I'm not into this kind of music normally. But this is special. Not average.
Saw them at Pukkelpop 2010. The 'Dancehall' exploded.

I'm not digging the new album as much. It's too well produced (dubstep wtf) and dull with uncompelling lyrics this time around. I hate to say it but, The Pitchfork review (http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16270-tenion/) is pretty spot on IMO.

seeing them tonight. not really much into their music but i'm expecting lots of energy on stage and hopefully decent crowd response. have a feeling it'll be full of bros (and so was Saul Williams's concert during the Niggy Tardust tour).

Have they dropped a new single yet? I'm so out of the Die Antwoord loop these days.

I have a girl crush on Yolandi Visser.

Yes, I love these guys. Their music reminds me of my childhood, as weird as that sounds. Trashy cheesy 90s Euro Pop. Had I known there was DA threead I would have left this here a long time ago...

...see below post for embedded video...

(i can provide this in whatever format you want, just shoot me a pm)

Cookie Thumper came out awhile back, and it dint live up to any of the previous singles IMO. Hopefuly the next one delivers like Babys on Fire did (with the matte black subaru and shit).

Cookie Thumper was released last year, but they haven't released anything else off it yet. Considering it's been completed (if I remember correctly), then we should expect to hear something new soon. *fingers crossed*

Also, some of the more obscure Watkin Tudor Jones stuff can be hard to find online (solo albums and the maxnormal stuff,) but I do have his entire discog though. You know what to do...

Speaking of maxnormal, the maxnormal.tv album "Goodmorning South Africa" is, IMO, better than either of the DA albums. Its Ninja, Yolandi and Jack Parrow throught the whole thing, and, is basically $o$ v0.5, a prototype Antwoord album. Standout tracks include Ons Is Heir and Dangerous to Love. The latter, really shows their songwriting ability and I wish they did more songs like that.

Since im on a roll here, Ive also got to say that Ninja's "penis" mic is one of the most brilliant things I have ever seen in my life. How many times have you seen the singer from X or Y band swinging their microphone around, pretending its their cock? Absoultely ZERO room for interpitation there folks!

This band has great visuals and a really awesome cinematographic direction in their music videos. It's just a shame their music bores me to tears and I really cannot stand Yolandi Visser' voice.

Haha, yeah it takes some getting used to, kinda like Geddy Lee... :) Also, im glad the matte black Subaru makes another appearance in this new vid, love that thing. With the Rammstein decals and shit.

Donker Mag, out June 3rd! Tracklisting as follows... (i got this via reddit, sounds legit but not my fault if it isnt)

I'm definitely digging the song but don't really care for the video. However, I have a major girl crush on Yolandi. I think Hi-Tek's beats are amazing and this song really shows that. Can't wait for this.

IMO Hi-Tek is Ninja. Not only does he have the word tattooed on his hand, but whenever "Hi-Tek" does is vocal contributions, it sounds just like a pitch-adjusted Ninja. IMO.

Really hope that they'll bring this tour to Australia.

Great album though.

Maybe it's meant to (the Aphex symbol appears on another hoodie) but there's no way he'd do that. He's not even in his own videos.

That's not actually him in the Windowlicker video? My whole life is a lie. Then maybe the guy in this video is the same guy from the WL video?

saw them last night - amazing show, feel bad for the people who went to glasgow - 11 songs compared to the 18/19 we got in birmingham

jam packed with bell ends though... all the people up the front of the balcony on their bloody phones for the whole thing... and I don't mean pics/vids, I mean actually boasting on instagram about being at the show they're not bloody watching. Also people just totally still, watching it like it was TV... I mean fair enough enjoy it however you want to enjoy it. But WTF how can you stay still during such a mad high energy show. Just got the feeling it was trendies doing their homework

But yep, go see this band if you can, I really feel like now is probably the best time

I was aaaaall about Donker Mag but I'm a little underwhelmed by the dribs and drabs of newer stuff I've heard, even that "Banana Brain" video is a bit of a letdown. Maybe I just need to hear the whole album in context to 'get it' but it seems like they're treading water a bit.

Interesting new development. So Exclaim (Canadian music site) does the interview, Ninja says it's ending in a year, they deny it the next day saying it was taken out of context, so Exclaim responds by posting full transcript of the entire interview and it sure sounds like he said what they said he did. (http://exclaim.ca/music/article/die_antwoord_the_complete_interview-full_transcript_reveals_ninja_explicitly_declaring _the_end_of_the_band)

So, it all ends on September 2017. Then what happens?
Secrets, secrets, secrets, I'm not telling you. We're doing South African Ninjaright after that and all these other things we've got cooking, these little secret motherfuckin' projects.
So, are they going to be Die Antwoord projects?
You weren't listening, young man. Die Antwoord dies on that day. It's all over.
How do you feel about that?
I feel beautiful about it. How do you feel about dying one day?
I feel pretty scared about it.
I'm not scared of the end. I'm a Ninja, I'm not scared of death. Don't be afraid. Everything will be ok.
