My favorite is local guys Umphrey's McGee (based in Chicago, but originally out of South Bend), who have been at it over 20 years now. They recently remixed what I think is their best record, Anchor Drop, a turning point that got them more attention nationally as a jam powerhouse.

One group I am becoming a little more familiar with is TAUK. They are an instrumental group, who have played several shows with UMG, often jamming together. It's very keyboard-based and a little more jazzy than rock but the guitar does make it's presence known.
