Pony has been in my heavy rotation since it was released last year. Looking forward to seeing him live this April!

Fantastic record and chill dude! Had an incredibly good time during his small club tour through Germany. Sadly no interview but he took the time to say hello at last. The whole band is very kind and easy to hang.

New video for Queen of the Rodeo!
I love that they included Roses Are Falling, and the subtle nod to Blue Velvet!

Gosh dang it, do I love Pony. Easily one of my favorite albums of 2019 next to 100 gecs last year. Also got the chance to see him last fall and he put on one hell of a show.

Love that the "fancy" cover is getting a proper release, that one's been a banger with his live shows. Other than that I really hope the rest of the EP is on par with the record. I have a little fear he could wear out soon, but I have high hopes for him to stick around, at least his videos keep getting better and better.

Man. Not feeling this new EP, unfortunately.

It's a little bit more "clean" than Pony sounded and that Shania duet did nothing for me. Hopefully this isn't that dreaded period when an artist starts to polish their sound too much that it loses the emotion and appeal of what made them so unique to begin with. That element of new wave, shoegaze, and 1950s country-pop was what sold me into Pony and still does ... hopefully he doesn't abandon it.

Didn't know that last track was a cover as that was the only redeeming quality of the entire listen, unfortunately. Glad it's there though.

Also not feeling it too much sadly. It's very generic and polished like you say. And personally I had hoped the cover of "Fancy" to be as catchy has he does it live. Good EP but not as captivating as the debut record.

I do find it alarming how quickly he blew up after only one album. Also hoping that this EP is the farthest he will tread into 'modern country' territory but we'll see.
I like some of Shania's music from the 90's so the duet doesn't bother me too much. But yea, not quite what I was hoping for.
What I really want is a 7" of this Gram Parsons cover.

Orville Peck & Paul Cauthen recorded a 7" of Righteous Brothers covers for Record Store Day. Never heard of this other guy but they sound great together. One of the few items I'm hoping to pick up this weekend.

Loving the new songs! If they next chapters can hold up to that then the next record will be as excellent as his first one.
