Surprised to see no thread about this music project. I'm a really big fan, although I prefer the first two albums over the last two (more lo-fi) . He is insanely talented, they are excellent live if you get a chance to see them, DO IT! New album out today on spotify & the store .

Unknown Mortal Orchestra is a New Zealand (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand) psychedlic rock (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychedelic_rock) band primarily comprising singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ruban Nielson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruban_Nielson), and bassist Jake Portrait. Nielson, formerly of The Mint Chicks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mint_Chicks), started the band in 2010. The band's first album was released in 2011 on Fat Possum Records (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Possum_Records); three subsequent studio albums have been released on Jagjajuwar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagjaguwar), the most recent being Sex & Food (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_%26_Food) (2018).
