So I have a poster from the first night of Phoenix (it is NOT the foil variant, but just the regular version). I ended up liking the one from the second night better, and am going to get that one framed instead.

I've never sold anything on eBay, and I am not a flipper, so if anyone on here wants it, I would be more than happy to sell it to you for face value + shipping costs. I would like to see this go to a fan that wants it. If no one here wants it, it will probably just sit in the tube for a very long time until I do try to sell it online somewhere.

As much as I want both of the Red Rocks posters in the foil variant, it's coming down to either buying those posters or solidifying tickets for Chicago, so I'm gonna play my cards safely. But if I see one of the foil posters for the second night floating around at the right time, I won't be able to help myself. That thing is fucking COOOOL, and I can imagine the foil variant looks fucking awesome.

Pretty happy with my haul from this tour so far, though! I focused on show-specific stuff and a couple of other shirts, but I'm probably gonna end up getting at least one of everything else at the Chicago shows next month. Managed to get the Night 1 + 2 regular posters, tour poster, tour shirt, white NIN shirt, and the Night 2 shirt this time around.

THAT BEING SAID - I'm still desperately hoping to find a Night 1 t-shirt for Red Rocks in a large, or even a medium, so if anyone has a spare, I'll absolutely pay extra for it!! Also have an extra physical component for NTAE and AV that I'd be willing to include in the trade. Lemme know, peeps!

Always prefer the experience over the stuff. Posters, merch, and collectibles can be found via many channels later. It might cost a bit but with enough persistence you can close that gap. Perhaps during LiTS or other tours with relatively fixed setlists I'd consider it, but on this tour where they seem to be unloading the catalog on stage every night I'd not buy any merch/food/drinks if it was the difference between me getting another show or not.

Exactly. I can always find stuff later, albiet probably with a slight markup, which is inevitable. I won't be able to retroactively attend a show I wish I'd gone to, and for this tour in particular, I'd never let myself hear the end of it if I went to Chicago and saw 1/3 or 2/3 of the shows there. I'm sure each show will be its own treat, but that's also the reason I HAVE to see all three, haha. Besides, now I have another month to stash money away exclusively for more merchandise, AT the shows I'm holding out to attend, so I'm not gonna completely put myself out for something I know will be at the merch table again later.

I got a regular poster for each night anyway, so I'm absolutely happy enough with that. As for the tour poster, since I don't have the Physical World poster to match with it (and probably won't get one, seeing as I'm iffy about owning merch for events I didn't attend), I think my plan is gonna be to get the tour poster framed with the tickets/print outs from the 5 shows I'm attending all lined up next to it in the frame, that way they all fit together nicely. I won't have to put the tickets in the frame with their respective show posters, and those will be able to fill their respective frames all on their own. It looks pretty cool in my mind, but we'll see how things go between now and then!

I didn't expect the shirts to be updated so quickly. Looking at the capacity of the venues & estimating half the headline and a third of the festival audience bought shirts, the initial print run would be roughly 20k shirts.

I’m assuming they knew they’d be going back to The Joint before announcing it so maybe they had a smaller amount of shirts made for beforehand and then a larger batch intended for the rest of the tour? I have no idea how these things work but that would make more sense than throwing out over 10,000 shirts.

Also, wow the show-specific posters are fucking phenomenal this year. Even the ones I’ve not been a fan of have still been gorgeous.

Well with the Louisville show being canceled, I wonder if the picture rotation on the show shirts will remain the same or if it will "move up"... If it remains the same then the shirts must have been pre-printed, If the rotation changes then they are printing right before the show in some manner. Just my speculation...

Some detail shots of the Memphis variant poster. I played nice and gave back the extra poster the lady at the merch booth gave me because I didn't want anyone who wanted this to miss out on it. The "holo-foil" is limited to the butterfly/moth so the shiny light is intentional in some of these shots to illustrate it. This is an insanely gorgeous poster and I feel very lucky that this was what I got for the only show I'm attending this tour.

Ok, so far it's following the pattern. So Nashville will be bones and then it's anyone's guess after that since Louisville got cancelled. We'll see if they "skip over" the design that was supposed to be Louisville and keep the pattern going, or shift all the designs by 1.

Just picked up one of the Louisville tees off the site. I looked at the list of designs/show dates and it turns out the chip is the only design out of the five that won’t be at any of the shows I’m going to. Glad I was able to pick one up! Hope they can make up the cancellation in the future.

