Can someone IP check this dude? I smell something familiar.
When the admin. does an IP check, will you apologize for accusing me of being someone else? You guys seem to believe there is only one correct way of thinking, and that of course is your way. That's not reality, Dra508.

Last night the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was on the SyFy chan. Every now and then SyFy will play something good, and it's always a treat considering that chan. shows mostly silly movies.

around the time he started doing porn, he somehow started following ME on tumblr, and i think it's because my secondary tumblr (which is tasteful nude self-portraits) got reblogged by a blog called something like "skinny hairy dudes" or something like that. it was...pretty hilarious.

Visiting the Philippines. I think my opinion of traveling has dramatically changed over the past 10 to 15 years and I seem to be a lot more used to the heat this time around. And well, the food trips have been rather enjoyable so far.

The overall politeness, hospitality, generosity and general displays of common courtesy have also made me feel very much welcome and at peace.

Oh yes, and the fact that this is my first ETS post outside of the USA, ever. :p

rode my bike last night (for the first time in a bit) to see alkaline trio. it was only about 3 miles each way.

today, i rode a total of 15 miles, including 7.8 miles home along the lakeshore trail, and made three service calls for work.

tonight, i'll be going to a bar with my wife for our friend's birthday, and i'm about to make him a mix.

tomorrow we're going pumpkin picking, getting apple cider donuts, and eating bbq in woodstock.

I'm finally under $3,000 left on my student loans! And with a couple more paychecks, I can pay off the part of my loan with higher interest, so it'll cost me a little less over the next few months as I pay off the rest.

Man, I love having a job that pays well - even if it drives me insane sometimes. My plan is to pay off my loans in the next few months, save up enough for a semester or two of classes, take all of next summer off from school AND work to just enjoy some free time (maybe land a part time job to keep from dipping into my savings too much), and start school again in the fall for my last couple semesters. All capped off with a big trip to Japan in summer 2016!

Feeling for a change that I might actually deserve the raise I got last week. :)

Money is tight and I'm not always firing on all cylinders like I am now, so ordinarily I'd argue with her — especially since she's done that twice this year. (I didn't get my new affordable-health-insurance-that-she's-not-subsidizing just so she could spend the money on me in other ways! Grrrrr.) … Well, I guess I still would've argued with her. Must have been a moment of weakness on my part.

But I got my revenge by buying a new monitor for the office and not mentioning that I used my personal credit card instead of the Amex. :p

Finally got the rest of my stuff moved into my apartment. In the process i found a Black Keys DVD I bought like 5-6 years ago toss on the table and forgot about for about a year. I must have tried to watch it at some point after that because after me and the ex broke up a couple years later i had the case but not the dvd. I had since thought it had been swallowed into the ether. I guess moving a few times in the interim were what was needed for it to end up on the top of a box of random stuffs. That and I found an old camera, it didn't turn on but when i put the card into my computer i found a bunch of pictures from my Samoa trip and others as well that i may have on my pc but haven't seen basically since i got back. And just generally finding stuffs i'd had completely forgotten about being as most of this stuff had been in storage for over a year. And like Joy mentioned i also just got a raise at work. I guess doing work and can pay off when you work for decent people.

I had a third cousin (seriously, pretty sure it was third) who was bitching about the girl scouts letting in transgender girls and I was like, you know, I barely know you and if you have a problem with trans* people, I don't need you in my life. When a gig the band is expecting to be horrible turns out to be pretty great. It happened yesterday (Saturday) when our outdoor festival gig was cancelled and moved into this absolute joke of a wine bar (it was a great place, actually, but not anything a band should ever be in), and turned out to be a damn good show considering everything that went wrong.

Also, it doesn't hurt that the theater is only about 10 miles from where I live.

I've been taking more initiative lately in meeting girls, and I'm learning to be better at it and more confident, especially in situations where I'm being called "hot" by a stranger here and there (especially on Halloween. It's a shame my Pyramid Head helmet made my face invisible). Anyway, in the last couple weeks I've gotten five numbers (and one that always seems friendly and genuinely engages in small talk, but hasn't sent me that first text yet - also, I don't have HER number, so...), and...honestly, they just kind of happened, and before I knew it, I was comfortable enough in our conversation to want to ask to keep touch.

On top of that and working out (a little more and more every day), changing up my diet, and saving my spending habits, I feel like I'm doing awesome. In addition, my boss will be gone tomorrow and Friday, then I get the day off Wednesday, meaning I'll get to do things on my own for a few days AND get a day off. I need a little something like that after last week, when I spent my entire week's free time, about 4 hours a night, working on my costume's helmet.

