they're currently writing for their new record, a follow-up to the "Parallax"-EP they've released just a year ago.

One of my favorite bands. Everything they have put out has been amazing in my opinion. I'm stoked to hear what they put out next, the Parallax EP was awesome, and I have been loving their evolution from Alaska up through The Great Misdirect.

They are amazing live, and tour a lot, if you get the chance see them. It's a great show.

Glad to see a thread for these guys. I saw them in 2010 with Mastadon, and geeeeez they were just as good as the album sounded. Sucks that the crowd was so separate from Mastadon fans and BTBAM fans because the arrogant Mastadon fans started chanting "YOU SUCK DICK". The band then stopped playing and the lead singer called the kids out.. it was so great.

But yea my favorite album would have to be The Great Misdirect, next to Parallax. Their progressions are just insane for the guitar work and if they continue the sound they had on the new EP, then I am really excited.

The whole CD is out there but I've only heard the few that have been posted to Youtube.

Also, this link is a pretty interesting and in-depth write up about their concepts.

It's a phenomenal, dense, daunting album. Will take a few listens to fully digest, but after one full listen, it is amazing. I love the second track so hard. Some really interesting vocals going on during some of the songs too. Can't wait to listen to this all week in my car, and see them live again.

I swear I see them all the time, even by accident (they happen to just play every show I want to go to) it's hilarious. I've seen them more than any other band now, and half the time I don't even go to the shows to see them, they just happen to be there.

I've listened to it once all the way through and I'm blown away. This is their best work yet.

LYGTR, Extremophile Elite, Telos, Silent Flight Parliament... all 10/10. actually the whole album is. can't tell if it's better than their previous work (for now), but it's certainly one of the biggest and best metal releases this year.
i deleted the leak though. (my CD arrives next week and I'm already listening to it far too often.)

I think the only record I really appreciated from these guys was the Silent Circus. Still holds us incredibly well.

Shevanel, Take 2 was actually my first real girlfriend and I's song oddly enough.
