refreshed the AXS app, Stubhub, Vivid Seats & even Ticketmaster (they had re-sale tix on there even though it wasn't their show) all day while doing Denver shit after Friday night's great show (highly recommend the Rocky Mt Arsenal Wildlife Refuge and a stop at Mile High Comics). Everything that came up all day was way too expensive. Went to dinner with friends at 6, but with a change of clothes, my external mic & earplugs in the rental car so I could bolt if need be. At about 6:45 I pulled a GA tix from AXS for $183 all in...I believe it was from the "fan resale" part. That was MUCH lower than I saw GA tix going for all day...everything else was $300 and up with fees. I bought that shit with the quickness, and left for Red Rocks at like 7:50. Lied my way into the closest parking lot (Upper North) by saying I was picking someone up, and got in there right as Yves Tumor ended.

I caught Yves Friday night & dug it alot. Gothy at times....Bloc Party at times...Joy Division-y at times...straight up alt-rock at times.

I was dolo for tonight's show....Friday I went with my wife & two friends. Although I did meet up with the Sweet Tooth Enamel dude and hung for a bit. He does a TON of NIN enamel pins that I believe have been talked about on here before.

I love how GA works at this place..basically anything goes. People hanging by every tree, every open step you're allowed to stand in, etc. Staying up near the top in that GA seems foolish unless you like it up there. I got a good spot near the trees off to the side by row 21, and also by the cement ledge a row or two lower under the big light. Good side angles to watch from. With about 8 songs left i walked around a bit and found an open spot in I think row 25 or so & watched from there....this was all stage left.

Show started off pretty weak for me...HATE TBOTE & I just saw Wish last night in the same exact setlist spot. Less Than was great though, such a great radio type single that should have been bigger when it came out. But man, once Trent whipped out Sunspots, shit was ON. Sunspots/Everything/Heresy/Sanctified was quite the sequence and got me amped. Home is one of my favorites, and I appreciated seeing Reptile again b/c it's such a banger and I was alot closer tonight. The less said about Fashion though, the better.

Trent was a little chattier tonight. Talked about the Taylor Hawkins tribute earlier that day, said he wants to move here and play Red Rocks every night. I can't say I blame him. It was our first time here and man the place is just so, so, SO cool to watch a show. The experience matches the hype imo. Crowd seemed like it was good both nights too. No shenanigans and most people kept their mouths shut when they were supposed to. I think 9/3 eeks out 9/2 by a smidge b/c there were some slightly bigger setlist whoppers than Friday, and Trent seemed more relaxed and in the cut so to speak than last night. Makes sense, since 9/2 was the first show of tour.

As I said somewhere else, I have an extra 9/2 poster I would love to trade for a 9/3 print. I knew there was no way any would be left when I rolled up at like 8:40 or so. Please hit me up here or DM me and we can make this happen.

Night 2! I was even more excited for what was going to be in store as we had row 7 seats this time. After experiencing Red Rocks where we were at, I was beyond excited for Saturday. Much like the night before, my wife and I did the Thirsty Lion shuttle and got the chance to talk to a lot more fans. I really, really wish I would've caught the name of the people we were in line with as they were really cool.

Anywho, wow. wow. wow. wow. Being that close to the Red Rocks stage was wild. We had less windy weather as well, so not only was it a beautiful view to take in ... it was a beautiful night too! And wouldn't you know it, I was right behind both Blake and Jess from the Nailed podcast! Seriously, this weekend was full of coincidences when it came to being next to online NIN acquaintances. I'm pretty sure Yves played the same set, but sounded just as good as the night before.

So yeah, night 2. For people that don't think this stage up isn't as immersive as something as Tension or LITS, wow-does being closer to the stage really take you back from how intense the lights are. Combine that with how pummeling, tightly performed and layered the music is, its sensory overload in all the right ways. Hearing Heresy, Sunspots, Home, Everything, and Even Deeper were the ultimate highlights for me, especially Even Deeper. That one has always been a personal favorite and probably top five NIN track to me? I figured we were more than likely going to get it this weekend, so I was super thankful it showed up on this night. Heresy is so god damn heavy live, when those drums kick in before the second verse ... my god. Also, very cool that we got the claim to fame for being the US debut for Everything and Sunspots. A lot of the crowd near me outside the die-hards had no idea what to make of Everything it seemed like.

Sunspots though — oooo doggie.

