I'm feeling white and nerdy lately. So let's get this thread going.

What are you reading right now?
What are your favorite comics?
Which release are you waiting for?
Right now I'm reading The Walking Dead (which is fucking amazing), Knightfall and Kick-Ass.

I finished reading Superman: Red Son and Batman: The Man Who Laughs, and I was blown away by them.

I don't like Superman very much, sometimes I hate him, but Red Son was really good (they turn Superman into a communist).

And this (http://www.tfaw.com/Profile/Sacrifice-1-(of-6)-(Obsidian-Variant-Cover-Edition)___399148) looks interesting, I might check it out soon.

Good thread, but should be in the literature sub-forum. I recently read Rutu Modan's Exit Wounds, which was awesome.
http://www.entrecomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/exit.jpg
It's written by an Israeli woman. Comics are now the domain of everyone, not just the white, the male and nerdy. So please ammend your prejudices accordingly k thkz.

I fucking love me some comics. I'm not currently reading one but I've been on and off on reading Alan Moore's Lost Girls:

Pretty awesome so far =]

Also, next semester I'm taking a literature class on Graphic Novels and for the final we're supposed to sort of create our own sort of. I can't fucking wait!

Currently reading the following from the New 52:
Batman
Batwoman
Batgirl
Catwoman
Wonder Woman
Animal Man
The Swamp Thing

American Vampire and Sweet Tooth from DC/Vertigo

Memoir and P.I.G.S., both written by Ben McCool. If you're not reading the latter, you're missing out.

Also, reading through Once Upon a Time Fables; currently up to Volume 5.

I just finished reading the 14th issue of The Walking Dead ("No Way Out"); it's probably the most intense issue of the series so far.

Overall, no comic series can top Neil Gaiman's Sandman for me. It's modern day mythology, and time and time again, (as geeky as it sounds and as it should sound) I find myself revisiting and sharing some of the wonderful stories with friends and family.

And of course, there's Batman. My favorites are still The Long Halloween, Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?, The Killing Joke, and even though I find Grant Morrison pretentious as fuck, Arkham Asylum is a gem for Dave McKean's art alone.

DC Comics officially announces series titled 'Before Watchmen'. (http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2012/02/01/dc-entertainment-officially-announces-%E2%80%9Cbefore-watchmen%E2%80%9D/)

That sound you hear is Alan Moore losing his shit. Even though he won't bother attempting to fight it legally. (http://arts.nationalpost.com/2012/02/01/better-read-then-dead-watchmen-2-coming-soon/)

I just read the first issue of Saga (http://www.imagecomics.com/comics/4620/Saga-1)

I loved Brian K. Vaughan's Y the last man, and this feels like a really strong start. Has a great space-fantasy feel to it, kinda old school, but in a good way.

I never read Fear Itself, so I can't exactly give you a frame of reference there, but I am loving AVX. I read parts of House of M, and then kind of fell off after that, until getting back into things relatively recently. I am still figuring out which books work for me, and which don't.

Back to AVX; the set-ups, the pay-offs, and the subtlety used so far has been impressive. It really shows the dedication in building up the story line, and I think it's been planned for a long, long time. The fights have been well done too, and AVX Versus is kind of this fun side boxing match that gives you the epic battles geeks crave that the comics can't show due to their focus on furthering the story.

The infighting, betrayal, and difference of opinion between major players is really heating things up. A lot of people have their own agenda. Scarlet Witch is obviously going to play a big role, she's sort of lurking in the background, but there have been some hints that she is subconsiously controlling the phoenix, or possibly something on an even larger scale than that.

I am really enjoying AVX. Round 3 just came out recently and I loved it. The ending to that issue was awesome. I'm pretty pumped for the next issue.

Also the new issue of Deadpool that came out last Wednesday was really good as well. Things are getting pretty crazy.

Sounds good, im really want Jean Grey to come back from the grave at last, i always liked her and im sick of Emma Frost as the main X Girl, she's a villan for christ's sake, im not a huge fan of bringing dead characters back to life, but Jean deserves it.

On Topic, I got this last weekend:

So I came across this cool checklist, since Marvel's website is a joke when it comes to breaking everything down, in terms of the AvX timeline and associated books. Some are claimed as tie-ins (X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, Wolverine) but really aren't. It's been a good run thus far, things are just starting to heat up. Here is a full up to date list of all the books you will want to get your paws on to get fully immersed in the story, and the order they should be read in (I'm going to throw up a torrent soon after AvX #6 comes out in June).

