening to this while studying for my final college exam ever which ironically the class is called History of Rock.

I need to listen a few more times. I've listened 10 times through so far. Nothing is standing out quite as powerful as Busy Being Born or USA. Love those two songs.

If you're from the US you can stream the album here (http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/album_premiere_middle_class_rut_pick_up_your_head)
I am not, so I cannot. Grrrrarrggghh.

I guess they're playing a show for free with Grouplove and Robert DeLong in Kansas City next week. I've always wanted to see MCR, never heard of Grouplove, and I've heard lots of good things about DeLong, but haven't listened to anything of his personally. So I think I'm gonna give those other two a listen and try to make the show!

They've come a long way since I saw them in a toilet venue in my hometown and had to fix one of their mic stands.
Wish they'd come back to the UK (with a band that isn't Papa Roach)