Sanctified sounded great, as did Copy of A! And I was even pumped to hear Closer too! As far as the start of the set ... I agree with @bobbie solo (https://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=753) in that I personally don't care for TBOTE either. I like it okay compared to the rest of the songs on Year Zero (I just can't get into it and was even like "dang it" when Me, I'm Not was played lol), but TBOTE also does sound like it could be a song on a highlight reel for Monday Night Football, lol. That said, I was really into how the show opened with almost the house lights on for the band and crept off as the song progressed. Hearing Fashion was a lot of fun, but moreso because my wife also loves David Bowie a lot too and I was glad she got to hear a song like that live!

Unfortunately, as I mentioned in the tour spoiler channel, I was pretty bummed that Reptile and Gave Up returned for night 2. I guess in my mind, Down In It just seemed like a logical follow up after Fashion as they've done so in the past and it would've made a lot of sense to have that song go into THTF and HLAH. I thought "well maybe this means we're getting that elusive Help Me I'm in Hell / Happiness in Slavery encore right? Nope, Home is played ... ok ... I like that ... OOO ... maybe they'll debut a song like they did for Perfect Drug in 2018 or maybe We're in this Together comes back! Makes sense, right? Something big!" ... and then Reptile started playing.

Sigh. I know not everyone could make two nights, but when it's not songs like Hurt, Wish or Head Like a Hole — I guess repeating non-singles like that instead of other tracks which have been in rotation on this tour stupidly bummed me out a bit. I suppose I do it to myself with a lot of things, I build up anticipation for how things are going to go and then can disappoint myself only cause I do it to myself. lol. That said, Even Deeper was next and I loved every minute of it.

All in all, great show ... but I can't decide which night I liked better! I think Night 2 ends up winning with the more variety, but I mean hearing EDIETS and AATCHB on night 1 is something I'll never forget. To those who don't know, my Mom and Dad died of lung cancer and younger brother died at 29 all within the last two years so the one/two combo of AATCHB and Hurt made for an immensely emotional rollercoaster that even had my wife crying with me. Never gonna forget that moment.

I think this weekend needed tracks like La Mer, Mr. Self Destruct and the others I mentioned but we got BIG, BIG songs too and the band just sounded so good. I really, really want to go to another show soon. I hope I can make Ohio work this year, and if not — I'll be thankful I got to have this weekend with my wife, some awesome people, and hope that 2023 brings even more tour dates!

Wow, just like Night 1 it's impossible to write about my personal highlights without basically listing the entire setlist.

I will say it was really fucking cool to see the US debut of two songs in Sunspots and Everything. And holy fuck, Sunspots was heavy as fuck live in the chorus, and Everything is an absolute live NIN banger up there with the best of them.

I will never get tired of seeing this "new" iteration of Sanctified live, and same with Heresy. And it was an incredible surprise and treat to see Me, I'm Not make the setlist; I always want to see more Year Zero deepcuts live.

If I had one negative thing to say about this whole weekend it would be that Fashion just isn't good. I don't like the Bowie song, and I think the NIN cover is even worse, but what really gets me is that it is such a jarring inclusion in the set, and there just really isn't any good way into or out of the song that (IMO) will make it work in a NIN set. Coming in from a Bowie cover kind of works, but going out into Gave Up just pretty much sinks the set to the point it took a song or two for the set to recover from it. My girlfriend is a huge Bowie fan, and this was also her first NIN show, so I was stoked for her, but I will be happy if I never have to see that song played live again.

agree on fashion, not my favorite bowie song and it didn't fit in well with the set. overall i didn't think night 2 flowed as well as night 1 but it was still fantastic.

Back home! And yes, Home was my highlight for sure. I don't know what hits me when I hear that song...So much emotion for me. Those variations of arrangements in one song in a few minutes. Masterpiece.
Me, I'm not was also nice to hear again (the YZ era was special).
Those RedRocks gigs were fantastic and for me like a dream (my first time; what a theater) and it was so beautiful to meet a lot of (old) friends again from around the world. This is such a beautiful NIN family. Precious.
NIN/TR stands for variation: catchy, emotional, brutal, poppy. Never boring... And these two nights proved it again. What a great performer/artist.

Setlist wasn't as strong as the previous night. But hey I got to hear Sunspots and Everything for the first time... Those are two songs I don't care much about, but happy to hear stuff I've never heard before.
Slightly disappointed by how much replay there have been between the two nights, they easily could have decided to play an entirely different set with all the material they have ready to go.
Happy to have been to both shows anyway, as the venue itself made it a very unique experience anyway!