It's always weird to me how they add new merch items once a tour is underway. Atlanta #2 added a new Tote Bag and who knows what else will be added in the coming weeks? At least the Event Shirt rotation seems to be holding up, so we'll have some idea of what to expect for upcoming shows.

I'm hoping the add another zip up hoodie as I'm not a fan of pullovers & maybe some additional patches or stickers.

They're $5 and I know they had them at Red Rocks. If you'd like, I can grab an extra in Brooklyn and ship it out if you don't want to see if they go online after the tour. I already have 2 for myself, I would LOVE more enamel pins, I would gladly pay extra for the Bad Witch image pins to be enamel instead of the button-style pins.

Honestly, I like it. I’m not crazy about it, though. The black and white is very fitting for the tour art, and I like the idea of it being a really minimal visual texture. Looks much more appealing up close in the picture. But I feel you on it being on being rather bland. I suppose it just isn’t meant to be flashy or dynamic. Then again, minimalism in design is my jam, so maybe that’s just me.

I sure hope so. I'm doing nights 2 & 3! I'm really hoping that I can manage to catch The Perfect Drug one of those nights, in addition to hopefully seeing some of the following: I'm Afraid of Americans, Happiness in Slavery, Now I'm Nothing, Last, The Becoming, Dead Souls, The Lovers, This Isn't the Place, as many Bad Witch songs as possible, and it'd also be nice to see the live debut of The Idea of You or My Violent Heart (nothing's impossible this tour). I'm also really hoping that they have a really cool poster for one or both nights. I'm sure I sound greedy as fuck, but I'm just super excited. This feels like a special tour and it might even make up for me missing the Wave Goodbye tour.

im digging it, anyone know what time doors open so i can make sure i get one? Have the posters been selling out in the past? and yes emeks QOTSA poster for msg last year was better but it was very limited and sold out really quick and i was very pissed i wasnt able to get one. I wanna make sure that doesnt happene again

So far it's pretty consistent that doors open at 6pm. For shows w/ no GA you're fine in most cases to be there 1 hour early. For shows w/ GA I'd go 2 hours early unless you want rail. :-) In which case better figure another way to get stuff!! Fellow rail buddies in Nashville were kind enough to hold me a spot in exchange for getting the posters for them and myself. I just ensured I hustled over toot sweet between merch and rail. Make sure you ask staff where merch is so you don't waste time neck craning once inside!

How fast any poster sells out just depends on too nany other factors (like how awesome it is - see Memphis vs DC for example). So if you are intent on getting one no matter what, just be early. :-)

It is! I’m loving the pricing for tour merch this time around. Spending less on each individual thing makes me feel inclined to buy more things, heh. These shows alone are filling my closet space quick.

Those tanks aren't really ladies tanks, unless they've redesigned them for the autumn tour. In the summer I bought the one above the dates poster and it's a more masculine style - the arm holes go down really low unlike the other ~6 NIN tanks I own. As a result I can't wear the thing without indecent exposure as it doesn't cover my boobs.

My head nearly exploded last night when, after waiting in line at one of the merch booths for ~10 minutes, I was informed that they only had the event shirt left in L. Given that it was only 7:15, I dashed over to the other, much longer line and prayed it was an inventory distribution issue. Fortunately, I lucked out (especially because bones > hand).

With the upcoming two shows in LV, it looks like I'll have a complete set from my five show run on this tour.

Saaame, except I missed out on the first Red Rocks night. The five shows I’m going to have one duplicate shirt design between them (finger), and I’d just be out of luck with getting the fifth design (microchip). With the Louisville show being cancelled, though, it gave me the opportunity to get the microchip design. So while I’m missing one of the event shirts I want, I’ll still have a full set of five (assuming I can actually get a shirt each night in a Chicago).

I also just realized I’m gonna have different tour date posters with and without the Las Vegas dates, too, so that’s kinda cool. Now if I can only find a Physical World poster for less than $150. :-)))))

It’s broad, but here’s the thing...Between having to wait for the venue to open, not knowing how many merch scalpers will get to the booth first, how many other fans get there first, how many of each thing was actually produced in the first place...A timeline like that is going to be different from night to night and impossible to accurately time.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. However, if anecdotal reports are of any interest, I successfully procured event shirts (size S - so likely not the most in-demand) for the last 3 shows within 45-75 minutes of doors opening.