Earlier, I posted in the other thread that yesterday, a package of good stuff was delivered to me from heavenly_bearded, and I had left it at the store. I called twice today to see if it had been turned in, and was told no both times. But I stopped by anyway tonight and asked again. The manager knew where it was right away.

I did on Halloween for the first time in four years probably more. Though on my best day I'd hesitate to call my facial pubis a beard. That said,I didn't like it and don't plan on doing it any time soon.

No Shave November. The world needs more manhair.

This year, I decided to just let my beard continue into November, versus shaving it and starting the month fresh. Now that it's past the scratchy stage, I'm totally comfortable with it again. That stage between stubble and the beginning of a full beard is the worst.

Anyway, one of the girls I mustered up the courage to talk to? She is...awesome, and cute, and straightforward, and totally into me, apparently! We're gonna get coffee tomorrow night and see Interstellar Friday. She's already seen it, but I told her that if she wants to see Interstellar again with me, I'd sit through Gone Girl with her, since I saw it a couple weeks back and she hasn't yet. So things are going pretty well there! Interestingly, she was considering moving from her current apartment to a complex right across the street from me, so if we end up dating a while, it could be beneficial to live so close to one another. ;) Anyway, I'm stoked. Everything is awesome right now.

And I found a stray dog today, and barely managed to make it to the humane society in town (had to leave work early to get there 3 minutes after they closed - luckily, they were careless and left the front door unlocked, heh). She's there for now, and I got all the info I need to check up on her. How do stray dogs keep finding their way into my life? I found two a month ago, and another one a few months before that...

Laundry drop off service is THE SHIT.

It costs maybe 75 cents more than washing it myself, and I don't have to sit at the laundromat... It's actually probably cheaper, since they provide soap and all of that. Also, they are folding experts. I am so goddamn awful at folding things. Back when I had a closet, I just hung up EVERYTHING except socks, bras, and underwear. And those were all just thrown together in a drawer.

Been riding my bike to work, back home for lunch, then to work and back home again for the last couple weeks. Really liking it.

Pros: I feel more energized throughout the day. Riding bikes is fun. Its a lot faster than walking(I got a car, but I walked to work just to walk).

Cons: The route is hilly, so I'm sweating every time I go to work. But hey, fuck it. I like it so people just gotta deal with my musk. I do spray on some deodorant stuff, though. Gotta meet society standards halfway.

personally, i think regular milk is kinda weird, and didn't ever like it much as a kid. i'm also really susceptible to congestion via dairy, so i try to avoid it. almond milk is great (soy milk hurts my chest), but i'd never just drink a glass of it. for cereal, though, hell yeah.

Sometimes being reminded that I could've been a James. It was an idea that floated around before I was named Kristoffer. It's not that long, and it can also be abbreviated into just Jim, which I've also liked, and that it's only one syllable, and that the abbreviation is shorter than Kris.

I also was about to be named Kristoffer James, but it was decided that it would've been too long. Looking back at it, I could've just returned to ETS back in 2011 as James or Jim, or any variation with James or Jim in it if they weren't taken back then, since I could've used a real name that wasn't mine, yet was still connected to my actual name in some way. It has also given me ideas for E-mail addresses and Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I also like the name James, because of me also happening to like the following.

James Bond
Slim Jim
Aphex Twin - Richard David James
The Angry Video Game Nerd - James Rolfe

Reinstalling Windows 7. It's good as new, and it also amazes and reminds me just how much I took regular loading for granted, especially when I'm on Firefox. (Not to say that it was Firefox's fault, as Firefox stood the test of time for me. It was more to do with my actual computer.) :)

Firefox also standing the test of time for me as my favorite Internet browser also cheers me up. Firefox has actually been very good to me since 2005, now that I think about it. I also might've strayed to Safari for a few years, but Firefox still won me over in the long run. :)

I went to the Guggeinheim last week and saw their tiny exhibition of Kandinsky's before abstraction work. Sort of like seeing Picasso's early work, which they also had a few of those in their permanent collection. Unrecognizable.

I totally get what you mean by that. For me, that good feeling is often at its peak during the first song of the set and the middle of the set. It would be nicer if I had some people to go with these days, but as of now I've proven to myself that I can enjoy concerts alone, and I'm not even much of a concert person to start with.

Oh, man. I had a great trip home over the holidays(which is good, because the last one was fucking awful).

