I'm still on a strict diet of his.

I take back what I said in the last ETS JF thread...Curtains IS sublime. Really great.

And I own most of his solo work now.

Where are my fellow fans?

One of them is here anyways. JF can be...weird...to put it politely but I do enjoy his solo work. He will be missed in the Peppers.

Haven't heard any news about what he has upcoming. Have you been to http://www.invisible-movement.net? Iva usually knows what is going on but I haven't had a chance to check it out in a while.

I recently discovered IM and signed up. Haven't gone over there to see everything, mostly 'cause I'm told there isn't a lot of info about the new album at this time.

The first two albums are the only "weird" ones for me. I still haven't warmed up to them, and that's two of the three I don't own for that reason. The other is The Will To Death, although it's surprising to me I don't really like that one.

Everything else (not including "Spheres...", because that's just as much Josh) is gold in their way. Even From The Sounds Inside. That's a late super favorite, in fact. "So Would Have I," "Innerstate Sex," and "With Love." Sho good, dude.

Do you like RHCP too? I find it interesting that many JF fans don't, in fact they see the band as having held him back in some way. Some are quite rabid about it.

I like some Red Hot. (Anthony can be pretty damn annoying, pretty often.)

Some of John's most amazing lines were centerpieces to some of the great Red Hot songs... I don't think it held him back. It is what is.

But JF's solo work is in a different league.

Finally spun Shadows Collide With People for the first time in a few years...holy shit. Still get goosebumps when Carvel breaks in at about a minute and a half in to the album...so good.

I'd love to see a super group with John, Dave Gahan, Eric Avery, Jimmy Chamberlin (or Danny Carey) and Josh Eustis. Total jizz fest!

I love him too. I found my misplaced "To Record Only Water For Ten Days" cd not too long ago and I was so glad. I hadn't heard it in a long time so it was great to revisit it. I think Ataxia is one of my favorite cds ever. It's the one I always try to push on people haha.

I think he did a few one-off shows in LA when he was in the middle of releasing those 6 cds in 6 months. I haven't heard of any since then. A JF solo show is now at the top of the list of shows I want to see. I really wish he'd do some.

OK, one of YOU ETS users private messaged me an audio recording last year (on the old site) of John playing How Deep Is Your Love. Which of you wonderful users might that have been? :)

^ I'd be really surprised if it wasn't me. I freaking love his cover of that song, and do anything but hide it from the public.

(If it was me back then...I went by a different name. )

Let's just say I won't be preordering. (Nice to hear his voice on that last preview though.)

I'm definitely more pumped for the new LP, which, for those who didn't read the details, is said to be different from this EP.

Got my Letur-Lefr vinyl yesterday (a week late from TopSpin...surprise, surprise.) I like this EP, totally different realm for John. And how can you not like RZA MCing over Frusciante..??

Can't wait for the full length, which sounds like it will be a more traditional song and album structure type thing.

I don't hate this EP, but I don't love it. Definitely different realm. At this time I'm still not gonna buy it. "In Your Eyes" sure is grand though.

The man's voice never seems to waver.

I need to give these new sounds a few more listens. He seems to be in an hybrid/abstract phase. Pretty fucked up, I like that

Yeah, it's so weird but at the same time so beautiful! :)

Also, I really like this picture of him:

Man, I used to really love JF. Shadows Collide With People and Inside Of Emptiness are two of my all-time favorite albums. But that was then, this is now. I really can't get behind the new stuff. Just got too weird for me. I wrote a blog about this a while back. Check it out:

I saw something about this the other day, pretty neat idea. IMO a better one than what the Wu are doing with their next album.

I don't know what happened to this guy. I absolutely adored pretty much everything he did as far as Empyrean, but I honestly don't know what that electronic stuff was all about. And I actually like electronic music and consider myself quite open minded music wise, but stuff he did after he left RHCP was just weird. And this is just another weird statement from him. It's like "I will be making music, you just don't get to hear it, because nobody gets my musical personality now". If he said this five years ago, I would be crushed. Now, and I'm sorry to say it, I just don't care really

Well said. Enclosure had some really good moments on it, but for the most part his music has been pretty boring for the last several years.

When Leter-Lefr was announced I was so fucking excited. After the first spin through the album, I thought I was being trolled or there was an error at the manufacturing plant. To this day I still can't figure out how the same guy that wrote Shadows Collide with People devolved into that. I'm all for experimental music and everything, but I usually prefer it to be listenable...