I’d imagine that’s probably for the booth? I suppose? Then THAT begs the question, though - what about the venues with two merch booths? How are those low-quantity items split? At Red Rocks, the guy working one booth told me that they never even had foil posters that night, those were just all kept at the other booth. No signs to indicate it, no nothing. Just had to walk from one to the other and look before choosing a line. So there’s a chance that you may wait in line for 15-45 minutes, or more, or miss one of the bands, just to find out “Sorry Mario, your princess is in the other castle.”

Unfortunately, early bird gets the worm. And it really, REALLY sucks that we have to do go out of our ways to do it that way because other people are cunts trying to take advantage of an artist’s fanbase for money. It all just seems to be handled very loosely, and I wish something would be done about it. Even a one or two poster limit, anything.

I liked in 2017 when they put BOTP posters for the summer shows on the web site... No anxiety about waiting in line or scalpers. What they could do is an online thing with access only to ticket holders and purchase limits. I don't know how well it would work but it could be worth a try.

Except for DC, I haven't had any issue w/ getting a copy direct from each artist for shows I don't attend. It may not be the version sold at the show but it's enough for my little collector heart. And I am not reaching for every one w/ variants. Except for Memphis as it was too gorgeous to pass on one. :-) Plus my original got messed up when I sent it home using USPS. :-(

For the NYC shows, RCMH #1 will go up on EMEK's site probably after they come back from some convention. RCMH #2 you can get from BOTP but I don't know what he has left so you'll have to message them through Instagram since that is his preferred 'store'. And KT #1 will like go up at some point via Mr. Klausen's store.

I emailed the artists on the DC shows. Hope to hear back if they will also sell copies later. I am thinking DC #2 might be one that shows up in NIN store unless anybody could confirm it did sell out? I am just going from the artist being a little more of designer type via their website.

Waiting excitedly for the future shows in meantime. :-D

I don't work for NIN or their Merch company, so I don't pretend to actually know the answers to your questions ... just chipping my two scents in as an experienced Touring Merchandise Professional.

Someone at the merch company factors:

1) What is the venue capacity. 500 people or 50,000 people? As you can imagine they might print a little bit more for a bigger capacity venue but always keep in mind that printing venue specific merchandise is a gamble. They don't want to over print and be stuck with 72 Small Nebraska Event tees that no other market will want after the fact. The goal is to make the hardcore fans happy and sell out.

2) Is this a "proven Big" market? Again, good markets will probably get a few more vs "leaner" markets.

3) How many booths does this venue have? While not a game changer when ordering to print, this IS important when doing the distribution to the different booths. Note: Usually distribution is left up to the person who manages the venue as they know which stands do the better sales.

If had to guess the print run for the Dated event tour tee for an 2,000 Capacity show average i'd guess:

36 Small (Why so little, hardly anyone buys smalls, also women have option to purchase the women's tanks and tees anyway)
60 Medium
72 Large (Large and X-large is the bulk of what most people will buy, these numbers are conservative, also 72 tees usually fit in a normal box without overstuff)
72 Xlarge
60 XX large

Again I don't pretend to know or work for the band or any of the venues the shows have landed at so this is all guess work to give you an idea of what is going on.

I know exactly what you're talking about as i was at those Red Rock Shows. As far as I could tell, the upstairs merch booth didn't get any foil posters ... again speculation as I was at the downstairs booth to begin with then walked upstairs to get food and drinks and saw that there was a merch booth upstairs as well - but saw no sign of Foil posters or any signage advertising it or an empty spot where it used to hang. So i deducted that that booth did not get any foil posters.

They probably didn't get any because if you look at both stands the downstairs stand was bigger, had more room to display essentially and item that was going to sell out despite the price point. There were only 30 foil posters so "why make room for it at both stands" when the bigger busier stand could get rid of all of them in the span of less then 30 mins.

Sure they could have been fair and had them upstairs as well but I can see their logic in placing them all in one stand. Sucks. Specially for everyone going early hoping to get one and ending up at the "wrong" booth to no fault of their own. But what can you do? If the print run was higher ... 100 foil posters, maybe they would have spilt them 60 / 40 or something like that?