BFF #1 is taking me to Jamaica in April(Hopefully I can get a passport in time)
BFF #2 got engaged while I was there... So I get to be maid of honor. <3 As of right now, the kinda sorta plan is just a few of us going to Vegas.

My cousin recently became an Air Traffic Controller at the Denver airport. This is awesome because he is such a great guy. He has had a trophy wife and two children all while working full time, and going to school full time. I am so incredibly proud of him! He even got to Air Traffic Control Air Force One while Obama was on the way to Hawaii!

I watched my little sister graduate with her CDAC stuff last Friday. She starts up a new school chapter in just a few weeks.

There are just so many great things happening to the people in my life right now, and seeing them all become happy and obtain their goals is amazing, and really motivating.

If your cousin worked AFO, he works here (http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Denver_%28ZDV%29_Air_Route_Traffic_Control_Center_ %28ARTCC%29) and works radar. :-)

No idea! Lol. I didn't actually get to speak with him. He is still in his probation period, and didn't get to come home for the holidays. I was just visiting with my aut about it.

It was a shitty deal because he was just about to become one when the government shut down last year. When that shitshow happened, he lost his opportunity(again, I'm short on details here, and going off of what my aunt tells me - no idea how accurate it is). He then thankfully got another opportunity earlier this year, and made it in just before his 30th birthday in June. I guess once you turn 30, they will no longer let you in?

Yes, exactly, due to pension rules (ATCs have to retire by their 56th birthday). It takes pretty much two full years of training to become fully certified on radar. Until then, you train on each position in your area, and you slowly get certified in each position on radar. You work as an assistant on that position until you're fully certified on that position.

Yeah, the government shutdown really fucked the staffing at all these facilities; there is a big shortage, which is kind of being covered up; they really NEED ATCs and a shit ton of ATCs are retiring over the next several years, and it takes so damned long to get people fully-certified, the shut-down just further delayed things. Really sucks for the ATCs and for the trainees.

The age-30 thing is when you get accepted, though, not when you fully certify. Thankfully.

Anyway, congrats to your cousin!!! :-)

Happened to look at my bank account on line and saw that the ATM transaction I did while visiting Santa Fe was on two lines - one the actually withdrawel including the ATM fee that I remember pressing yes on the screen for and then another $2.50 debit. I called BofA and was told that yeah, you'll get a double hit like that if you take money out of a bank they don't have an agreement with. No fee ATM is only if it's a BoA ATM. Ok, fine, I see BofA is everywhere so why be in an ATM network that doesn't charge if you have a good size balance (this girl), but charge me twice, really? By the end of the conversation, the agent credited the $2.50. That cheered me up. A little nice, can go a long way - for both me and the bank.

Ho..ly...shit, y'all, it would appear that i'm going to a fucking university.
I didn't know that Panhandle State University was just 33 miles north of here.
I don't ask my mother about finances. I know she's well off, but i didn't know she was "sure, i'll pay for you to get a degree" well off.

I'm 34. I thought that my life was completely ruined and i would be living here off of family money and working at minimum wage jobs, or maybe landing one that paid ten or twelve an hour if i was lucky, and, well, waiting till i inherit the family money. That's no kind of life.

Between being a truly bipolar nut job and a hopeless addict and alcoholic, I've never been stable enough to do this. But i am now. I really thought that the college boat had sailed a long ass time ago. But here it comes again. Another chance! I'm living in a place where everything is paid for and i have no real responsibilities, and the college is right up the fucking road! I feel like i'm dreaming. I've ordered info from the university and will be ordering my HS transcripts and sat scores this week so i can apply. It appears to be next to impossible to not be accepted, so i'm not worried about that.

So i'll be the old guy at the college, but i will be AT THE FUCKING COLLEGE!
I won't have a degree till i'm 36 or 37 (for an associates) or 38 or 39 (for a bachelors,) but i can be that age WITH a degree or without, right?

I finally see a ray of hope peeking through the clouds, and goddamn, it looks pretty. :) :) :)

That's how I'm feeling right now. There's a fan fucking tastic institute in international studies where in the TOWN I LIVE. I never considered their Masters program something I'd be interested in because my undergrad was art. Now that I've had a fling with education and teaching, I checked out their program again and fell in love with their International Education program. My mother also has agreed to see me through that degree financially, but I won't be looking for applying for another two years probably because I need more experience and fleshing out where I'd like to go with this. For now, I'm barely making rent and it's stressing me out.