Picked up Clint, the brainchild magazine of Mark Millar.

It's nice to read a mag that's a little bit closer to my taste in comics than fucking Wizard, but less artsy than The Comics Journal. Also, it's great price, $6.99 for a 100 page publication (and it includes 4 full 24 page titles).

OMG new Sandman next year!!!

To be completely honest, I don't think that this is a story that had to be told. I was fine not knowing what Dream did before he got captured in issue 1. Funny thing, I was actually joking to my friends about a Sandman prequel when Before Watchmen was announced...

On the other hand, Neil Gaiman is a brilliant writer, and I trust him. If someone can mess with the Sandman saga it's him.

Back in Detective Comics no. 1 (The New 52 continuity) the Joker is seen in Arkham Asylum with a man called the Dollmaker, the Joker taunts him and tells him that he killed his son, the Dollmaker cuts off the skin of his face, we also find out that the Joker planned the whole thing to celebrate his "Rebirth"

There was 2 one shots showing this fight one with Bruce Wayne as Batman and the other one with "Batman-Azrael"
http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/uploads/FlavioSapha/2008-09-20_182709_punisher_batman.jpg http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080201150426/marvel_dc/images/5/5b/Batman_Punisher_-_Lake_of_Fire.jpg

I think both are good reads but as many comic book fight it's too restricted and not a "last man standing match" like it should be, but i think Batman (as Bruce Wayne) would win this fight mostly because he's smarter and has many resources plus a he isn't as passionate as Frank Castle, still i think Frank can take Batman down if he gets some kind of emotional leverage on Batman, maybe commissioner Gordon.

Say what you want about Bendis, but this was one of the riskiest Marvel Now titles, and All-New X-Men is doing nothing but delivering the goods.

I was pretty skeptical about the premise and it could've easily gone far the other way but I really do like where they are going with it. Not too many of the other titles have grabbed me thus far, but I will be following this book for a while.

X-Men Legacy has also shown some solid potential in its first two issues.

This news (Karen Berger leaves Vertigo) came out a couple days ago, and it made me really sad. I got into comics as an adult, reading Vertigo titles (Sandman most importantly), and they had a huge impact on my life.

I went to the comic store Wednesday and was considering buying that comics because I heard from a friend that it's awesome, but for some reason, I skipped over it. Then a few more friends are telling me how good it is so far, so I think this coming up Wednesday I'm gonna go pick it up the first two issues.

Has anyone read the new Thunderbolts? The first issue came out Wednesday and I don't think it's bad, but it's just the first issue so I kind of expected there to not be that much action. I really love the team on the series too.

Just read this for a class I am TA-ing and I've got to say I'm a bit confused as to why this is celebrated: it's horrible. Badly written - I mean really corny writing, hard to follow, and the art is just terrible. Sometimes it's entirely unclear what is going on. And Superman and Batman in the same comic? Fighting each other? What the fuck. Maybe it is meant to be read as a kind of postmodern, ironic commentary on superheroes, kind of like Watchmen: I wish it had been a less unpleasurable read, from just about every angle.

It's suposed to read the "Watchmen way" like you said... i think the comic is awesome, in a way "destroys" the Batman character, but also redefines him into what he is today (there's no doubt the new movies have a lot of DKR in their influence)
I don't think Frank Miller is "the greatest" ever, still i don't think he's bad, he's just overrated and he's capable of delivering beautiful and awesome work (300, Ronin) or stupid sexist-crap (All-Star Batman & Robin, and DK2).
Whether you like it or not the comic helped to redefine superheroes and graphic novel in a huge way!

Excessively postmodern and hard to follow. The stories rushed by and there wasn't enough effort put into making them make sense. Tried a little too hard to be weird and out there.
What would Grant Morrison's best comic be considered to be?

Arkham Asylum, The Invisibles and WE3 are great reads, The filth is a bit over-the-top and i understand if you don't like it, in my opinion: Morrisson it's either Hit or Miss, he's a very talented writer and has very interesting ideas but sometimes his storytelling and his pretentiousness gets out of control...
Still i think the 3 comics i recommended and his run on X-Men are worth reading

I just started getting back in to comic books again. I have read some bits and pieces from Before Watchmen (so far I have read the Minutemen series, the Dollar Bill one shot, and I think have read 3 of the Ozymandius series) and Star Wars (a recent series that takes place after the 1st Death Star destruction - I think #3 is out now) but that's all I've been looking at. I really want to get in on reading The Walking Dead. I saw the first season of the AMC show but I haven't been keeping up with that and i'd like to start fresh.