Night One. I was 30-45 in line for night one, waiting in the downstairs line. Got in and despite being 45 in line or so, I got both version easy. I saw that they still had plenty of foil after my purchase ... did everyone in front of me not like that nights design? Not everyone was buying the foil? Too expensive? Who knows it just worked out that way. Hell everyone in front of me at merch didn't even go for that nights event tour tee. It's just hard to predict what people will do or buy.

Night two. Got there a little earlier then the previous night and I'm 15th in line. Guaranteed foil poster right? So when the time comes they let us up to the gates ... from the gates we can see a few venue staff getting a little pre crowd shopping. No worries. Only one or two got the posters that still leaves ... 28 or 26 or so foils right. I'm 15th should be no problem.

Then we notice more and more people coming to the merch booth ... we frantically realize that the other side has opened earlier then our side and we start yelling at security to let us in. They look at their clocks ... and finally let us in.

I was 15th in line and barely got the second to last Red Rock Foil poster ... and only because the person in front of me (there was a credit card issue) told the merch person to quickly help me while their issue was being resolved - had he taken up the attendants time i'm certain I would have missed out on the foil version).

Moral of the story. Sometimes you get lucky ... You just never know.

I attended all 3 Pre Europe Vegas shows (1 merch booth at that venue) and both Red Rocks shows (2 booths) and both venues had a strictly 1 poster per person policy.

Meaning you could get only get ONE of EACH poster being offered (Both events had 3 posters sold in total. The Event Poster, Event Foil and a generic Tour poster) - but not multiples of the same version of a poster. So you could NOT get two foils or Two regulars if you wanted two, but you could buy a regular and a foil if possible.

Not sure if this has been the policy the whole tour. The touring merchandiser may or may not say something to the venue about doing only one poster per person ... but then it's up to the venue to remember and follow those rules.

Here's where it gets tricky. If you have a seated venue, It's fine you can make a run for the merch booth get your stuff then casually get to your seat and enjoy. BUT where it gets tricky is if it's a general admission venue ... what do you do? Do you hit up merch first then get whatever spot you want? Or try to get rail or the best spot you can and then hope for the merch afterwards?

If you're with someone perhaps you can divide and conquer? But what if you're by yourself ...

Here's where it gets tricky. If you have a seated venue, It's fine you can make a run for the merch booth get your stuff then casually get to your seat and enjoy. BUT where it gets tricky is if it's a general admission venue ... what do you do? Do you hit up merch first then get whatever spot you want? Or try to get rail or the best spot you can and then hope for the merch afterwards?

If you're with someone perhaps you can divide and conquer? But what if you're by yourself ...

I mean...I didn’t actually have any questions about how all of that went, heh, those were mostly rhetorical. I was just trying to map them out as reasons why trying to find out “the best time to get there” is preeetty tricky, and why your best bet is to try to get there earlier than other people, because there isn’t much else that you as a customer at a show can really do to improve your odds of getting your merch of choice. You can control when you get there. You can’t control everything else. Maybe it pays off, maybe not. Maybe you get lucky and get exactly what you want at the right time, maybe you don’t. Thanks for elaborating waaay more than I wanted to with my thumbs, though! Hahah, you pretty much nailed it. Edit: Not to mention, I have zero experience with working for a merch company of any kind, so kudos for chiming in with experience! It’s always certainly seemed like organized chaos trying to run that show.

Indeed! In the past, I’ve normally stuck to the same rule. However, I think being in a different place financially than I was during past touring cycles has changed that rule to “only shows I go to...and maybe a couple of the REALLY cool ones...” ^^’ And almost exclusively when it comes to Nine Inch Nails, haha.

Reading through some of the posts in the tour litho thread, though, I think I’m gonna get an art portfolio or something to keep most of them in, too. I don’t know why I never thought to do that.

I received my BOTP poster today. But I splurged on the Silver Chrome variant he offered. OMG is it shiny!!! I will try to oost pic when I can.

They sell poster tubes for $5, but you'll have to hang onto the thing for the whole show. Kinda sucks, I know. I wish that you could put it in a coat check and get it back afterwards, but I don't think that's a thing.

The regular uncut was limited to 30 I can confirm. Supposedly the red uncut was at the shows too butbut alas I did not see those. So far all I see on ebaz is AP for red. Maybe verify w/ artist via twitterz or insta?

Yes, regular posters are limited as well (since they're done for just that night, it would be silly to make a lot). I've been to shows where the regular one sold out before JAMC went on, and I've been to shows where they were still available after the show.