The Walking Dead comic it's different from the series... many situations and characters are handled different form the show... i really recommend the comic it's SO much better than the series...
The "Before Watchmen" series it's ok there's some great stuff like Minutemen, Silk Spectre and Dr Manhattan, still the series about The Comedian and Rorschach failed to deliver the goods...

Sadly the only good thing about the "Rorschach" and "Comedian" series it's the art, such a shame, they are awesome characters...

If you want to "jump in" the Walking Dead comics, i recommend to you the first compilation "Days Gone Bye"

Marvel NOW is really shaping up nicely in my opinion now that it's been about 6 months in. They have a core of really strong titles I'm enjoying week to week now.

All New X-Men I've mentioned before. It's the buzzworthy flagship title. But now you have Uncanny Avengers getting really interesting (Onslaught, Apocalypse Twins), Cable and X-Force, New Avengers (Cap mind wiped and booted from the Illuminati) the list goes on.

You have some really great stand alone titles like Thor God of Thunder and Hawkeye. People are raving about Fearless Defenders but it hasn't hit me yet. I've been loving X-Men Legacy something fierce though, but I know it's sales are way down and worry it will be cancelled.

Then of course you have Superior Spidey, which is absolutely polarizing, but I'm still very interested to see where Slott goes with this. The sister title Avenging Spider-Man is a great complimentary piece to it. Even Scarlet Spider has been a pleasant surprise for me.

Looking forward to Wave 2.

Grant Morrison rocks the Batman world by saying that Batman actually killed The Joker at the end of 'The Killing Joke' (http://batman-news.com/2013/08/16/grant-morrison-batman-kills-joker-in-the-killing-joke/)

Alan Moore I guess did kinda secretly write the last Batman story in a way. This is big news to us Bat-nerds lol.

When i go in a comic book store i usually look for something new and unusual, I love finding something new, i love the comc book world, its an artform i been appreciating a lot more recently, favorites in the past have been Judge Dredd and Hellblazer, usually go for stories that are a bit more realistic and dark, i have never been able to get into Batman and X Men or the classic superhero strips, it took me a while to discover the amazing comic book world buried underneath all of that.

Really enjoying All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men right now. Who knew Cyclops could be such a badass?

The only thing that's been bothering me is that apparently "young Cyclops" will die during the upcoming crossover (Battle for the Atom), but Bendis isn't applying the "Back to the future rule" (If you die in the past you cease to exist).

It sounds a bit retarded to be honest...

The Fables will end with issue #150, in 2015. Bittersweet news. On one had that's a long ass run and it's time to wrap things up for good. On the other, Fables was the first comic book my wife and I discovered as a married couple, and we pretty much started with issue #1, back in 2002, which means that by the time the series ends we went the first 13 years of our marriage buying an issue of Fables each month! End of a chapter.

I am. It's hilarious. Easily the better of Fraction's current Image work (I'm reading Satellite Sam, too, but I'm pretty close to dropping it).

I'm a really big Marvel guy. Been reading a lot of ongoings, as well as everything the Ultimate universe has been putting out. I actually started reading comics through Ultimate Spider-Man, and I think killing Peter Parker was a good decision with a strong follow-through in Miles Morales.

I am a little worried about Cataclysm being the end of the Ultimate universe, though, as irrational as that fear is considering all the shit Bendis has teased for Ultimate Spider-Man coming up.

Issue #0 focuses on her imagining how a comic book about her would be made and who would illustrate it. The comic has the art styles of several artists that depict her differently in each version. It really showcases and diversifies the art of all the wonderful artists out there. It also makes a joke about the DC Offices…funny stuff.

It's extremely goofy and kinda breaks the 4th wall to an extent. The series isn't made to be taken too serious. I read ahead on future issues and in issue #2 she teams with Poison Ivy to rescue puppies from a dog pound or something of the sort.

If you like comedic viewpoints and/or Harley Quinn it's a definite buy.

Permission to join the bandwagon? I've started getting into comics in a big way this year. I've always been kinda interested in comic book 'culture' and enjoyed them from afar, but decided it was time to finally take the plunge. Been reading up on a lot of Marvel and DC 'big' titles: Killing Joke, Watchmen, Superman: Earth One, Civil War. Also, really been enjoying the Marvel Now and New 52 series like All-New X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and Superman Unchained. The Massive is pretty good too...I think someone mentioned it earlier.

So, any recommendations for a n00b?

Also, Space Suicide (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=532) I'm totally going to get that Harley comic for my sis's Christmas based on your review, she's all about Harley Quinn.

Hinterkind is a fairly new Vertigo series, up to issue #3 I believe (I haven't been to my comics shop for a few weeks now so #4 might be out already). It's up to a strong start!

Welp, I'm going to be a crazy asshole and attempt to get a good chunk of the Villains Month special issues that DC put out. The 3D lenticular cover variants as well.

I just bought Reverse Flash

I'm bidding on Joker, Poison Ivy and the Riddler.

Good luck! there are so many and very expensive (at least they were over here...)

I wasn't really THAT interested, just wanted the one of the titles i buy and i really wanted that sweet-ass "Darkseid" cover, "Lobo" too!

The variants are getting annoying, you end up buying the same comic 3 or 4 times, though i'll admit i'm a sucker for the Skottie Young "baby variants"

Outside of eBay, I found a website that sells each 3D lenticular cover version for 40% off the cover price. I'd love them all but I honestly will probably just go for the Batman villains, seeing as he's my favorite.

For my money, Image and Dark Horse are the two best comic publishers right now. Saga, Morning Glories, The Massive, Revival, Hellboy, BPRD, Manhattan Projects, East of West, Mind MGMT, Lazarus, Mind The Gap... I can keep going on and on.

The only superhero books I'm picking up are Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawkeyer and Superman Unchained. I'm not trying to display that as a badge of honor, but the Big Two do hardly anything to engage me as a reader anymore. I'm just seeing so much more passion and creativity elsewhere right now. If you guys are just getting into comics, do yourselves a big favor and check out some of the books I've listed in this post.

I'm already huge on Image (reading Saga, Chew, Manhatan Projects and Nowhere Men), Dark Horse (check out The Massive, Star Wars and Brian Wood's Connan) and even IDW (The Maxx, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow and Ghostbusters are my favs).
I agree that "The big two" are getting repetitive, yet they still manage to entertain me with some of the titles we already mentioned...

Better hurry if you intend to get that Harley Quinn issue, that's Issue #0 and has been out since November. Soon it'll be gone as next week Issue #1 comes out.

I'll recommend things but it all depends on what you like? DC? Marvel? Superhero? Supervillain?

I'll pretty much read anything, though I seem to be veering more towards Marvel. I'm partial to the more 'cosmic' side of the universe; currently reading 'Infinity Gauntlet' as well as the current GOTG series and Age of Ultron. Debating checking out Nova, and I've been reading about the 'Annihilation' arc from a few years back. And The Massive is certainly getting better as it goes along. But yeah, I'll read anything at this stage.

Anyone else read the Ultimate Marvel line? I'm very, very excited for the way the upcoming books shake up the status quo. Ultimate Marvel was in a pretty bad place after Ultimatum, but Miles Morales, Brian Wood's X-Men, and especially Josh Fialkov's Ultimates really got me excited to read the books again, and the new line takes what worked in the past year and amplifies it in the best way.

I do hope major characters die during Cataclysm, though, because otherwise the event feels like a waste. Galactus loses and everyone lives? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Yes. This right here. I recommend this X-Force series. It's probably my favorite comic series. The team in this X-Force is awesome and the stories are dark as hell and Deadpool is awesome in it per usual. I actually bought the first issue on accident a few months ago. I went into the comic book store and was going through their X-Force section and saw a cover that I new I didn't have so I bought it for only $4 and right before I put it away in my box of comics I saw it was #1. Yeah there are some interesting new titles launching with this next round of Marvel NOW. Apparently that first printing of Ms Marvel sold like fucking hot cakes. Loki could be something very cool. The title I'm most excited for is Cyclops though. It's been a long time coming for him to have his own title. So much fertile ground there. http://marvel.com/news/comics/2014/2/13/21943/all-new_marvel_now_qa_cyclops

Sad to X-Men Legacy go. I knew the writing was on the wall for it a while ago, but I'm glad it at least got 25 issues. It was great stuff. One title I'm enjoying that I didn't expect to is Amazing X-Men. The whole heaven/hell back and fourth has been a lot of fun.

I also hated how they finished "FF", one of the best "NOW" titles with awesome art by Allred, and please don't get me started on the "new" "Fantastik Four" title and their ridiculous "Incredibles" costumes...

The only title that sounds interesting is "Punisher" and "Black Widow", i don't care for much of them i gotta give props to DC, at least they haven't restarted (yet again) their numbering for "The New 52", after 2 years and a half...

Quick update on my comics shopping:
-Sandman Overture #2 is finally out, and it's a truly beautiful book. The 5 month of wait was retarded, and from what I heard it won't keep it's initial bi-monthly schedule, but goes irregular. WTF? Noone cared to make sure Neil Gaiman had at least a few issues scripted before they started publishing it?! This was a sure way to get the momentum out from under the book (and yes, even a Sandman book needs momentum).

-Moon Knight #1. I only bought this because it's written by Warren Ellis. I don't generally have interest in superhero stuff, but enjoyed his last gig at Marvel (NewUniversal a few years back), so I gave it a try. I hate to say but it feels like he was phoning it in a bit, still, it's an interesting start. I have to mention this issue has one of the ugliest covers I've seen on the stands in a long time!!!

-Hinterkind. This Vertigo title had a strong start, I was very excited to pick it up, but by issue #4 it got derailed and the artwork seems quite rushed too. I think I'll stick with it till issue #8-is and see if it gets back on it's feet or not.

Yeah, it's dumb and pointless to put out a comic in an "irregular basis" in that case it's better not to announce a regular series and instead do a Graphic novel or one shot and wait till Gaiman completes it!!!

Actually I liked the ending (and 12 Monkeys reference). I wish they would have done more of that: shown the consequences 50, 100, 500 years after the plague.

I found Yorick a totally unlikeable, empty cipher of a protagonist: the cliche of a 20s white "dude" (who thinks he's funny).
355 and Dr Mann were also cliches.
Also the comic has a serious case of women in refrigerator-itis. Plenty of totally pointless woman-killing.

I think my wife and I are the only two people in the world who *hate* Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato's art work. Their run on The Flash kept me from buying the title. And now, DC has let them take over Detective Comics, which has been one of my favorite titles in the New 52. I picked up issue 30 today to try and give it a fair shot and I am completely incredulous that people think this is good art. I have no idea how long their run will be, but until it's over, I'm going to be dropping the title from my hold box. Every review I've seen online is praising the crap out of these guys. I just don't get it.

I agree with your list there, and would add that Steve Dillon is absolutely terrible and should never work again.

Scott Kolins is also terrible and should not have a job.

I just do not see the appeal of Manipul and Buccellato at all. I dislike every panel in Detective #30. I get that everyone and their brother gives them rave reviews, so to each his own I suppose.

If we could just clone Jim Lee a few dozen times and let him be the only person to work for DC, I'd take it. David Finch, Tony Daniel, and Ivan Reis are the others at the top of my list at the moment. All have done superb work the last few years.

Fantastic, amazing stuff. I wonder what else is great from 2000 A.D. any suggestions?

What pisses me off a out that is, instead of concentrating on building up Sif or any other of their heroine characters, they fuck it up with stunts like this. For god sakes, build up your female characters.

Imagine the shit storm if DC decided to give wonder woman a penis.

Still, Loki as a lady worked fine, i think this will only be temporary and they'll go back to normal in a few months (just like the Death of Wolverine it's a gimmick)

orestes

Actually, Loki stole Sif's body after trapping it in a dying woman's body. He's been a woman, "Trixie", for a bit in the new Agent of Asgard title, but that was a means to an end and not a marker of his gender.

I'm, at the least, curious about the new Thor title debuting in October. We don't know who this new wielder of mjolnir is yet, so for all we know, it could be Valkyrie, Freya or other established Asgardian women. It could even be Frigg, Thor's granddaughter, for all we know. (I don't think it will be Angela-seems a bit too on the nose.) Calling it right now: the new Thor will be Roz Solomon.

And for fuck's sake, Marvel isn't changing Thor's gender. Thor will still be around, he just won't have mjolnir for the time being. I liken this to Captain Marvel, in that it is a genderless role now.

What a bunch of whiney gatekeepers.

Theres always "Whining" on the interter regarding Marvel/DC's decisions, it's what the internet is for in a way... i really like Thor and i grew with the Dan Jurgens run, he has always been a male guy in my mind but i don't think making him a female will destroy the character, actually it sounds like an interesting idea (but we'll have to wait and see...)

Maybe Falcon will finally be an essential character in 616 like he deserves to be.

New Thor is interesting, particularly how she's just Thor and doesn't have her own name like Beta Ray Bill or whoever else. Also that she's a person and not a horse alien or a fucking frog.

I can't wait to see how quickly these two things are undone in May 2015, conveniently in time for Avengers 2.

Also, orestes : Ms. Marvel is my favorite Marvel book right now. It unseated Hawkeye because 1. it comes out on time (FOUR MONTHS, MARVEL, FOUR FUCKING MONTHS) and 2. it is just the greatest thing ever written. As much as I love Alphona's art, Jacob Wyatt did an incredible job this issue, as I'm sure he'll do for the next few. This is one of the only times where a Wolverine guest spot was enjoyable to read, too.

I know it happens very often, but it always bothers me when a new secret identity takes up an old super hero mantle. At theat point its not captain america anymroe, its a new hero, or falcon or whatever. In my view. You cant just rearrange these things.

It seems like this is in anticipation of casting issues Marvel might soon have for its movies. How to replace RDJ? REPLace tony stark! Etc etc

Sorry about the typks... My phone wont let me delete anymore? Weord.

Just like the "Superhero sex change" the "Secret identity change" has been done before (and even more...), many people have taken Capitain America's mantle like: Bucky, John Walker, William Nasland among others, personally i loved the "Bucky-cap" and he made more sense than Steve Rogers in this day and age but Marvel always has it's way and brought back Steve Rogers just in time for the Captain America movie.
I like the Falcon and i think the character deserves to be Cap America but he already has a superhero identity and i think Marvel will go back to Steve rogers as they always do.
So, i can see those "changes" fading away fast, maybe the female thor will last longer, i don't know, but for now we'll just have to wait and see...

They always revert back to the "classic" characters with the big names. Remember how Dan Slott insisted for an entire year that Peter Parker was really really really dead forever? And then, when Amazing Spider-Man 2 was on the horizon, everyone suddenly changed their tune?

These things never last in the prime universe. Comics readership has been dwindling steadily for the big two for the past several years. They're not able to take huge risks like this for longer than a year, or a few months, even though I personally think they should.

Sam Wilson will return to being the Falcon in May 2015, and this new Thor will take on a new, non-Thor identity in May 2015. Superior Iron Man may stick around - it's just Tony being an even bigger dick than usual.

This is why I read Ultimate Marvel - changes stick. Granted, sometimes they're awful changes, and Marvel has this tendency to treat the Ultimate universe like an unwanted little brother, but still. Ah well.

So after a seventeen-year hiatus, Hawkeye #19 was pretty good.

If the last issue hadn't been solicited like five times already, I would be surprised that we're moving into endgame territory here. At least these last few issues should rise above the scheduling issues and end the series with a bang. I think this also means that Fraction is done with Marvel for a while. since he's not writing anything else. That's a shame.

I bought it and had my copy destroyed in an apartment fire in a matter of weeks.

I thought it was OK. It just sort of seemed like a older, female version of Scott Pilgrim without all the videogame wackiness. It probably needed to be longer, dare I say, because it wraps things up way too quickly.

It's a decent read though.

It's going to be dumb, after all they when through...
Seems like "Future's end" is the "new" Crisis and it's rumoring heavy, i'm not the biggest fan of "The New 52" but i admit there has been some good thing that came out of it, and for better or worse i would stick with the reboot, doing another one is just going to be capitalism at it's best (recurring thing in comics...)

And speaking of DC comics: They'll release a "scratch and sniff" variant cover that will smell like cannabis, seriously... (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/09/24/dc-comics-creates-a-harley-quinn-comic-that-smells-like-cannabis-for-the-us-and-one-that-doesnt-for-everyone-else/)

Well, besides Batman that is very good i'll recommend to you "Harley Quinn", a truly funny and "acid" comic... I liked "Superman Unchained" a lot, it made good justice to the character and it's about to end, "Animal Man" is a title that has been cancelled already but i liked it a lot, also: "Aquaman" (all the Geoff Johns issues) and "Green Lantern" were fun agile reads and i personally liked the "Forever Evil" crossover, haven't read any issue of "Future's end" so i'm not sure how is it...
